Doomben Betting Tips & Preview
Betting Tips for every race at Doomben. Today’s best bet is in race 1.
Thankfully back to Doomben where we might not tip the card but any losers will be our fault not the tracks. Doomben has done a wonderful job in recent years hosting up to 80 meetings a season. But it usually plays fairly and with the rail out 4.5 metres it will give all horses their chance. Rain about again this week but Doomben is the best drying track in the state so should be close to a perfect surface.

BEST BEST: R1 – 2. OUTRAGED
Next Best Bet: R4 – 1. AHNDRAS
Best Roughie: R5 – 12. KIM NOIR
R1 - 12.17pm. POWERING THE HAPPY! OPEN Handicap - 2200m.
NO 2 OUTRAGED (Best Bet) You might think we have had a hit on the head making a horse in a Brisbane staying race a special. But Outraged is a funny horse who takes hard racing to get back to his best and he has done that with a win at this distance two starts back and then a certainty beaten last time when held up for a run. Should get the early pace to suit and with a 3kgs claim is very well weighted.
NO 5 EXPLOSIVE ONE She was a good winner this track at 2000m last time when things went her way. This distance is no worry.
NO 3 HI SON Looked set to win for the first time in two years last start but again nailed by another runner on the line. Each-way again.
NO 6 MORENDI He has been racing very well in restricted class and always tries hard. Down in weight here a big plus for him.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 6 MORENDI
R2 – 12.57pm. NOTHING BUT FUN! QTIS Two-Years-Old Handicap - 1350m.
NO 5 LADY LARK Probably should have won last start as didn't have much luck after pace of the race suddenly changed. Never runs a bad race and well placed after the claim.
NO 4 EMINENT Lived up to good first run and trial form with strong win last time at the Sunshine Coast. Looks like 1350m will suit.
NO 1 LEGADEMA He has been good at his past two wins from as many starts. This is his biggest test but has to be a chance from good barrier draw.
NO 2 PAH TERIE Things went his way when a winner this track and distance last time. Up in the weights but must be hard to beat again.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 4 EMINENT
R3 – 1.32pm. JUMP TO THE ROCKET! OPEN Handicap - 1110m.
NO 4 PINCH RIVER He was simply brilliant last start at first start from a year's spell. He was just too fast for a similar field to this. Has had a lot of hoof problems but provided he is sound he will win.
NO 1 STEEL ZIP Veteran galloper who usually runs a good race after a freshen up. Has been racing in much better company than this and is a noted weight carrier.
NO 3 LONDEHERO Very hard horse to follow. When he is in the mood he can sprint very fast for his final 200m. If he is in the right mood will be very hard to hold out.
NO 6 DIVINE CENTURI Classy mare who is coming back to racing from injury. Was one run short first-up from a long spell last time. Another who at her best would be very hard to beat.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 1 STEEL ZIP
R4 – 2.07pm. HIFLOW INDUSTRIES HIGH FIVES! QTIS Three-Years-Old Handicap - 2030m.
NO 1 AHNDRAS (Next Best Bet) Going for her fourth straight win here. Has been rated one of the most promising staying prospects in Queensland for years. Should win this with the only question mark being the fact he has been up for a long time.
NO 3 SON OF A BRUT Has always shown plenty for ability and should run this trip strongly. If he gets an easy lead might be hard to run down and has won well on this track.
NO 6 PEGAPUS Has been racing well at Ipswich and while this is harder he should be suited by this track and distance.
NO 9 PERILOUS LOVE Has won two of past three starts including one at Eagle Farm over 1800m. Best chance would probably be a wet track in this harder race.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 9 PERILOUS LOVE
R5 – 2.47pm. LOADS OF LAUGHTER! BenchMark 75 Handicap - 1630m.
NO 5 I AM THE SCULPTOR He got too far back last start but finished very well. Seems to race best away from the fence with cover and can do that from the barrier here.
NO 11 CAPETOWN HUSSEY She was very good winning at Ipswich last start and gets to the right trip for her here. Will just need some luck to get clear in the straight.
NO 12 KIM NOIR (Best Roughie) Won at Eagle Farm in easier company last start but has always shown ability. The 3kgs claim means she has a fly weight here and she has the inside barrier which means she will be right on the pace. Can lead or take a sit.
NO 2 SHEISWHATSHEIS She is probably about a length off being a really good horse but always tries hard. Recent form is solid and has a 2kgs claim.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 12 KIM NOIR
R6 – 3.27pm. SKY THOROUGHBRED CENTRAL OPEN Handicap - 1350m.
NO 3 SIEGFRIED He was racing very well in restricted class before good debut second to a very smart horse last time this track and distance. Looks the one to beat at the weights.
NO 2 JOPA Loves this track and distance. Form since a spell has been solid without being great. However, starting to edge down in the weights and some rain would help.
NO 1 RUDY The class runner who has competed against some of the best horses in Australia. Has had a break and usually races well fresh. Only trouble is the 61kgs for a horse that has now own one race in two years.
NO 6 BEST OF THE REST Former handy stayer on the comeback trail. Good run first-up over unsuitable 1110m and much better placed this trip.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 6 BEST OF THE REST
R7 – 4.12pm. WEDDINGS AT BRC Class 3 Plate - 1110m.
NO 9 LA DOLCE VITA Has never lived up to the big early wraps on her. But she is very quick and this track suits. Just needs a relatively soft lead and she will be hard to run down.
NO 15 JEST EXCEL There is a very big wrap on this filly who has won her only start in much easier company. If the wraps are right she can be in the finish despite the barrier.
NO 5 WIGGLESWORTH Rarely runs a bad race but for some reason rarely hits the line hard. One day he will win one of these.
NO 11 VINTAGE BEAUTY She will be big odds but has won a couple of races at the provincials recently and wasn't bad last start when fifth in a far stronger race.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 11 VINTAGE BEAUTY
R8 – 4.50pm. GIDDY UP CLUB Class 6 Plate - 1200m.
NO 13 COURTZA KING Finally lived up to his ability with barnstorming win this track last start. Beat a smart horse last time and looks well weighted under the Plate weight scale.
NO 7 LUCKY TOM He has raced well in much better company than this as a younger horse. Usually races well fresh and can lead here.
NO 9 OPEN BOOK Had some handy Sydney form before coming north and showed was ready to fire fresh with a good trial win recently.
NO 4 FORTINI Probably not suited at the weights but has raced against some more than handy horses in previous campaigns. Scored a strong win first-up in an easier race but has claims here.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 9 OPEN BOOK
