Looks to be a tough night for punters with wide open races and plenty of chances. Trainer Darren Weir should play a big hand with a strong line-up of runners and the apprentices should be dominant. Top jockey Craig Williams has some handy rides and he rarely leaves a meeting winless. The weather is perfect with a balmy 27C maximum forecast and the day being sunny. The track is rated as a Good 4 and the false rail will be at four metres.
No 3 FROM THE CLOUDS Given a baptism of fire debuting in a Group 3 race and then at her following start battled on well to run seventh over 1000m at Sandown on November 12. Freshened for this.
No 5 KAIKEN Is a daughter of leading sire Exceed And Excel so she is well bred and should be kept safe. Is from the stables of Darren Weir and has Group 1 winning jockey Damian Lane to ride.
VALUE RUNNER: No 5 KAIKEN

No 6 PANTHERESS Has been most honest since coming here from Queensland. Latest ran a good third over 955m here last Friday night. WA apprentice Jordan Turner’s 1.5kg claim reduces her weight to 53.5kg. Handy here.
No 1 MY SISTER LIL Liked some of her efforts over the spring but she had enough by the end of her campaign. She has the good record of two wins and two thirds at six starts first-up. With Ben Thompson’s 2kg claim she carries 56kg and is a smart type in a small field.
No 8 WIN SPOT (Best Roughie) She was at lucrative odds at $81 when finishing a close ninth over 1200m here on January 21. She goes up a kilo to 55kg and won’t be at $81 here on her last start. Makes place appeal.
VALUE RUNNER: No 1 MY SISTER LIL

VALUE RUNNER: No 9 PUNT CLUB
No 6 MAGNATTI (BEST BET) Ace jockey Craig Williams rides this three-year-old filly for the first time. She is a daughter of Victoria’s top sire Magnus and is unbeaten at her two starts. She has trumped her opposition by a total of 3 ¼ lengths at her two starts and makes strong appeal resuming here against her own sex and in a small field. Should prove too classy for these.
No 3 LITTLE INDIAN Won down the straight 1000m at Flemington three starts ago.
No5 QUILATE May be more effective over further but respect.
No 1 HALE SORIANO (NEXT BEST BET) Gets his chance to amend here against a moderate bunch of stayers. He is trained by Darren Weir and struck tougher opposition when running second over 2500m at Flemington on January 14. This Irish bred import has been disappointing but with Luke Nolen on board he can do the job over the 3000m here.
No 2 SOVIET COURAGE Chris Waller stayer with Craig Williams on top and respect.
