Doomben Betting Tips & Preview
Betting Tips for every race at Doomben. Today’s best bet is in race 3.
Doomben is backing up from last Saturday but it should again play very fairly. If there is any bias at Doomben it is usually pace related and not a track bias. There is rain about Brisbane but as we constantly say Doomben is a good drying track. But the surface will probably be softish. It looks a typical midweek meeting, which means some short priced horses will be dished up but it is always wise to look for value as these fields are usually even in ability.
QUADDIES (Races 5-6-7-8)
Wide Play: 1,2,5,11/1,2,3,6/1,2,6,7/22.214.171.124
BEST BEST: R7 – 2. PASSIONFLOWER
Next Best Bet: R6 – 2. IGNITE THE LIGHT
Best Roughie: R2 – 7. ROUND MOUNTAIN GEM
R1 – 12.27pm. BLOKES DAY OUT Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 4 Handicap - 1050m.
NO 3 WIGGLESWORTH Usually looks the winner in his races but seems to lack something at the finish. Never the less gets his chance here to win a city race. Likes soft tracks, well drawn and scratched from race he could have won on Saturday.
NO 1 COLINELLE No official trial for first start in seven months but can race well fresh and likes this track. If they go silly in front he can finish over the top of them.
NO 2 ALL TROOPS Racing consistently and good third at Eagle Farm last start. Another who needs a solid early pace so he can finish hard.
NO 4 TACTICIAN Scratched Saturday from an easier race for this. Good second at Ipswich last start and probably will get a sit just off the pace here.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 3 WIGGLESWORTH
R2 – 1.05pm. VEUVE SOCIETY MEMBERSHIP Fillies and Mares Class 4 Handicap - 1050m.
NO 4 STICK WITH ME Appreciated the return to a senior rider last start and finished hard for a good third at Eagle Farm. Down in weight here and there should be early pace to suit.
NO 3 KUZNETSOVA Returned to form with strong last-start win at Toowoomba. While not helped by the barrier still a good show here.
NO 7 ROUND MOUNTAIN GEM (Best Roughie) She will start big odds here but had handy form in the bush before a let up. Goes well fresh, likes soft tracks and has trialled solidly for this.
NO 2 I LIKE CANDY Has been racing very well with seconds in similar company past two starts. Each-way again here despite tricky barrier.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 7 ROUND MOUNTAIN GEM
R3 – 1.42pm. SKY THOROUGHBRED CENTRAL Maiden Plate - 1630m.
NO 2 ERCOLANO He was very well backed last start but ran into a smart horse and finished second. This is weak and gets his chance to win a race here.
NO 3 MONTANA PINES All four starts have been handy and never far from the winner. The 1600m suits and is the main danger to his stablemate the top weight.
NO 6 AWESOME MORE Form is solid without being anything to get too excited about. But appeals as a horse who likes the 1600m around this circuit.
NO 1 DEE CEE DELIGHTS Ran a nice second at the Sunshine Coast last start and gets in well here after a 3kgs claim.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 6 AWESOME MOVE
R4 – 2.17pm. RACEZONE Class 2 Handicap - 1630m.
NO 4 PINOLINO Never runs a bad race and excellent second first-up has him fit for this race, which isn't very strong.
NO 1 MEDIEVAL Has shown form in Sydney this campaign and although a failure there last start this suits a lot better.
NO 6 MAKURU Has been racing well with good last-start second at the Sunshine Coast following an unlucky fourth this track two runs back. Ready for 1600m now.
NO 2 AGREE TO Unlucky second this track two runs back and then disappointing at the Gold Coast. Can go better this distance.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 2 AGREE TO
R5 – 2.52pm. GALLOPERS SPORTS CLUB Maiden Handicap - 1200m.
NO 11 MIAZUMI Has taken a while to find form but past two starts have been good. Bred to be a real mud lark and although unplaced both goes on slow tracks they weren't bad runs and is better now.
NO 5 HAPPY HOOVES Started a short-priced favourite when fifth at only start. Should be a lot better for the run and this isn't very hard.
NO 1 ROCK ON DESTINY Resuming here but has been good in all three starts. Getting up in weight but does go well fresh.
NO 2 CRACKACHARGE Had three trials before having two race starts when both times was solid. Fitter now and hard to toss here.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 1 ROCK ON DESTINY
R6 – 3.35pm. WEDDINGS AT BRC QTIS Three-Years-Old Class 1 Plate - 1350m.
NO 2 IGNITE THE LIGHT (Next Best Bet) There has always been a big wrap on this horse and although it took him a while to win, he did it in style last start. He should go on to win plenty more and he has a 2kgs claim here.
NO 1 ALL PICKLED All four of his race starts have been good and although second as favourite at Beaudesert last start it was a good run because he was on the wrong part of the track on a bog.
NO 6 HIDDEN BUDGET Both her runs since a spell have been first class. Stepping up in class for last-start impressive maiden win but should be more than competitive.
NO 3 IRON CRAFT At second race start won a Gold Coast maiden beating a horse which has raced well since. This isn't much harder.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 3 IRON CRAFT
R7 – 4.15pm. WWW.BRC.COM.AU Class 5 Handicap - 1630m.
NO 2 PASSIONFLOWER (Best Bet) Surely today is the day for Passionflower. She has run a staggering 15 seconds including four of her past five starts. But she has a lot in her favour here and likes soft tracks.
NO 1 BLACKJACK BELLA Passionflower's stablemate and she hasn't had much luck in harder races of late. Coming back to 1600m which suits her better than last start unplaced run at 1800m.
NO 7 FRENCH SONG No star but always tries and does handle wet tracks. If she gets a soft lead she will take some catching.
NO 6 DREAM SPEED Would be big odds on a dry tracks but is a noted wet track horse and in particular on a heavy surface. The wetter the better for him.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 7 FRENCH SONG
R8 – 4.55pm. JOIN OUR STABLE Class 3 Plate - 1200m.
NO 6 ZENDAYE Has not lived up to his early potential but never the less continues to be around the money in similar races to this. His last-start third was behind two very promising horses.
NO 2 REAL EGO Can mix his form but good last-start win at the Sunshine Coast. Needs a solid early pace and should get that here.
NO 9 PRONTEZZA Good Ipswich winner two starts back and then run down in the final 50m by a horse which should have won on Saturday at latest outing. Time was very fast last start.
NO 4 DOUBT SHE’S A LADY She started huge odds when strong winner here first start this area. Has continued to race well.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 2 REAL EGO
