Sunshine Coast (Wednesday) Betting Preview & Tips

Betting tips for every race at Sunshine Coast. Today’s best bet is in race 4.

Tue, 11 Apr, 7:45 AM

The Sunshine Coast has done more than its fair share of heavy lifting since Eagle Farm was closed again. This will be its fifth meeting in the past two weeks. It is starting to show signs of wear and tear. But it should again play fairly. As it carries metropolitan prize money there is again plenty of depth to the fields. But be careful as the track is starting to throw up more than average upset results.

QUADDIES (races 5,6,7,8)

Wide Play: 1,4,6,7/1,3,8,11/1,2,4,7/1,2,5,10

Next Best Bet: R1 – 2. ANTIGONE

Best Roughie: R5 - 6. FAVULOUS FLOYD

R1 - 3.20pm. Sunshine Coast Daily Class 1 Handicap - 1600m.

No2 ANTIGONE (NEXT BEST BET) Stormed home against the pattern of the day when second last start this track. Good maiden winner previously and provided there is early pace will be running home hard here.

No1 MADLUCE MISSILE Let us down badly last start this track and distance when well beaten fourth but didn't have much luck. Worth another chance here.

No4 SHERRIN THE LOVE Good winner in a maiden over 1400m here last start. This is harder but not much harder.

No6 KERMANDIE STAR Has been racing well without winning. Good third here and at this distance latest on a heavy track. Wet track would help.

ANTIGONERace 1 Sunshine coast daily class 1 handicap - Winner

R2 – 3.55pm - John Burgess Electrical Fillies and Mares Maiden Plate - 1000m

No7 HIRTSHALS Her three runs have all been good and will be a lot fitter for a first-up fourth this track over 1200m. Back in distance but a chance here from good barrier.

No11 SHE'S ON POINT Starting to get costly but has been placed four of seven race starts. Barrier no help but has the early pace to overcome it.

No10 QUEEN OF SAVANNAH First start and no official trial but from top stable and has reportedly worked well. Keep very safe here.

No12 TURQUOISE Last campaign was only ordinary in two race starts. But we liked her trail when placed at Deagon recently and deserves respect here.

HIRTSHALSRace 2 John burgess electrical fillies and mares maiden plate - Winner

R3 – 4.35pm. Paddy Walsh Painting Colts and Geldings Maiden Plate - 1000m.

No2 EXCEED ALL ODDS Impressed in two starts late last year before being sent for a break. Trialled well at Deagon last week when a solid winner. This distance and track suit first-up.

No6 APACHE BOOM First starter but caught the eye with recent Deagon trial win over a horse which has since won. Reportedly pretty smart and well drawn here.

No7 DESERT COWBOY Another first starter who has trialled nicely having run second in a Sunshine Coast trial. Stable can produce a first-up winner.

No8 DOMINANT CROWN NSW provincial form was handy before ordinary effort at Doomben first start this area. He was well backed that day so keep safe here.

R4 – 5.10pm. Pryde's Easifeed QTIS Three Year Old Maiden - 1200m.

No1 ALL PLUCK (BEST BET) It isn't often we would make a special in a three-year-old maiden. But there has always been a big opinion of this horse and he raced well in two starts this campaign. Just out slogged when close second at Doomben last time but gets his chance against this field.

No3 CORNFORTH Consistent place-getter and just needs some luck to finally win a race. The barrier no help here but has better form than most of these.

No7 RED RIGHT OUT His racing style means he gets into his share of trouble in big fields. But racing well and suited by this long straight.

No14 LOVE BITES He will be big odds here but two runs have been better than they look on paper. He will be fitter and well-drawn here.

R5 – 5.55pm - Glovers Concreting Pty Ltd Rating Band 0-65 Handicap - 2200m.

No6 FAVULOUS FLOYD (BEST ROUGHIE) He hasn't won for a while and will be big odds here. Well beaten at Ballina last start on a bog track but his form on dry tracks has been solid for a race like this. His only win was at this trip and he has no weight after a 2kgs claim. If he gets an easy lead, which he should, he could be something to beat.

No7 SHE GOES POP She is staring to get costly with three minor placings and a fourth at past four starts. But has had no luck in most of her races and this distance should suit.

No1 ANSWERED Plugger who is a genuine stayer. Ran a good second at Gatton last start after a win at his previous start. Has won at 2200m and handles all types of tracks.

No4 NOSSUH Never runs a bad race and was good second at Doomben last start. Only problem stepping up from 1600m to 2200m.

R6 – 6.25pm. Pelican Motors Service Centre Class 3 Handicap - 1000m.

No1 MISERY Promising horse whose career has been stalled on several occasions for various reasons. The latest when his entire stable was shut down by a strangles outbreak. It did not hit him but he has been away from the races for four months. Has a great fresh record, a claim and a race to suit.

No3 ORADONNA A very smart mare who was racing in much better company before a spell. Has had a jump out for her comeback and usually goes okay first-up.

No11 JILL'S CHARM Resuming here from a four-month break. She likes this track and has a good first-up record. The one best off at the weights.

No8 TYPECAST It has been a long while since he won. Former NSW galloper, who has had two starts this area without placing. But has had no luck either run and rates a hope at very big odds here.

MISERYRace 6 Pelican motors service centre class 3 handicap - Winner

R7 – 7.05pm. Sommer's Fuel Supplies Class 2 Handicap - 1400m.

No2 COBRA QUICK Much-improved galloper who has won his past two starts this track. Starting to get up in the weights but this isn't hard and can win again.

No1 DUKE DE VEGA Good winner first-up but got too far back when fifth here on a heavy track over 1200m. He is suited out to 1400m.

No7 HIDDEN GOLD Usually get a long way out his ground which is a problem in most races. But has been placed this track and distance past two starts so has another each-way chance.

No4 FINAL ZERO Gets up on the pace and racing very well of late. A strong win at 1200m last start but 1400m is no worry.

COBRA QUICK Race 7 Sommers fuel supplies class 2 handicap - Winner

R8 – 7.40pm. South East Civil Class 1 Handicap - 1200m.

No1 MR STRACHAN At second race start showed a lot of pace to win a Doomben maiden over 1200m. This isn't much harder and top chance again.

No2 SOCIAL CONQUEST Hasn't raced in over a year but has been reportedly working very well. Had good two-year-old form and if he can reproduce that would be hard to beat.

No5 DIVINE DICE Not a bad run when fifth at Doomben last start in March when had no luck. Has since been back to the trial and we liked her second at Deagon behind a smart horse last week.

No10 MISS MISSILE Former Victorian who won first-up for stable last campaign. Has trialled nicely for comeback run here and could surprise.

MR STRACHAN Race 8 South east civil class 1 handicap - Winner
