Another bone dry week in Brisbane which means Doomben should be lightning fast. The horses have been running sensational times at Doomben for the past two years. The rail is out five metres which usually means front runners are advantaged early and then all runners come into play later.

  • BEST BEST: R2 – 5. ARKI
  • Next Best Bet: R1 – 3. SOUTH OF FRANCE
  • Best Roughie: R6 – 9. WINDY SANDS

R1 – 11.55am. VAL AND EDDIE MACHIN QTIS Two-Years-Old Handicap - 1200m.

NO 3 SOUTH OF FRANCE (NEXT BEST BET) Trialled nicely at the Sunshine Coast before only start when finished solidly for a good second at Eagle Farm. Stepping up to 1200m which should suit very well. Looks perfectly placed here.

NO 4 LADY LARK Sat deep and won her first start at Eagle Farm and then very good last start behind two promising horses. This is ideal at this stage of her campaign.

NO 6 FELINO BEL Well bred filly who sat deep at her only start and came away for a good win in the northern rivers. That was a strong race and ready to take the step up here.

VALUE RUNNER: NO 6 FELINO BEL

R2 – 12.32pm. BEENLEIGH BOWLS CLUB IS BACK OPEN Handicap - 2030m.

NO 5 ARKI (BEST BET) He could not have been more impressive in winning all four starts since an enforced two-year break with injury. He has been dominant in restricted company and this isn't the hardest open handicap you will ever find.

NO 1 SHOREHAM He was racing well before struggling last start. Might go better here on a smaller track where he can sit on the pace.

NO 9 FRIGHTENING BOLT Finished very strongly when second behind a smart horse at the Sunshine Coast. He was racing well in Toowoomba prior to that and gets a chance here.

VALUE RUNNER: NO 9 FRIGHTENING BOLT

ARKIRace 2 Beenleigh bowls club is back open handicap - Winner

R3 – 1.07pm. COOLPHASE Class 3 Plate - 1050m.

NO 4 TARZAN He was very impressive in winning a Sunshine Coast trial and then was very strong in winning first-up. Has a few problems in the mind but is promising.

NO 1 DYLAN’S LUCK Has had a few niggling problems and never a hope last time. Give one more try here.

NO 12 WE'S DONE. Good winner last time and top jockey Jeff Lloyd sticks with him. One of the few chances well drawn.

VALUE RUNNER: NO 12 WE'S DONE

R4 – 1.42pm. IN REMEMBRANCE OF ELSIE & WILLIAM MORGAN QTIS Three-Years-Old Handicap - 1630m.

NO 4 AHNDRAS She has been ultra-impressive at past two wins where produced a big finish. She is a possible Oaks filly later this year so rates highly here.

NO 8 DON'T DOUBT DA WIFE Very strong at the finish last start and the stable has a high opinion of him as a possible middle distance horse.

NO 3 TWO SHOES Originally raced as a speed horse but getting back in her races and charging home. Provided there is early pace she will be hard to hold out.

NO 1 RINGO'S A ROCKSTAR Stepping up in distance and has plenty of weight even after the claim. But has too much class to ignore.

VALUE RUNNER: NO 3 TWO SHOES

AHNDRAS Race 4 In remembrance of elsie and william morgan qtis three-years-old handicap - Winner

R5 – 2.17pm. SITE PRO 1 Colts, Geldings and Entires No Metro Wins Handicap - 1350m.

NO 3 HAVASAY He was scratched last week but is much better placed here anyway. He can finish fast and has a top jockey in Damian Browne.

NO 11 REAL EGO Been going okay in midweek class and this isn't much tougher. Hard to catch but can finish fast on his day.

NO 9 JETSONIC Form is solid without being outstanding but has drawn the rails here and should be able to race right upon the speed.

VALUE RUNNER: NO 11 REAL EGO

HAVASAYRace 5 Site pro 1 colts, geldings and entires no metro wins handicap - Winner

R6 – 2.57pm. BUSINESS INSURANCE GROUP Fillies and Mares No Metro Wins Handicap - 1350m.

NO 4 PASSIONFLOWER Honest galloper who doesn't win too many but always an each-way hope. Just run down last start and suited now.

NO 9 WINDY SANDS (Best Roughie) Got held up in the straight last start when probably should have won at the mid weeks. Has not finished worse than fourth in six runs since coming to Queensland and this isn't very strong.

NO 3 DON'T TELL MAMA Likes this track and has been racing well in easier events. Has a 3kgs claim here and that gets her into this race very well.

VALUE RUNNER: NO 9 WINDY SANDS

PASSIONFLOWERRace 6 Business insurance group fillies and mares no metro wins handicap - Winner

R7 – 3.37pm. COOPER REEVES Colts, Geldings and Entires No Metro Wins Handicap - 1350m.

NO 4 LEGAL PROCEDURE Central Queensland horse who has failed a few times in Brisbane. However, does have ability and has been close up in some handy Brisbane races. Give a chance here.

NO 9 HELAROCITY Couldn't have been more impressive in his recent Toowoomba win. Step up in class here but he is suited at the weights and distance.

NO 5 VOLTAIRE LUMIERE Has won his past two in the northern rivers with strong performances. It is hard to line the form up this race because horses have been racing in different areas. But he does look a major player.

VALUE RUNNER: NO 5 VOLTAIRE LUMIERE

LEGAL PROCEDURERace 7 Cooper reeves colts, geldings and entires no metro wins handicap - Winner

R8 – 4.17pm. TOXFREE & MND OPEN Handicap - 1350m.

NO 2 FLAMBOYER He is probably at his best on a soft track but racing very well on dry surfaces. He will lead here and prove hard to beat with a 2kgs claim.

NO 7 BINALONG ROAD This is probably as tough as he wants it but does like Doomben and does like this trip. He is on the minimum from a good barrier so rates highly.

NO 5 MURT THE FLIRT Victorian who has been campaigning here for a couple of months. Back in open company and down in the weights, he is one of the best hopes.

NO 1 JOPA No doubt he is best on wet tracks but does go extra well at Doomben and at 1350m. Plenty of weight here but always a hope this track.

VALUE RUNNER: NO 7 BINALONG ROAD

R9 – 4.53pm. QUEENSLAND BRAIN INSTITUTE BenchMark 85 Handicap - 1200m.

NO 3 OBERLAND He was very strong at the finish at the Sunshine Coast when a last-start winner. He is promising has the right barrier draw to get a perfect run here.

NO 4 PROFILER Hasn't been racing at his best of late but then again hasn't had much luck. He should improve here in a weak race.

VALUE RUNNER: NO 4 PROFILER

OBERLANDRace 9 Queensland brain institute benchmark 85 handicap - Winner
