Gold Coast (Wednesday) Betting Preview & Tips
Betting tips for every race at Gold Coast. Today’s best bet is in race 6.
Midweek standard racing at the Gold Coast with big fields and very tough races so we should get plenty of value. The rail is out two metres most of the track. There has been plenty of rain about the Gold Coast in the past few weeks but the track should be only on the soft side. These races on soft rating days usually suit the leaders but big fields generate pace so most runners should get a chance in the straight.

R1 – 11.20am. Sky Racing Maiden Hcp - 2200m.
No1 BRIGADIER SAM Placed two of past three starts in shorter races but looking for this distance now and this is very weak. Has a claim for an in-form apprentice here and looks hard to beat.
No5 TIZABEE Stepping up in distance from last start second at Ipswich but has been placed twice this track and this is so weak is a top hope.
No9 MALDITA On her home track here and fair fourth this track and distance last start. Fitter than most.
No4 OPTION TRADER Just fair past couple of starts but bred to stay and from noted stable for stayers. Has some claims.
VALUE RUNNER: No9 MALDITA
R2 – 11.55am. Trackside Tapas Maiden Plate - 1200m.
No9 MOUNT PANORAMA He has run in much better races than this and not been disgraced. Ran second at Newcastle second-up and just has to overcome a tricky barrier here.
No7 ATTILA Didn't handle the track last start at Sunshine Coast but previous form solid and back on home track here which is an advantage.
No3 HEZA DEMON Good third this track at last start back in September. He has trialled nicely for this and drawn to get a good run.
No5 OUR RED DOG Well beaten last start when had no luck but placed second twice at the Sunshine Coast previous runs. Has a chance here.
VALUE RUNNER: No5 OUR RED DOG
R3 – 12.30pm Gallery Restaurant Maiden Plate - 1200m.
No11 VICTORY DANCE Only race start was an eye-catching third at Ipswich. Has a 3kgs claim and a good barrier so hard to beat here.
No2 EXCEED ALL ODDS Two runs last campaign were solid and has trialled twice for comeback here. Good each-way chance.
No6 ARMET Two runs this area have both been good seconds at Ipswich and didn't have a lot of luck last time.
No3 LAKOUDIS Has had his share of chances but should have nearly won his last start at Ipswich after never really getting a clear run in the straight when going well.
VALUE RUNNER: No6 ARMET
R4 – 1.05pm. Langs Building Supplies QTIS Two-Years-Old Handicap - 900m.
No7 SISTA ACT (NEXT BEST BET) Has raced well against top two-year-olds and not been disgraced. Very good second first-up at Eagle Farm and drawn the rails here.
No2 FORTUNE STAR Sydney two-year-old who has won two trials brilliantly in lead up to this. Drawn in the middle of the field which should suit.
No6 CRUSHER Strong winner at only start in Toowoomba and has to be among the chances here from good barrier draw.
No12 SWEETT DAZZLER Drawn poorly but reported to have plenty of ability. Will be big odds but respect.
VALUE RUNNER: No6 CRUSHER
R5 – 1.40pm. ARCHITECTURAL WINDOW SYSTEMS Benchmark 65 Handicap - 900m.
No1 SIR DONALD (BEST BET) Very fast horse who is ideally drawn in barrier 3. Has plenty of weight but a 3kgs claim should make all the difference. Looks very hard to beat.
No10 DELIRIUM Won two 800m races at Ipswich last campaign and resuming here after failing in harder race in January. Goes well fresh.
No8 STARANTE Speedy horse who can mix his form but on his home track and at a suitable distance looks a chance. Very good winner only start this track and distance.
No3 GRACEVILLE Probably best at the Sunshine Coast but good runs at Doomben and Eagle Farm past two starts give her a chance here.
VALUE RUNNER: No8 STARANTE
R6 – 2.15pm. HYNE TIMBER-T2 BLUE FRAMING Class 2 Handicap -1200m.
No7 LEAP OF LEGEND Racing well with wins past two starts in the northern rivers. This is a bit harder but looks to be the top chance here.
No1 CRAZY POPS Very fast horse who led all the way to win at Ipswich. Hard to get past when leads and should do that from barrier one here.
No4 MORE PATASI Came home strongly to beat a horse who has since won at Ipswich last time. Is racing well enough to win this.
No5 EXCEEDINGLY CANNY Former Victorian who scored a strong win at Grafton only start for new stable. This harder but will be getting home hard.
VALUE RUNNER: No5 EXCEEDINGLY CANNY
R7 – 2.50pm. Hume Doors and Timber Class2 Handicap - 1200m.
No1 SALMANAZAR Wasn't far away first-up in a Saturday restricted race. Down in class but up in weight. On best form would beat these and has won in good company second-up.
No6 FALKIRK DRIVE (BEST ROUGHIE) He will be good odds here because there is some depth to this field. But he is a horse on the up with a win in the northern rivers and then an unlucky second at Ipswich.
No7 MISS CHATTERING There has always been a wrap on this mare. She has had a few problems which means she has two wins and a second from just three starts. Always a hope this type of race.
No11 FABVIER Form in New South Wales was nothing flash but now in top Gold Coast stable and we liked her trial at the Gold Coast recently.
VALUE RUNNER: No11 FABVIER
R8 – 3.25pm Mitek Australia Class 1 Handicap - 1800m.
No6 SHARP SPEEDO Has won only one race but always tries hard and never far away. Good second at the Sunshine Coast at 1600m last start indicated he was looking for 1800m.
No10 WICKED QUEEN trained this track and won a 1600m race at Ipswich last start. Chance if can get an easy lead and might do that here.
No4 WAKE UP VICTA He was strong last start at the end of winning an 1800m maiden at the Sunshine Coast which gives him a chance here.
No8 SAVWELL Maiden galloper taking on Class 1 here. But has future stayer written all over him and good second in a strong maiden only start and won a trial since.
VALUE RUNNER: No4 WAKE UP VICTA
R9 – 4.05pm. Langs Building Supplies Class3 Handicap - 1400m.
No5 BOURBON ROAD Has been racing well in stronger midweek races than this and no luck last start last start at Ipswich. It has been a while between wins but ready to score now.
No4 HOTEL COSTE A lot of his form is in Saturday restricted class races and he is down sharply in class here. At his best would win this and looks well placed here.
No12 TRUMP IT Placed past three starts at the Sunshine Coast and Toowoomba. Has a 3kgs claim here which means he gets in well at the weights.
No11 MISHANI PHOENIX Ipswich winner three runs and placed twice since in handy company. This is hardest task for a while but not without hopes at odds.
VALUE RUNNER: No11 MISHANI PHOENIX
R10 – 4.35pm. Langs Building Supplies Class 5 Handicap - 1200m.
No6 BEARSKIN Has been disappointing but first-up here is reported to have worked well and had a solid jump out. Raced solidly in Sydney last campaign which is good enough here.
No1 TAILLEVENT Strong winner in a very strong race at Toowoomba two starts back and then didn't handle the track when well beaten in a Saturday race at Eagle Farm. Big weight, bad barrier but the best horse here.
No5 CHEVAL LE VENT Much better than first-up last at Ipswich when things didn't go right. Has won both his second-up starts and at his best would win this.
No8 MURDER OF CROWS It has been a long time between wins but run of the race when fourth at the Sunshine Coast last start. A repeat of that would see him in the finish.
VALUE RUNNER: No8 MURDER OF CROWS
