Ipswich (Wednesday) Betting Preview & Tips
Betting tips for every race at Ipswich. Today’s best bet is in race 5.
Back to Ipswich for yet another midweek meeting which was originally at Eagle Farm or Doomben. The best we can say is it isn't at Eagle Farm so we should get a reasonable surface. The fields are relatively small but tricky. There are a couple of good quality races where we can bet with some confidence.
QUADDIES (races 5,6,7,8)
Skinny Play: 3/4,5/1,2,6/5,11
Wide Play: 1,3,4,5/4,5,8,10/1,2,6,7/4,5,10,11
BEST BET: R5 – 3. SHINE TAK STAR
Next Best Bet: R1 – 6. DARKTOWN STRUTTER
Best Roughie: R8 – 11. REALLY SURE
R1 – 11.55am. Cup Day June 17 QTIS Two Year Old Maiden Handicap - 800m.
No6 DARKTOWN STRUTTER (NEXT BEST BET) Very well bred and got into trouble at only race start. Has since had a spell and trialled nicely for her come back here. Stable has a good opinion of her and should be good odds.
No2 WONDER BOOM Showed early promise with a placing behind some handy two-year-olds. Recent form was only fair before good last-start fourth behind potential star at The Gold Coast. A good chance here.
No5 LIBERTY LASS First starter from an in-form stable who has on a trial in handy fashion. Obviously has ability.
No9 STAR PICKET Three starts have been solid and did trial well behind a stakes horse at Doomben recently. Has pace and a top jockey.
VALUE RUNNER: No5 LIBERTY LASS
R2 – 12.30pm. Marquee Tix Selling Fast Class 5 Handicap - 1200m.
No6 JACKPOT Former Victorian who was very strong on the line when winner first start this area at the Gold Coast. Down in weight and has a good second-up record.
No2 VIENNA ROYALE Nabbed in the final 50m when second this track last start. Should lead again and be hard to run down.
No1 TAILLEVENT Is the best horse in the race but has a good horse's weight. No luck last time at the Gold Coast and this smaller field suits.
No5 SUNNY VICTORY Never far away these type of races but doesn't win many. Suited in this small field and should get the run of the race.
VALUE RUNNER: No5 SUNNY VICTORY
R3 – 1.05pm. Beach Party On Sale Maiden Plate - 1200m.
No6 DIVINE UNICORN Has won three trials and was fourth in his latest when sent around for an easy time. Reportedly promising and has barrier one here.
No1 CHRONOLOGICAL Had some good form last campaign and while he struggled first-up can improve sharply here. Barrier no help but each-way claims.
No2 MAJESTIC SHADOW Has been placed twice this track over longer trips. But first-up here and has had a good barrier trial which he won. Respect here.
No9 KASCATA Former Sydney galloper who is yet to show any real impact. Expect to see a turn around here though. Keep watch.
VALUE RUNNER: No9 KASCATA
R4 – 1.40pm. Infield DJ Festival Class 3 Handicap - 1540m.
No9 LEGS UNBARRED Has found a new lease of life with two wins and two seconds past four starts. Should bowl along in the lead here from a good barrier and with no weight.
No5 BOURBON ROAD Run down in last little bit when second at the Gold Coast last start. Is getting near another win.
No2 PALACE TYCOON Had solid Victorian form before coming north where has had two starts winning the most recent in Toowoomba.
No1 LIBERTY ISLAND Always about the place but rarely wins. Has paid the price with big weights but has a 3kgs claim here. Not without claims.
VALUE RUNNER: No2 PALACE TYCOON
R5 – 2.15pm. Riverlink Fashions on the Field Three Years Old Handicap - 2200m.
No3 SHINE TAK STAR (BEST BET) He was good enough to run in the Australian Derby in the autumn. Very good winner at the Gold Coast last start when four deep most of the way. He should beat these with any luck.
No4 FLYING FRED Kiwi galloper who was a solid second at the Sunshine Coast last start. Another suited at this trip.
No5 HUNDRED Shock winner at the Sunshine Coast three runs back and two runs since have been handy against stronger company than this. Each-way here.
No2 FONTEIN LAD just missed last start at Caulfield. Could easily go one better here.
R6 – 2.50pm. Buy Now 1866 On The Green Fillies and Mares Class 2 Handicap - 1100m.
No5 FABVIER She was very well backed last start and ran a mighty race to finish second. This isn't very strong and she has some handy interstate form in earlier campaigns.
No8 DESIRABLE MISS Trialled well before winning a maiden this track which was followed by an honest fourth here last start. Go well again with an apprentice's claim here.
No10 HIRTSHALS Nothing went right last start when last in a similar race. Has trialled nicely since and showed promise in Sunshine Coast win last month.
No1 SAYS ME place 2 from 4 when fresh. Narrowly missed first up-last prep when powered home. Value.
VALUE RUNNER: No8 DESIRABLE MISS
R7 – 3.25pm. XXXX Summer Tix On Sale Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 2 Handicap - 1100m.
No2 TAMROOKUM Had some good Gold Coast form before failing in the Magic Millions Class 6 in January. Resumed with a good third at the Gold Coast and chance here in easier race.
No1 CONSTANTINE Former Sydney galloper who won two races this area before a spell. No official trial this time in but loves this track.
No6 MADIBA Plugged away last start at first run in six months. Will be a lot fitter here and has some good form in earlier campaigns for a race like this.
No3 ADERITO forget last start. Slow away and never really settles. Prior to that was third in a Class 2. Value chance.
VALUE RUNNER: No3 ADERITO
R8 – 4.05pm. Queenslander UBET Ratings Band 0-75 Handicap - 1710m.
No4 VAULTING AMBITION He hasn't lived up to his early promise due to injury. But honest in these type of races and should be suited at 1700m.
No11 REALLY SURE (BEST ROUGHIE) has been running home hard in his races of late with a good second this track in a much stronger race last time. Has won only three from 20 starts but suited at the weights here.
No10 NEARCTIC CHILLER Kept on fighting when second at the Sunshine Coast last time and stepping up to a more suitable distance here.
No5 HARADIFY Loves this distance and usually races well this track. Much better placed here than last start failure this track.
VALUE RUNNER: No11 REALLY SUR
