Warwick Farm for our midweek meeting here in Sydney. We have seven races on the card with smallish fields throughout the day. With the sun being out over the weekend and days leading in we should be getting onto good ground. Yes, good ground in Sydney! The rail is true.
QUADDIES (races 4-5-6-7)
Skinny Play: 8,9 – 2,3 – 3 – 3,5,7
Wide Play: 4,5,8,9 – 1,2,3,7 – 1,3,6 – 3,5,7,13
BEST BET: R2 – 4 .PELORUS JACK
Next Best Bet: R6 – 3. GOOD TIME CHARLIE
Best Roughie: R5 – 2. ROMNEY’S CHOICE
No2 BARBEQUE has been good in both trials to date, the way he has worked through the line has shown that the 1300m is a perfect kick off point. He may be a horse who is Brisbane bound?
No13 PATRIOT was solid enough on debut, and looked to be there for more of a hit-out than a full on effort. He should be improved for that and hard to beat here.
No4 BIDWEE was run down late last start over the 1350m, back to 1300m here is not an issue at all, if he is left alone in front he will prove hard to beat.
No15 SAMBRO comes out of two good races to start his career, he gets some gear changes here and it is about now Waller starts to win races with his 2yos.
VALUE RUNNER: No13 PATRIOT
No4 PELORUS JACK (BEST BET) has come back a better horse this time in and that was shown with the way he hit the line first-up, coming from last. Out to 1300m suits and if you look at his three career runs thus far he has been screaming out for a trip and the from around Calanda and Gibralta Girl is better than these.
No9 QUEEN OF HEIGHTS has been trialing up well leading into a fresh run here, the form out of the debut run has been ok.
No8 LOVELETTER comes out of good runs at her first two career runs and with the claim down to 52kgs she has her chance here.
No5 AURORA ROSE gets blinkers off for the first-up run here and has been trialing well enough leading in.
VALUE RUNNER: No9 QUEEN OF HEIGHTS
No3 MULTITUDE looks the one to beat here with the claim and has been running well enough as of late. He handles all going and looks to get all favours in front.
No1 PARAGON has been going well enough as of late, but has to carry the big weight here and that is a touch concerning.
No4 NO RETURN is the old mate who keeps potting around in these races and picks up a cheque. He just doesn’t have that killer instinct.
No5 MAZAZ gets out to 2200m here which suits third up from a spell. His only win has come on synthetic going and from his two runs this time in, not sure what suits?
VALUE RUNNER: No1 PARAGON
No9 ZONK should be improved third up from a spell here, the 1000m-1300m between the first two runs was a step too far and now to 1400m suits. She is a classy filly and should take another step here.
No8 WALK THE STREETS has been trialing well leading into a fresh run, the form out of her first prep is quite good and should hold up.
No5 WHITE MOSS has done a good job winning her last two and can take another step here, wary of writing off a mare in form.
No4 JOLIE’S PEARL did a really good job in her first preparation and has trialed up well enough leading into this fresh run here.
VALUE RUNNER: No5 WHITE MOSS
No2 ROMNEY’S CHOICE (BEST ROUGHIE) resumes here and is an underrated horse who has trialled well leading in. He is an underrated horse, who claims down in the weights here.
No3 MONTIGNAC ran home in fast time last start and finds Bowman here which may suit this mare, she gets blinkers back on to spark her up.
No1 WAHNG WAH resumed like a mare who had found her spark back. She ran right through the line and savaged it. She claims down again.
No7 TENNESSEE HUSSY has been quite good at her last two runs and gets Collett here. The wide gate isn’t an issue as it’s a long run to the turn.
VALUE RUNNER: No2 ROMNEY’S CHOICE
No3 GOOD TIME CHARLIE (NEXT BEST BET) found the line in fast time when resuming in a good race, the form out of the races he ran in last time in was fantastic and has stood up quite well (Tactical Advantage anyone?). He gets Bowman from gate 1 and this looks his race here.
No1 DISSOLUTE won the GTC race first-up and goes up in weights here. He doesn’t look to get as good a run as he did last time.
No6 PALLADIAN gets the tongue tie on here and should improve after what was a horrid run last time. He has good enough form.
No8 NICOF should sit just off them here and try to pounce late. The win at Wagga last start was full of merit.
VALUE RUNNER: No8 NICOF
No5 MONASTERIO was solid enough first-up in a weirdly run race. He gets Bowman here which is a big plus and should strip fitter.
No7 FLEETEOR drops 4.5kgs off the last start win at Tamworth and finds a winnable race here. She has run right through the line at her last two!
No13 WAVE REVIEWS has his first run for Waller here after coming across from the UK. The form looks ok enough and the trial was good.
No3 MISS BALLANTINE has gone back to the trials since the last start run and has trialled quite well coming into this and she should improve.
VALUE RUNNER: No13 WAVE REVIEWS
