FORM COMMENT

No7 TYPHOON MONACO

Was steady in the netting at $4.40 before finishing a solid second over 2040m against her own sex here on March 13. Noel Callow replaces Dwyane Dunn and she drops 2kg to 56.5kg.

No4 POPPIHOLLA

Is ticking over like a Swiss watch and can be in the firing line on her last-start third over 2040m here against her own sex on March 13. Beau Mertens is the new rider and his 2kg claim sees her carry 55.5kg.

No2 MIGHTIEST

Went to the line strongly when finishing second over 2060m at Cranbourne on March 3. Gets top jockey Mark Zahra to steer here and carries 59kg again. Has been most honest and respect.

No1 WELLS

Get apprentice Boris Thornton’s 3kg claim to alleviate his big weight to 59.5kg first-up here. He won the Grand National over the jumps trip of 4500m at his last start in the spring.

TYPHOON MONACOMoonee Valley 07:30 - Winner

R3 – 7.30pm. PKF Plate – 1200m.

No1 KEN’S DREAM

Will be seeking to turn-the-tables on Falcool after fighting hard but going down first-up down the straight 1100m at Flemington on March 11 as a $4.60 favourite. He is a most reliable sprinter and drops a kilo to 58.5kg.

No2 FALCOOL

Has ace Sydney jockey Hugh Bowman to ride again after causing something of an upset win over 1100m at Flemington on March 11. He does rise 3kg to 58.kg at his rematch with Ken’s Dream here.

No6 DEMOLITION

Went out on a high landing smart wins at his past two starts including over 1250m at Canterbury on October 21. Switches to Victoria for his return but has been well prepared on the trial tracks for this.

No4 MATTY

Has won at three of his four starts and may pay to overlook his unplaced run down the straight 1100m at Flemington on March 11. He meets a similar field here and won here two starts ago. Warrants respect.

FORM COMMENT

No1 CORUSCATE

Was speared straight into Group class from a maiden win three starts ago. Latest ran a solid second in the Group 3 Pago Pago Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill on March 13. Looks suited at the set-weights here.

No3 MURAAQEB

Leaped straight into Group company off maiden debut win when ran third in the Group 3 Black Opal (1200m) at Canberra on March 5. Gets Craig Williams replacing Mark Zahra and makes strong claims.

No2 SHOWTIME

Drops down a few notches here on last-start fourth in the Group 2 Todman (1200m) at Randwick on March 4. That was a Heavy 9 and is back on top of the ground here and has Dwayne Dunn to pilot.

No6 DOUBT I’M DREAMING

Is by leading sire Not A Single Doubt and showed pace at recent trial to finish second over 800m at Cranbourne on March 20. Has Jamie Mott to ride at his debut and though he does bump into some smart ones is a place chance.

VALUE RUNNER:

No6 DOUBT I’M DREAMING

R4 – 8.00pm. Inglis 55 Second Challenge Heat 16 – 955m.

No5 PETITS FILOUS

Has not raced for nearly a year after finishing 13th in Group 1 Swetenham Stud Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville on May7. Has a fabulous record fresh and loves this track with a two-three ratio.

No1 SIRBIBLE

Has been kept fresh for this after racing at Group 2 level in the Australia Stakes (1200m) on January 27. Building a smart record at this track with three wins and a third from six starts. Does have a steadier on 60kg.

No2 TUSCAN SLING

Was racing at Group level in Adelaide last autumn. Last start ran seventh in the Group 3 Proud Miss Stakes on May 21. Loves this track and with Jordan Childs’ 1.5kg claim carries 58.5kg first-up.

No9 PUNT CLUB (BEST ROUGHIE)

Has earned his stripes for this race with a tenacious win over 955m here on March 17. Backs up here and again has Damian Lane to direct. He is at lucrative odds and has not put a hoof wrong with two wins and three placings from his past five starts.

VALUE RUNNER:

No9 PUNT CLUB

R5 – 8.30pm. Art Series Hotel Group Alexandra Stakes – 1600m.

No1 ELLICAZOOM (NEXT BEST BET)

Is a star WA filly who has thrived here at her two starts in Group company. Made another good impression to run I Am A Star to a close second in the Group 3 Kewney Stakes (1400m) at Flemington on March 11. Suited under the set-weight and penalty clause here on 56.5kg and has stable jockey Steven Parnham again flying over to ride. Classy act.

No4 PENINSULA LINKS

Matthew Neilson travels across from Adelaide to ride this three-year-old filly. She has been mowing down her opposition at home.

No8 MRS GARDENIA

Has won at her past two starts and is a model of consistency.

No7 FRAGONARD

Sydney filly switched to Melbourne to make her comeback. Form is top class.

VALUE RUNNER:

No7 FRAGONARD

No10  I AM A STAR (BEST BET)

Is a Group 1 winner over this distance at Flemington in the Myer Classic last spring. Relished her comeback to mares’ class with a clever win in the Group 3 Kewney Stakes at Flemington on March 11. Again lines up here against her own sex and is on the bottom of the scale on 54kg. Dean Yendell sticks and she looks hard to beat.

No1 RISING ROMANCE

Had support first-up and would expect natural improvement.

No5 CIRCULAR

Craig Williams is the new rider and won Group 3 Matron Stakes last start against her own sex.

No6 TURBO MISS

Won the Group 3 Tressady Stakes last start. Craig Williams is replaced by Damian Lane.

No5 HANDSOME THIEF

Posted an arrogant 3½ lengths win here over 1200m on March 13. Brad Rawiller rides here on 59.5kg, which is a half-kilo drop in weight. Has won at two and been placed second at three starts.

No1 TIGIDIG TIGIDIG

Has a big weight but his form has been impressive. Latest landed a hat-trick here over with 58.5kg on his back. Boris Thornton’s 3kg claim reduces his impost to 59.5kg, which puts him into the race.

No7 EL SICARIO

Was backed into a $3.60 favourite first-up when running fourth over 955m here on February 24. Has been kept fresh for this and has top jockey Mark Zahra to ride. Drops a half-kilo to 58kg and makes claims.

No8 NIC NAC

Has been in super form winning at his past two provincial starts by 3½ and 2¼ lengths. Loves this distance and he is down a kilo to 58.5kg here but he has a wide draw in 15. Take on trust at his first start here.
