One of the few Saturday metropolitan race meetings at the Gold Coast. There is plenty of rain about and the track can chop up badly. Usually it suits horses who get away from the fence. However, the rail is true and the inside strip has not been raced on for several weeks. Big fields are the order of the day and that equals upsets so once again be careful. Hopefully, it won't end up like Eagle Farm on Monday when the fields raced on the outside fence in the straight on a soft track.

Skinny Play: 2,3/5,7/2,8,/9
Wide Play: 2,3,10,12/5,7,9,12/1,2,3,8/1,4,9,15
BEST BEST: R2 – 7. LIEDER
Next Best Bet: R3 – 4. LIGHTNING BELL
Best Roughie: R6 – 9. FAST ARROW
NO 7 MISS EXFACTOR At first start made Golden Slipper favourite Houtzen work for her money when second at Eagle Farm. Should handle a wet track as sire was a swimmer and hard to beat on first run.
NO 5 STELLA'S DREAM Has won her past two starts in easier company but has a claim here and trainer never brings horses to the metropolitan meetings unless they have a hope.
NO 1 CHIEF HAVOC Has not trialled officially for first race start here. But from a top two-year-old stable and has a leading jockey. Has to be treated with respect.
NO 4 SHOGUN SUN No luck at first start and then finished very powerfully to win at Eagle Farm on Monday. Stable had not decided whether to back up at time of writing but likely to start and has to be a top chance.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 4 SHOGUN SUN
NO 7 LIEDER (BEST BET) Won at 1200m three starts back and has been gradually building up to this distance. Put the win next time sign up when very close second over 1600m at Eagle Farm last time. Has a lot in his favour here and does handle soft tracks. Booking of Damian Browne a major sign.
NO 1 KARAKABEEL Has been slightly disappointing after scoring an impressive win this track five runs back. Might go better with a senior jockey and if ridden to lead here.
NO 2 KING RED Good Eagle Farm winner last start when started at surprisingly good odds considering his consistent form. He should run this trip and stable is noted for producing top stayers.
NO 10 ROSADOR Doesn't win many but usually about the place. Handles wet tracks and has recovered after losing his jockey last start.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 10 ROSADOR
NO 4 LIGHTNING BELL (NEXT BEST BET) He has a bad habit of wanting to pull up when near the finishing post but has gone home truly under hard riding past two starts. The 2200m suits here and this a weak field. His usual rider is suspended but has the top Gold Coast jockey.
NO 5 SKYTREK He has never lived up to the good potential he showed early but did get home well over 2400m at Eagle Farm last start and this is no harder.
NO 6 THREE POINTS Has been placed his past three starts over a middle distance and is a heavy track winner. Each-way here again.
NO 11 ENDLESS DON Never far away and ran third in a three-way photo finish over 2400m at Eagle Farm last start. His entire family are very good in the wet.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 11 ENDLESS DON
No1 LOVE AND LIES Has raced well in much better company than this and is a first-up winner. Likes wet tracks and not badly placed here after 3kgs claim.
NO 2 SASSY TYCOON Goes very fast and won three on end before recent spell. Has won a trial since and looks one of the main chances here.
NO 6 DYLAN’S LUCK Good winner this track two runs back and then little luck last start. Suited here with a lot of early pace as he can finish fast and handles wet tracks.
NO 15 HIDDEN LIGHT She can mix her form but did dead heat with a smart horse this track and distance three runs back. She will be big odds here but a chance from good barrier.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 6 DYLAN'S LUCK
NO3 NEUSCHWANSTEIN Started big odds but finished very strongly to win at Eagle Farm. Big field here no help but with luck can win again.
NO 10 MOTION GRANTED Went to the northern rivers to win last start. But is racing well and this track has always been one of his favourites. Placed six of seven starts on wet tracks without winning.
NO 12 SLYDINI Appeared to dip in loose going on the home turn when fourth at Eagle Farm last start at 1800m. Back in distance but very good in wet going.
NO 2 GOOD JOB BRO At first start for a new stable was a surprise winner at Eagle Farm. He has always had ability and might be ready to go on with it although can be hard to catch.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 10 MOTION GRANTED
NO 5 COLOUR CHARGE He is probably better on good tracks but has handled slow going on occasions. Latest form is very strong for a race like this with good Listed win at Eagle Farm over 1600m last time. He is looking for 1800m now.
NO 9 FAST ARROW (BEST ROUGHIE) Won this track and distance in restricted company under 61kgs here and has a major weight drop here. Has been placed in Group Three company as a three-year-old. Always an each-way hope.
NO 7 FRIENDLY DRAGON Hard to catch but always hard to beat when can get an easy sit on the leader and on a wet track. He should get both here and three times winner this track.
NO 3 SHOREHAM Light of better days when he was a top Victorian stayer. But form this area is solid enough to be a chance here and likes the sting out of the track.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 3 SHOREHAM
NO 1 SIR MOMENTS He has lengths on these in ability. Kept fresh since first-up win at 1400m and back to 1200m here. Big weight but handles wet tracks and will get the early pace here to let him run home hard.
NO 3 UPSTART PRIDE Very fast horse who is finally racing truly. Can be tricky at the start but has jumped cleanly last few starts for two wins and a second. The one to beat from a perfect barrier.
NO 8 HI I'M BACK Restricted class horse who won at Eagle Farm under a big weight last start. Down in weight and handles the wet tracks very well.
NO 2 FLAMBOYER He is lengths better on wet tracks but is very honest on all surfaces. Also entered for the Newcastle Newmarket but probably will start here.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 8 HI I'M BACK
NO 9 BEAUDACIOUS Had two trials for comeback run when got to the line strongly after having trouble getting a run when second at Eagle Farm. He has won second-up and this race should be run to suit.
NO 1 TYZONE Very promising former north Queensland galloper who was an impressive last-start Doomben winner. Up in weight back against his own class but very hard to bet after the 1.5kgs claim.
NO 4 I'M A RIPPA Racing very well and good last-start winner in midweek class. Deserves his chance at Saturday class and has a good barrier and light weight here.
NO 15 SCORCHA Won a maiden by a big space at second race start. Is very promising and well up to winning this.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 15 SCORCHA
