Doomben Betting Tips & Preview
Betting Tips for every race at Doomben. Today’s best bet is in race 5.
The third meeting at Doomben in a week with the rail out 10m the entire way. Doomben has done a great job in recent years and it is a good drying track. Not many other tracks would have raced either day in the past week with the amount rain Doomben copped. There has been drying weather but more rain is predicted. The track will be at least soft and let us hope there isn't the scratching festival which has dogged Brisbane racing in recent months.

R1 – 12.35pm. CHANNEL 7 BRISBANE RACING CARNIVAL 2017 Class 2 Handicap - 1660m.
NO 3 LIKE A RULER Has taken a while to reach his potential but a good winner last start at Eagle Farm. This distance suits and likes wet tracks.
NO 1 ONE MANSINI All three runs this campaign were good and followed Sunshine Coast win with very unlucky fourth at Eagle Farm in a harder race.
NO 2 DOT PAINTING Excellent Doomben maiden winner before last-start second on a shifty track. Big chance here if he can get an easy lead which he should.
NO 6 ANTIGONE Did the right thing by us when won at big odds coming from last at Eagle Farm. Will need a solid pace early but chance again.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 6 ANTIGONE
R2 – 1.10pm. JAMES BOAG'S PREMIUM DOOMBEN 10,000 DAY Fillies & Mares Maiden Plate - 1200m.
NO 6 HIRTSHALS Has had no official trial for comeback run here. Wasn't far behind some handy maiden horses in two starts last campaign. This is weak and stable noted for first-up winners at good odds.
NO 10 TAY SWIFT Has had a trial where she ran last since two good runs earlier this month. Should be a lot fitter and this isn't very strong.
NO 9 ROCK GARDEN Three race starts have been good and has had no luck in any of them. Has to be an each-way chance in this.
NO 3 BIG CALL She was very ordinary at first race start in Sydney. But now trained at Caloundra and trialled nicely there recently.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 6 HIRTSHALS
R4 – 2.25pm. DARLEY KINGSFORD SMITH CUP DAY QTIS Three-Years-Old Class 1 Plate - 1050m.
NO 10 SMOOCH This is a big step up from his last-start Sunshine Coast win in a maiden. But really liked the way he hit the line and loves wet tracks.
NO 4 BONSHO Has been working well in Toowoomba and lived up to that when won a maiden at Eagle Farm last start. Very fast and suited here.
NO 1 SHARPAMAL Trialled well at the Gold Coast and then lived up to that with strong win that track last start. This harder but has claims.
NO 2 SOCIAL CONQUEST Has good form for a race like this last campaign. But drawn poorly here and will need touch of luck.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 10 SMOOCH
R5 – 3.05pm. TREASURY BRISBANE LADIES OAKS DAY Colts, Geldings & Entires CL3 Plate - 1350m.
NO 8 DREAMS A PLENTY Won a good standard Class 3 last start in strong fashion. Considered a future stakes horse and looks too good for these at the weights.
NO 4 OCEAN CITY Won two races in good fashion before had no luck last start when unplaced in a harder race. Back in his right grade here.
NO 1 APOLOBOOM Had good southern form and racing solidly of late this area. Drawn to get a good run here.
NO 3 CHAMAREL Scratched Saturday to run here. Scored at big odds last start after trialing well in Toowoomba. Chance again.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 3 CHAMAREL
R6 – 3.40pm. UBET STRADBROKE DAY Fillies and Mares Class 3 Plate - 1350m.
NO 9 MARABEL Winner this track in soft going and good Ipswich winner back in February. Had an easy trial since and won't find a much easier midweek race.
NO 4 REALLY SURE Has shown staying ability but good fourth first up at the Gold Coast. This distance suits now.
NO 7 RED CHANDELIER Usually about the place this type of race and placed four of five goes on soft tracks.
NO 2 PANCH KALYAN Form at the Gold Coast has been solid for a race like this and handles wet tracks.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 7 RED CHANDELIER
R7 – 4.20pm. ASCOT GREEN COCKTAIL HIGH TEA Class 5 Handicap - 1050m.
NO 10 SNITZEL'S JOY Has come back from a career threatening injury to now be heading for three wins in a row.
NO 1 JOHNHRO Resuming here but has trialled well and goes extra good first-up. Also very good on wet tracks and has a 3kgs claim.
NO 11 PRIMED FOR DESTINY Resuming here but has good wet-track form and always about the place at odds these type of races.
NO 5 KHALEEQ Handles wet tracks and won his past two starts in good fashion. The barrier in a field full of speed the problem.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 1 JOHNHRO
R8 – 4.55pm. BRC MEMBERSHIP Bench Mark 65 Handicap - 1110m.
NO 6 RED HANDLE Has won his past two starts in impressive fashion with a strong finish. Has always been rated very highly by his stable and can make it three in a row here.
NO 2 MOVING PRESS He has won his past two starts in easier races but stable has a very big opinion of him.
NO 7 SUGAR RAY RED Has won two of past three starts in easier company but will be suited by a fast early pace and has a top jockey.
NO 11 BAGUS Former top two-year-old who showed something like her old form when a first-up fourth. Ready to return to winners list here.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 11 BAGUS
