Sale (Thursday) Betting Preview & Tips
Betting tips for every race at Sale. Today’s best bet is in race 9.
Should get fair racing here at the return to Sale and with the track predicted to be a Good 4.
The rail is back to the True Position after being pushed out to three metres mid-May at the last meeting here.
The day will be overcast with a low maximum on 15C. There is no rain forecast but the track is rated a Soft 5 because of the wet autumn. It may improve a shade with dry weather.
There are two hurdle races over 3200m on the nine-race card.

R6 – 3.00pm. Wilson Medic One Rising Stars BM64 Handicap – 1200m.
No3 STRIDE OUT sound first-up effort and if gets cover from 15 he is a chance.
No9 CERTIFIED TWENTY is a nicely bred four-year-old who is racing in good fashion and respect here.
No12 ZIPPED UP defied a betting drift to $21 when scoring a brilliant first-up win. May repeat.
No1 TYCOON FELIX just missed last start at Moe. Not the best winning strike rate at distance but with the 1.5kg claim, he should be competitive.
VALUE RUNNER: No12 ZIPPED UP
R7 – 3.30pm. Max Blakiston F&M Handicap – 1100m.
No10 MOSAQUA is a lightly-raced four-year-old mare with upside. She had no luck when finishing last of nine over 1300m at Sandown on February 22. With Jack Martin’s 1.5kg claim she drops to 57kg and has an unblemished record first-up. Appeals in a tough race.
No4 DECOCO she won at her debut at Bendigo in April. Last start she ran fourth over 1000m at Ballarat on May 14. However she did pull up with a respiratory issue so would draw a line through the run. She hails from a top yard and has a top jockey in Luke Nolen to ride.
No12 SIMPLE SOLUTION she won here four starts ago. Latest she ran fifth over 1400m against her own sex back in January. She has a perfect score at this track of one start for one win and drawn gate two she can get a soft run.
No5 PATIENT dropping back to the 1100m here suits. Was only 3.7L off the winner last start. Will be right in this.
VALUE RUNNER: No12 SIMPLE SOLUTION
R8 – 4.00pm. Helen Cantwell/Thelma Coster Gippsland Middle Distance Series Heat 2 – 1400m.
No5 ROCK OF MAHAL pay to keep a close watch on this gelding having his first start for new trainers Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young. Bjorn Baker previously trained him in Sydney. He has a great first-up record of a win and a third at three starts and has the blinkers removed.
No8 GOLDEN FUSAICHI she has been on a winning spree and chasing a hat-trick here. She rises 1.5kg to 58.5kg here on her last start win at Mornington on May 1. Jessica Payne keeps the ride, but the barrier in 15 is a setback.
No13 REDDOUR broke her maiden here last start by 2 lengths. Very lightly raced Mare who could easily upset here if she brings the same effort as her last start.
No14 MY GYPSY JANE wasn't that bad last start when 3.1L off the winner at Sandown. She's coming off a 176 day spell. If she's fit, she'll be competitive.
VALUE RUNNER: No 14 MY GYPSY JANE
R9 – 4.30pm. Anthony Lee/David Wilson Gippsland Middle Distance Series Heat 3 – 1600m.
No13 WINDBERN (BEST BET) is a three-year-old filly with a heap of upside. She was scratched at the barriers last start in town. She ran a close third to Jaws Of Steel over 1600m at Sandown on May 10. She has top apprentice Beau Mertens to ride from gate 13, which is a slight negative. She has only raced five times and plenty of scope.
No9 NANGAWOOKA has been as consistent as clockwork and rates highly despite the gate (15).
No2 FORTHEFUNOFIT has been most consistent and from an inside draw (4) rates with claims.
No1 WALLOON REGION been a different horse in the last 6 months but could bounce back here. Respect.
VALUE RUNNER: No9 NANGAWOOKA
