Newcastle (Thursday) Betting Preview & Tips
Betting tips for every race at Newcastle. Today’s best bet is in race 3.
Newcastle is our midweek provincial meeting this week, only 77 acceptances for 8 races? What is doing, the Newcastle track since we have reopened it has been nothing short of fantastic. The rail is in the true position and we will have a good track.

R1 – 12.40pm. Steel City FP Benchmark 65 Handicap - 2300m.
No 2 PACKEN comes out of a good race last start in which the form should hold up quite well. He is a winner at the distance before and gets a good claim.
No 4 DESTINATION TUCSON has been going well as of late and gets a chance to break through again, she is down 3kgs from last start.
No 1 FLY TILL DAWN comes out of the Packen race and wasn’t too bad there, this is a step down in grade and he has a chance.
No 3 ART OF DEFENCE looks to be next best in what is quite a thin race.
VALUE RUNNER: No 4 DESTINATION TUCSON
R2 – 1.15pm. Beat Cancer @ Work Maiden Plate - 900m.
No 4 MOONLIGHT WALTZ
No 5 REMODIFY
No 1 KRILENCU
No 3 SETTLERS
VALUE RUNNER: No 1 KRILENCU
R3 – 1.50pm. Hunter Charity Provincial & Country Maiden Handicap - 1300m.
No 1 BASE CAMP (BEST BET) If you were on it last start, I apologise. It should have won – I don’t know what the apprentice was thinking there. Tommy jumps aboard here and I think he will roll along and take up the speed and he should be winning this off his recent form.
No 2 SUNNIC KING found the line well enough fresh, and the step to 1300m shouldn’t worry.
No 7 JUST TWO VEES ran a quick sectional late last start in the same race as Sunnic King and has to be respected.
No 3 WAIHEKE ISLAND has been running well as of late and looking as if he wants further and it should suit here.
VALUE RUNNER: No 7 JUST TWO VEES
R4 – 2.25pm. The Hunter Celebrant Maiden Plate - 1300m.
No 4 MOUNT PANORAMA (NEXT BEST) one more chance, this is just the second maiden that he has run in ever. His form explains itself and is fantastic. If he wants to win he will simple as that. The trial leading in was good enough.
No 8 HELLO BEAUTY is Hong Kong owned and will probably end up there. He has trialled well enough leading in.
No 9 ISLE OF CAPRI has trialled up well leading into this leading in. Form out of the debut run was good enough.
No 10 THE BAR good enough fresh and should improve here.
VALUE RUNNER: No 9 ISLE OF CAPRI

No 8 RAISE AN ARMY
No 11 CAPEABEEL
No 9 SHAOLIN KUNGFU

No 8 MAKFI LASS
No 5 ALLEZ BIEN
No 4 HURRY
VALUE RUNNER: No 8 MAKFI LASS
R8 – 4.50pm. Hotel Denman Class 1 Hcp - 1400m.
No 5 MR TICKETS (BEST ROUGHIE) has trialled up well leading into the fresh run here. He has some nice form around him and although he won at Nowra last start it should be respected.
No 6 LORD KINGSLEY hit the line well upon resumption and the form should hold up well here.
No 1 BLUETWENTYTWO had good New Zealand form before coming across here and his two runs so far have been quite good.
No 2 LEVEL EIGHT has been going well enough as of late to have a chance here.
VALUE RUNNER: No 5 MR TICKETS
