Doomben Betting Tips & Preview
Betting Tips for every race at Doomben. Today’s best bet is in race 4.
Back to Doomben after a Saturday meeting where the track was again lightning fast. There have been some storms around Brisbane this week but the track should be again good. The rail is out seven metres meaning front runners should have an advantage most of the day. But it is getting to the stage in Brisbane where you should just back jockey Jeff Lloyd. You are usually assured of backing at least two winners a meeting and he has a good book of rides again on Wednesday.

R1 – 12.25pm. SKY THOROUGHBRED CENTRAL QTIS Two-Years-Old Maiden Plate - 1200m.
NO 5 CITRAIN Trialled well and the disgraceful only start at Eagle Farm when no excuses. Can do better for race experience.
NO 1 MISPRINT Well beaten only start when in the market at Doomben earlier in the season and trialled okay. This is so weak must be a chance.
NO 6 MCCULLOUGH First starter with no official trial but apparently went okay in a jump out. Has some claims.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 1 MISPRINT
R2 – 1.05pm. GIRLS DAY OUT RACE DAY Maiden Handicap - 1350m.
NO 1 SON OF A BRUT Had every chance first run back from a spell but faded to finish fourth. This distance suits better and he rates another chance has had very good form last campaign.
NO 4 ROSE GARDEN Not a bad run at only start and this isn't strong. Looks one of the better hopers.
NO 5 ON A HIGH Came from a mile back last start when third and drawn to be handier in the run here. Each-way hopes here.
NO 6 REAL PINK First starter who was solid without being brilliant in a trial. Stable is going very well at the moment with first starters.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 6 REAL PINK
R3 – 1.40pm. HAMILTON HOTEL Maiden Handicap - 1640m.
NO 8 HIGH AFRICAINE Ran home strongly for a third this track and distance when came from a long way back on a day that suited front runners. She has had a stack of chances but hard to beat on that run.
NO 2 YALLAROI Ridden back in the field last start and improved to run home strongly for a third. This distance suits.
NO 1 MURTASTEEL Racing well with placings past three starts and stepping up gradually in distance to a suitable 1600m here. Also has a 3kgs claim so hard to beat.
NO 3 LUJAC Has been very costly and again had every chance when faded to be fourth this distance last start. Never far from place money and always one for the multiples.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 8 HIGH AFRICAINE
R4 – 2.15pm. RELAXED RACING Class 3 Handicap - 1640m.
NO 5 FIRST CRUSH (BEST BET) Handy first two runs back from a spell and then very strong at the finish under a big weight to win at the Sunshine Coast last start. Will be hard to beat if he gets an easy lead.
NO 3 KARAKABEEL Good winner first-up and then no luck at all in the straight when failed second-up. This far easier than last start when again had little luck.
NO 1 SHOTACROSS THE BOW Once rated a likely stakes horse he showed some of his old ability when third in a Saturday metropolitan race at the Sunshine Coast. Has never run a place in seven goes this track but this is easiest race for a while.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 5 FIRST CRUSH
R5 – 2.50pm. SPONSORSHIP@BRC.COM.AU Class 5 Handicap - 1350m.
NO 3 I AM THE SCULPTOR Has a bad habit of over racing but if he gets cover and can settle can sprint quickly. Last three defeats have had excuses and this race suits.
NO 1 MR LEBROCK Stayer who raced in good company in the winter. He has had two trials for this and although never been placed first-up will be running home hard in this small field.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 1 MR LEBROCK
R6 – 3.25pm. TRACKSIDE CINEMA Fillies and Mares Class 3 Handicap - 1110m.
NO 2 MAGIC LOVE (NEXT BEST) Has always had a big wrap on her and won two starts before unlucky third at Ipswich last time. Won a Deagon trial in a trot for comeback here.
NO 1 FLO JO SNIP Speedy mare who is always around the place without winning. Has to be an each-way chance again.
NO 6 FRENCH CONCESSION Another mare who is in good form of late and finished well to be second to a promising horse this track last time.
NO 8 SO SERENE She has raced in stakes company in Melbourne and showed plenty in a trial when second recently. Top jockey-trainer combo who must always be respected.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 8 SO SERENE
R7 – 4.05pm. WWW.BRC.COM.AU Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 3 Handicap - 1110m.
NO 12 OH BOY Has plenty of speed but had been stopping in his races before leading all of the way to win this track at 1200m. Now has found some stamina he does have plenty of ability and should go on with it.
NO 2 BIG BAMBOO (Best Roughie) This is by far the hardest race of the day to find the winner but he does go very well fresh and wasn't asked to do much in a recent trial.
NO 1 CHAMAREL Has raced well in Victoria and NSW and did nicely winning a Toowoomba trial in preparation for first Queensland start. Also has a claim here.
NO 9 KAPGUN Has been racing consistently and has to be an each way hope this tough race.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 2 BIG BAMBOO
R8 – 4.45pm. SUPERHERO SATURDAY Class 1 Handicap - 1350m.
NO 7 MEADOW She was extremely disappointing last start but didn't handle the heat and hard track. She is being tipped as a possible Oaks horse so would want to improve here as this is much weaker than last time.
NO 6 DAMN FINE He hasn't had much luck lately and this is easiest race he has been in for a while. Rails barrier is a big advantage.
NO 1 CHIN CHUN He is a real tease as he never runs a bad race but very rarely wins any. Gets his chance here and one day he will prove us wrong.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 7 MEADOW
