Eagle Farm seemed to favour front runners last time but that was more pace bias than track bias. The storms that hit Brisbane during the week mostly missed Eagle Farm and the track should be good. The rail is true. It is a typical off season meeting with big fields and lots of chances.
NO 1 PARADIS IMPERIAL She has won five from five starts so not harshly weighted here. Has an outside barrier but horses can win from wide at the Eagle Farm 1000m - provided they can get cover. Another who just needs a touch of luck.
NO 12 SHOWASHADOW Caught the eye with handy first start when had no luck. One of the few chances drawn well and has the top jockey in Jeff Lloyd.
NO 2 ACCEPTILE Has the best race form of any runner here and a top jockey in Damian Browne. If he settles behind the pace as he did in his last start win he will be hard to beat again.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 12 SHOWASHADOW
NO 2 MAGNATUNE Has been racing well with a Sunshine Coast win and then a good third this track and distance when came deep in the straight. He has a 3kgs claim here so well in at the weights.
NO 3 MORENDI Tough stayer who has won his past two starts this track and distance. This race no harder but starting to get right up in the weights.
NO 4 WALHAAN On his day isn't a bad stayer but has a few problems. Didn't mind his recent unplaced run behind in-form Arki at the Sunshine Coast and should be fit for 2200m now.
NO 5 COURT'S STAR His best form is when he can lead by himself but he has been battling away in these distance races of late. If he gets an easy lead he can win.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 4 WALHAAN
NO 13 THE EQUALIZER He has been getting too far back in his races on small tracks but still won easily at Ipswich last time. Suited this distance on his big track and down in the weights.
NO 5 RAFFINATO He had no luck and was well beaten first-up. But has much better second-up form and has Jeff Lloyd in the saddle here. Scratched Wednesday for this.
NO 10 MARGIN TRADER Another scratched on Wednesday for this race. Only fair first-up Queensland run but on best Victorian form would win here.
NO 2 CASHING UP Handy galloper who can mix his form. Not a bad run in tougher company at the Sunshine Coast last start.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 5 RAFFINATO
NO 15 CANDIKA (Best Bet) She has been placed in much better company than this and last start got a mile back in a slowly run race and had no chance. She was drawn wide that day and this time much better placed at the start. She can race handier and be right in the finish.
NO 4 HOTEL COSTE Showed his true form last start with a very strong win this track against the bias of the day. Chance again here.
NO 2 DRUMBEAT’S CHOICE He is a professional placegetter but this is an ideal race for him to break through in. Has a 3kgs claim so well off at the weights.
NO 12 CATENACCIO Finished very strongly at last start this track when second behind a smart horse. Good winner previous start when again finished strongly.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 2 DRUMBEAT'S CHOICE
NO 9 HUDSON COUNTY (Next Best Bet) He turned in a great run when led to the shadows of the post this track and distance when second last start. He likes to roll along up near the lead and there aren't a lot of natural leaders here. He has only 51kgs after the claim here and should be very hard to beat.
NO 1 SKY KINGDOM He won a stakes race in Europe before arriving in Australia. Only Australian start finished midfield in a Listed race at Caloundra when not beaten far. Better suited at this distance and is a top chance to win here.
NO 6 BINALONG ROAD Prolific winner in NSW country areas and now trained on the Gold Coast. He has won in Brisbane but not at Eagle Farm. Out to his right distance now and definite each-way hopes.
NO 5 BEATNIKS She probably needs a wet track to do her best but she has been racing well against better horses than these. Another with strong each-way claims.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 6 BINALONG ROAD
NO 14 QUEEN TARA She has been scratched a couple of times lately. Good winner two runs back and then had problems when well beaten at the Gold Coast a month ago. This is an ideal race for her and usually goes well on the fresh side.
NO 12 ALL TROOPS Doesn't win many but is very honest. The 1200m is probably as far as he wants to go but provided there is early pace, as there should be, he will be running home hard.
NO 5 DARCIWOOD (Best Roughie) His two recent runs have been very good in unsuitable races. Does get back a bit in his races but from the inside barrier just needs some luck in the straight.
NO 3 SKYLIMIT Scratched from the open company race to contest this. Two runs from a spell in tougher races have been good and looks a top chance despite his weight.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 5 DARCIWOOD
NO 1 OINK Very brave first-up when came through a narrow gap to win well. He probably is going to be best at 1600m but top chance again here while still on the fresh side. These races are tough to win back to back but he is a class act.
NO 3 CHARNLEY RIVER The best maiden galloper in Queensland and has a Group One placing to his name. Has matured during a spell and a full brother to Group One winner Woorim. Looks well placed first-up here.
NO 6 RICH AFFAIR Won in fine style against similar company last start beating a couple of smart three-year-olds. He can race near the pace and in this big field that should be an advantage.
NO 9 ALL OVER BOSANOVA Unbeaten in three starts in much easier company than this. But she does have some potential and will be thereabouts at the finish.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 6 RICH AFFAIR
