Ipswich (Wednesday) Betting Preview & Tips

Betting tips for every race at Ipswich. Today’s best bet is in race 4.

Wed, 26 Apr, 1:25 AM

Back to Ipswich for another midweek prize money race meeting which means the fields are good with plenty of depth. As always the track will suit those horses who can race on the pace in most events. However, horses can come from well behind here but usually in races where there is a lot of early speed.

Next Best Bet: R1 - 6. WAKE UP JEFF

Best Roughie: R7 – 12. DIETERS

R1 – 12.25pm. CFMEU Mining and Energy QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap - 1527m.

No6 WAKE UP JEFF (NEXT BEST BET) He has been getting better with racing and better as the distances get longer. Strong third at the Gold Coast before last start unlucky second in Toowoomba. Will be handy odds but hard to beat.

No5 MISPRINT Keeps being slow to jump which doesn't help chances. But has run some very good races in city class.

No4 MEIKAS Good win at first start at the Sunshine Coast and then fifth in a blanket finish in a Saturday race at Doomben. Will be favourite here and hard to beat but just a little query at the 1500m.

No8 SCURRY Hit the line hard last start in a shorter race at Warwick. This is harder but not without some claims.

WAKE UP JEFF (NEXT BEST BET) Ipswich 03:25 - Winner

R2 – 1.00pm. Channel 7 Maiden Hcp - 1200m.

No3 SILVER FOX Very good effort from a wide barrier when second at the Sunshine Coast at first run back from a spell. Consistent and gets his chance here.

No1 PRINCE OF TIE Returned from a very long spell when an excellent fourth at the Sunshine Coast when another runner lay in on him for 200m. Ready to win.

No2 ROCK ON DESTINY Has had a few chances in this class but no luck first up when well beaten at Doomben. Has better form than most of these.

No13 LAKOUDIS Another who has had plenty of chances and an emergency here. Should get a run and usually about the place money this class.

R3 – 1.35pm. Labour Day Races May 1 Class 1 Hcp - 1527m.

No10 MISS MISSILE Caught the eye with fast finishing effort at the Sunshine Coast last start when second. Lightly raced and looking for this trip now.

No1 FUSI FOX Likes to get up on the pace and drawn to do that here. Forget last start when well beaten at the Gold Coast and go on win this track three runs back.

No8 NAMIB Former Victorian galloper who won at last start. Has trialled solidly for first start this area.

No2 HUNGRY LIKE A WOLF Charged home to win last start at Warwick and this race isn't much tougher. Each-way claims here.

R4 – 2.10pm. Sky Racing Class 3 Plate - 1020m.

No4 TACTICIAN (BEST BET) Has been scratched few times lately but good run first-up when second behind a smart horse and has a 3kgs claim and a good barrier here.

No1 KAPSTAR He has done the right thing winning his past two starts. Up in the weights and has a bad barrier but has the pace to overcome it.

No7 STRINDBERG Former Sydney horse who had fair form there. But we liked his two recent trials and looks ready to race well here.

No12 GOOD TO BE GREAT No star but usually gives his best. This easier than last start failure at the Sunshine Coast and was racing well before that.

TACTICIAN (BEST BET) Ipswich 05:10 - Winner

R5 2.45pm. Free Entry Labour Day Monday Fillies and Mares Benchmark 75 - 1200m.

No1 MAGNUS COR She is a quality mare and a lot fitter for two runs back from a spell. She does get back in the field in her races but plenty of pace early here and will be storming home.

No3 FLO JO SNIP Flying mare who knows only one speed and that is flat out. She has been running in longer and harder races of late and back to her pet distance here.

No5 ASSERTORY She has been scratched a few times from harder races to run here. On her day would win this and has the class to overcome the bad barrier.

No7 RED CHANDELIER Very honest and deserved her last-start win in a handy race this track. Each-way claims again.

MAGNUS COR Ipswich 05:45 - Winner

R6 – 3.20pm. City of Ipswich Benchmark 75 - 1700m.

No2 BLACKJACK BELLA Racing against better company of late and good third at Doomben in a city Saturday race last start. Has been a while between wins but gets a chance here.

No4 BENTLES Has never lived up to the early boom on him but is well placed this class and distance. Will be a lot fitter for two runs from a spell and might lead here.

No11 THE EQUALIZER Usually races well this track and this distance should suit. Gets back in his races but should get the early pace to suit here.

NO6 GRESELIN Landed some good bets at value odds last start when a winner this track. Extra distance here is no worry.

BLACKJACK BELLA Ipswich 06:20 - Winner

R7 – 3.55pm. Free Family Fun Day Monday colts, geldings and entires Benchmark 75 - 1200m

No11 LOTHARIO Liked the way he hit the line last start when third at the Sunshine Coast first-up. Probably best over more ground but this is weak and he will get plenty of early pace to suit him.

No10 REAL GOOD Has been disappointing after showing a lot of potential as a two-year-old. Now four year’s old but back in the right class at the right distance here.

No12 DIETERS (BEST ROUGHIE) Looked like being a star when won some two-year-old races impressively and then no luck in the Group Three Black Opal last season. Has had a wind operation and only fair first-up. But fitter and on best form would win by six lengths here.

No7 RELAMPAGO Honest and strong winner last start at the Gold Coast. He is never far away in these type of races.

LOTHARIOIpswich 06:55 - Winner

R8 – 4.35pm. Free Fairground Monday QTIS Three Year Old Class 1 Hcp - 1200m.

R8 – 4.35pm. Free Fairground Monday QTIS Three Year Old Class 1 Hcp - 1200m.

No6 RHYMING Quality filly who has had her share of problems. But does go well fresh and should be able to get a nice trail here.

No4 DOWNLOADING Stable has a good opinion of him but has a bad barrier for first run back since December when second at the Sunshine Coast. Has the top jockey here so respect.

No10 HIRTSHALS Very strong win at the Sunshine Coast last start. This is harder but looks promising and one of the better hopes.

No8 SHARPAMAL Has plenty of pace and good winner at the Gold Coast before last start Doomben failure. This suits a lot better and should lead here.

RHYMINGIpswich 07:35 - Winner
