Racing returns to headquarters following an engaging Group 1 meeting at Caulfield last Saturday. The feature of the Group 1 Australian Guineas sees a strong field of three-year-olds lining up to do battle. It is a most even race with the barrier draws likely to prove critical. The rail is back on the True position after being at nine metres last time. The track is rated a Good 4 and the day should be perfect with a maximum on 28C forecast.

No3 SWORD OF LIGHT Damian Lane has a great association with this stable and he rode a winner for them last Saturday. Smart filly here who has an imposing record fresh of two starts for a win and a second. Can go close.

No2 MISSROCK Proved a tough adversary capping her spring with a strong fifth in the VRC Oaks (2500m) here on November 3. She gets a riding change with Mark Zahra the new pillion and one to watch.

No7 GIVE US A GO Had no luck at her final start before finishing third over 1400m on Melbourne Cup day last November. She gets a change of rider with top jockey Damien Oliver steering her first-up here.

VALUE RUNNER: No7 GIVE US A GO

No2 HEATHERLY (BEST BET) Had no luck in what was a drama-packed start to the Lightning Stakes. She gave a strong effort first-up to run a close sixth in the Group 1 down the 1000m straight here a fortnight ago. She gets the in-form Damian Lane to ride her again and she strikes only a small bunch here and at $2.05 in early betting looks a good bet.

No4 RELDAS Gets the red hot Craig Williams to ride here and with a record of four starts for a win, a second and a third first-up she rates well.

VALUE RUNNER: No3 HUSSON EAGLE

No12 HOLY HONOR Hails from a top juvenile stable and showed natural speed to outsprint her rivals in a recent jump out on February 24. She meets some smart types at her debut but her sire I Am Invinclble is on fire.

VALUE RUNNER: No12 HOLY HONOR

R4 – 2.30pm. Mitty’s Handicap – 1600m.

No9 HAPPY HANNAH Team Snowden have brought her down from Sydney to race fresh here. She ran fourth of five in a 1050m trial at Randwick on February 16. That was a warm up and don’t think they would bring her here if she was not ready.

VALUE RUNNER: No3 HOOKED

R7 – 4.30pm. Australian Guineas – 1600m.

No4 HEY DOC Has the gate (4) and the form to suggest he can win what is an even Guineas field. He won the CS Hayes Stakes here in fine style on February 18. Punters have lunged onto him since the draw on Tuesday and respect.

No2 DIVINE PROPHET Is searching for the Caulfield-Australian Guineas double. He had a good tough pipe-opener when ninth to Black Heart Bart in the Group 1 Orr Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on February 11. Back to his own age here.

No6 ATTENTION Backs up here off a sound fifth to Black Heart Bart in the Futurity Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield last Saturday. That was his third run this campaign and has him now rock hard for his own age here.

No13 LAND OF PLENTY (Best Roughie) Is a talented 3yo who ran a big race when three deep to charge into third place to Hey Doc in the Hayes Stakes at Caulfield on February 18. Hong Kong jockey Brett Prebble replaces Blake Shinn. Good showing.

VALUE RUNNER: No13 LAND OF PLENTY

No2 BIG MEMORY Gets a nice weight drop of 2kg down to 54.5kg here after starting a $3.40 favourite when second to Northwest Passage over 2500m at Moonee Valley on February 17. Craig Williams is another positive.
