Eagle Farm (Wednesday) Betting Preview & Tips

Betting tips for every race at Eagle Farm. Today’s best bet is in race 3.

Tue, 2 May, 12:54 AM

As we pointed out last Saturday there are major problems with the racing surface at Eagle Farm. It raced like a soft seven (very slow) track when we had only received 2mm (five points) of rain in a fortnight. Who knows what will happen if we get 25mm (an inch). Our special won and our second special got beaten a small margin when he had no luck. But several other of our tips disappeared up to their hocks and couldn't get in the finish. In other words we advise to tread wearily and stick with horses, where possible, who have shown they can handle the track.

QUADDIES (races 5,6,7,8)

Skinny Play: 2-4/1/6.10/12

Wide Play: 2,4,6,14/1,3,6,7/4,6,10,12/2,4,7,12

Next Best Bet:  R6 – 1. SECRET MO

Best Roughie: R4 – 8. HIDDEN GOLD

R1 – 12.02pm. Chanel 7 Brisbane Racing Carnival C,G,E Maiden Hcp - 1400m.

No4 KUTTAMURRA AL The fact he is still a maiden is truly amazing as he has run some good races against top company horses. He hasn't run since November and his first-up record is terrible. But he trialled very well wining at Deagon last month which indicates this might finally be his campaign. This is very weak.

No8 SAVWELL He was well in the market at first race start when no luck and third at the Sunshine Coast. Suited here at this distance.

No1 BROOKE EXPRESS Another resuming here but has some handy form in provincial maidens and we did like his second in a recent Gold Coast trial.

No6 REAL GANADOR He was average at first race start but much better effort when third last time. Not the worst here by a long way.

KUTTAMURRA AL Eagle Farm 03:02 - Winner

R2 – 12.37pm. James Boag's Doomben 10,000 Day Fillies and Mares Maiden Plate - 1400m.

No4 BIG PUSSY CAT Two runs back from a spell have been handy and looked winner at 200m before just tiring final 100m at the Sunshine Coast last start. Fitter now and trained this track.

No7 IRISH VICE This is weak and has a great chance here on last-start second at the Sunshine Coast when probably should have won.

No9 LIQUID RAIN Nice effort when second at the Gold Coast last start and has a claim here which means she gets in well at the weights.

No10 NORTHERN DIVINE Former Townsville galloper who has turned in three nice runs since coming south. No luck at all when fourth in harder race at the Sunshine Coast last time.

R3 – 1.17pm. Novotel Brisbane Airport QTIS Three Year Old Hcp - 2237m.

No2 DAZZLE EM SID (BEST BET) He has been big odds at some of his past three starts but racing very well. Ran third behind two extra smart horses in the Toowoomba Guineas and then no luck when second at the Gold Coast over 1800m. Handles wet and dry tracks but only worry is failed only start this track but that was as a younger horse.

No1 ISN'T SHE ELEGANT Beat Dazzle Em Sid in a slogging go at the Gold Coast last start and is consistent. Looks the main danger here but just a slight doubt at the 2200m on her breeding.

No6 FLIGHT PRINCE Didn't mind the way he finished off his last start 200m when fifth at the Gold Coast over 1800m. He is one horse who should like the 2200m and from noted stable which produces stayers.

No7 SAINT ELEMENT Not a bad run when fourth over 1700m in Grafton last start. Still a maiden but indicates staying could be his go this campaign.

DAZZLE EM SID (BEST BET) Eagle Farm 04:17 - Winner

R4 – 1.57pm. Hardy Brothers Doomben Cup Day Fillies and Mares Class 3 - 1200m.

No2 FLIRTATIOUS FEMME Very good winner last start at the Gold Coast which followed a good trial second at the same track. Gets her chance to win in midweek class here.

  1. HIDDEN GOLD (BEST ROUGHIE) Gets back in her races but can hit the line hard. Good recent fourth at the Sunshine Coast and has been placed two from three goes this track.

No1 GRACEVILLE Best known as a Sunshine Coast horse but nice run last start at Doomben when looked winner at the 150m but swamped late to finish fifth. This is easier.

No3 LOOSE GOOSE Former NSW country horse who is having her first start this area for a top stable. No trial but has form in some handy provincial races.

FLIRTATIOUS FEMME Eagle Farm 04:57 - Winner

R5 – 2.37pm. BRC Membership QTIS Two Year Old Hcp - 1000m.

No2 DREAM KISSES She was being considered as top chance for the Magic Millions Classic before missing the race with a slight set back. She is a stakes placed filly and should be ready to win first-up here.

No6 BLACK MINK Strong Sunshine Coast winner at first start and then no luck when well beaten at second run at Doomben. Should race well fresh and has a claim here.

No4 SISTA ACT Hasn't run since January when third to star filly Houtzen. No official trial but stable is noted for first-up two-year-old winners.

No14 SIR ROLAND He is an emergency here but he should get a run. His first run was against older horse in an 800m dash at Ipswich. This suits better and nice effort last time. Will be very big odds.

DREAM KISSES Eagle Farm 05:37 - Winner

R6 – 3.15pm. Darley Kingsford Smith Cup Day Class 2 Hcp - 1000m.

No1 SECRET MO (NEXT BEST BET) Has plenty of ability and suited against this field. Won his first two starts and then second in an open three year old at Eagle Farm beating home some class horses. Has shown he can handle this track.

No7 REAL CUTE Has won this track and good third at the Sunshine Coast last start. This is about as far as she wants to go but this isn't hard apart from the top one.

No6 AMERICAN HERO He has been just behind the placegetters at most recent runs. On his best would be an each-way hope here.

No3 TYCOON TYKE Ran home strongly to win two of past three starts at the Sunshine Coast. Nearly got lapped only start this track but there were excuses.

SECRET MO (NEXT BEST BET)Eagle Farm 06:15 - Winner

R7 – 3.50pm. Treasury Brisbane Ladies Oaks Day C,G,E Class 3 - 1200m.

No10 HONOUR 'N’ STRENGTH Has always shown ability and lived up to it with two strong wins before last start unlucky second at Doomben when race run at a snail's pace and the leader had to win. First-up here but is a winner this track and we really liked his trial win at the Gold Coast last month.

No4 GO THE GANTRY Never far away in these type of races and beat a smart horse when last-start Gold Coast winner.

No12 KAPSTAR Has done the right thing by us by winning his past two starts. He is an emergency here but should get a start and looks well placed after the claim here.

No6 ZENDAYE He just about has us beaten because he can be inconsistent. But he has been paced this track in a stronger race so not without some hope on his best form.

R8 – 4.25pm. UBET Stradbroke Day Benchmark 70 Hcp - 1500m.

No12 LIKE A RULER Has been racing well with two wins and then an unlucky fourth when caught in the wrong part of the track last start. Has won his track and the distance should be no worry.

No7 ALL THAT IS Has run some strong races in better company than this and does like this track winning here and also being placed twice. In a wide open race looks hard to beat.

No2 HARADIFY Having second run back from a spell here. Has run two seconds this track and both times should have won both. His second-up form is also strong.

No4 HONEY HOLT She will be big odds here but had no luck when close up sixth in a far stronger Saturday race at Doomben last start. She is getting back to her best form.
