The rain should clear for tonight’s meeting at Cranbourne, but it has been wet for the past few days and the temperatures have been cool. Cool night ahead with a maximum of 17C forecast and the minimum tipped to drop to a chilly 9C. The clouds will remain above today but the weather bureau say there is little chance of further rain so the track rating of a Good 4 should stay. The rail will be at the true position.

No4 CRYSTAL WINGS Wears a nose-roll for the first time and this is easier.
No5 KHARIR Was well liked but did not fire in Adelaide. Blinkers go on here.
No7 PERISTROPHE From an astute stable and capable of being a force.
VALUE RUNNER: No7 PERISTROPHE
No5 LILYMORN Has been consistent and can get a deserved win.
No2 ART SHE QUICK Down in grade on last start against her own sex and age here in a maiden.
No9 TESTA LIFE Has been placed at all of her four starts. Is a threat.
No7 PENTHOUSE KITTEN Not raced since running in the Group 1 VRC Oaks in November. Goes well fresh.
VALUE RUNNER: No7 PENTHOUSE KITTEN
No5 TROUBLE BOUND Can end a desperate losing streak with four seconds at past four starts.
No11 MISS CAVATICA Has been finishing in the main pack and can do again.
No9 JAZAHAR Has been placed at past two starts this class. Will have the Weir polish.
No2 GOLLY OLLY (BEST ROUGHIE) Not had much luck and could bob up here without surprising.
VALUE RUNNER: No2 GOLLY OLLY
No5 YULONG XIONG BA Showed a heap of promise at debut campaign. Can capitalize.
No8 BISEAU She has not lived up to expectations but is a worthy opponent here.
No9 LA RENARDE Goes well fresh but the wide gate (13) is a concern.
No7 ULTIMATE QUEST Found the winner too strong first-up but will be fitter.
VALUE RUNNER: No9 LA RENARDE
No4 NEW GRADUATE Was racing second up as a $2.60 favourite when running third over 1400m at Mildura on March 12. Gets Irish jockey John Allen as new partner and will be polished.
No1 PLENTY TO LIKE Won at prior start before finishing third over 1200m at Moonee Valley against her own sex on March 17. Luke Nolen keeps the ride, but as a three-year-old she is loaded with top-weight on 60.5kg
No3 PHOENIX PARK Claimed a good win as a $3.30 favourite over 1469m at Kyneton on March 20. Penalised a kilo to 59.5kg for that win but retains Jamie Mott as the rider.
No6 SHENANDOAH Finished with a flourish to win over 1400m here on March 10. Jumps 2kg to 58kg for that effort and is up a grade here. The three-year-old filly is lightly-raced and has improvement.
VALUE RUNNER: No6 SHENANDOAH
No1 HE’S OUR WOODY (BEST BET) Showed natural speed to lead but was nailed by the smart Odeon over 1400m at Bendigo on March 14. He has been in the money at all of his three starts. He won his maiden two starts ago and from gate two he can use his gate to go forward again.
No4 PERFECTLY SAFE Faced tougher opponents recently and will relish the easier class.
No5 BETTYRAE RUBY Ear muffs go on for the first time. Trial form indicates she is ready.
No6 BUBBA’S CALL Was a good winner over 1600m at Werribee in a maiden. Rates a chance now.
VALUE RUNNER: No5 BETTYRAE RUBY
No6 TABLE OF WISDOM Has not put a hoof wrong winning at his debut at Morphettville before finishing second over 1550m at the same track on March 11. Goes up 2kg to 59kg for his drop in class here.
No12 HIGH BOUNTY Won at penultimate start. Resumed from a 76-day break to run a solid third over 1600m against her own sex at Pakenham on March 16. She drops 2kg to 55.5kg and rates well.
No3 MOMENTARY Has been in top form on country tracks finishing second three times and winning once at his past four starts. Ran a good second over 2100m last start on March 12 and rates with claims.
No11 SHE’S GOT SPEED Was trapped three deep last start and fought on steadily to run fifth over 2040m at Moonee Valley on March 13. Daniel Moor is the new rider and is well weighted on 56.5kg.
VALUE RUNNER: No11 SHE’S GOT SPEED
No1 NORTHKAPE (NEXT BEST BET) Carried 55.5kg with Nathan Punch’s claim when running a good second here over 1000m on March 10. Punch’s claim will see him carry 58kg here against a mild field and he is well drawn in gate six to gain a soft run in transit. He loves this track with three wins and two seconds at seven starts.
No11 DUNGENESS Explosive six-length win in maiden but is up in grade here.
No7 TRICKY GLEN Racing most honestly and should again be a force.
No10 ANNAH HAZE Finished inside the quartet at past five starts. Most reliable.
VALUE RUNNER: No10 ANNAH HAZE
