This is yet another meeting which should have been at a Brisbane track but was moved because of problems with Eagle Farm's racing surface. The Gold Coast has had a heavy work load in recent years and sections of the track also need work. But on days when it is a good surface it usually plays fairly meaning we can bet with some confidence.

QUADDIES (races 5,6,7,8)

Skinny Play: 1,4/2,6/6,10/6,11

Wide Play: 1,4,6,7/1,2,6,8/4,6,10,11/2,6,7,11

BEST BET: R4 – 1. MR EPIC

Next Best Bet: R1 – 1. KUTTAMURRA AL

Best Roughie: R3 – 11. IRISH VICE

R1 – 12.00pm. Clipsal and Scheinder Partner Business Maiden Plate - 2200m.

R1 – 12.00pm. Clipsal and Scheinder Partner Business Maiden Plate - 2200m.

No1 KUTTAMURRA AL (NEXT BEST BET) We never thought we would tip him a special in anything as he should be in the Bookies Hall of Fame. Rarely has a horse promised so much and delivered so little. However, he meets a weak field here and his three runs from a spell have been solid enough. He races like a true stayer now with no quick turn of foot. He has actually run some good races in stakes company.

No3 DATUK ZADRAGON Bred to win a Melbourne Cup and plugged away when second at Ipswich last start. Might like this distance.

No5 ROMAN SENATOR Has had plenty of chances but has been placed a couple of times and will handle the 2200m.

No7 TIZABEE He has been placed his last four starts in races such as this. That about sums him up but always an each-way hope.

VALUE RUNNER: No3 DATUK ZADRAGON

R2 – 12.35pm. Interisk QTIS Three Year Old Maiden Plate - 1800m.

R2 – 12.35pm. Interisk QTIS Three Year Old Maiden Plate - 1800m.

No9 SORNJA Suited here this distance and at the Plate weight scale. Hasn't been far away in much stronger races and gets a chance.

No8 SAFE HARBOUR Two race starts have been solid and getting out to the right distance now. Has been placed this track and should get the run of the race from good barrier.

No4 ANGELA'S BEAUTY Much better run when second over 1400m this track last start and suited at this distance in a weak race.

No11 WINDMILL FOLLIES Forget last start failure when had no luck and go on previous good run when third at Ipswich.

VALUE RUNNER: No4 ANGELA'S BEAUTY

No9 SORNJA Gold Coast 03:35 - Winner

R3 – 1.10pm. Gerard Lighting Maiden - 1400m.

R3 – 1.10pm. Gerard Lighting Maiden - 1400m.

No3 RIPPIN 'N' TEARIN Has had three thirds and two fourths in five runs this campaign and hasn't had a lot of luck in any of them. Gets his chance to win here.

No11 IRISH VICE (BEST ROUGHIE) She was well beaten at Eagle Farm last start but did not handle the track at all. Previous form was solid and will be big odds because of the poor barrier. But has pace to overcome it.

No10 TURQUOISE Was racing well when had no luck at all last-start failure this track. She is much better than that.

No1 VOUCH FOR ME A very good run when second at Ipswich was followed by poor effort when struck trouble. Has trialled since and has a hope.

VALUE RUNNER: No11 IRISH VICE

R4 -1.45pm. Hayman's Open Hcp - 1400m.

R4 -1.45pm. Hayman's Open Hcp - 1400m.

No1 MR EPIC (BEST BET) He is the class runner of the field and first-up here. Has never won first-up but placed several times. He has had two strong trials this time so should be ready to win here in what is a massive drop on class in horses he raced last campaign.

No4 RED DYNAMITE Honest enough galloper who finished off well when third first-up at the Sunshine Coast. Strong each-way hopes on his home track where he has a very good record.

No6 BROTHERLY SECRET Good second first-up this track and has the top local jockey from a good barrier.

No3 CHARGE MISSILE Been around for a long time but rarely runs a bad race. Might get an easy lead here.

VALUE RUNNER: No6 BROTHERLY SECRET

No1 MR EPIC Gold Coast 04:45 - Winner

R5 – 2.20pm. NHP Class 5 Hcp - 1100m.

R5 – 2.20pm. NHP Class 5 Hcp - 1100m.

No4 SIR DONALD Strong winner this track at first run back from a spell. He is a promising galloper and should overcome the wide barrier.

No1 POWERFUL SAGA Has a lot of speed and good winner this track last start. The 1100m is about as far as he wants to go but will be in this for a long way.

No6 STAROCITY Has raced well in Saturday class and back from a spell here with a handy trial under his belt. Placed five times first-up but yet to win fresh.

No7 LIVE FAST Has been placed past four starts in short course races and very good second at Eagle Farm to a smart horse last time.

VALUE RUNNER: No7 LIVE FAST

No4 SIR DONALD Gold Coast 05:20 - Winner

R6 – 2.55pm. L&H Auslec Class 3 Handicap - 1200m.

R6 – 2.55pm. L&H Auslec Class 3 Handicap - 1200m.

No1 CRIQUETTE Smart filly back from injury who has won her past two starts. Getting up in the weights but has a 3kgs claim here and should nearly win this.

No2 MORE PATASI He has produced two powerful finishing bursts to win his past two starts including the latest this track.

No8 NILETTE Honest mare who has been placed three of past five starts. Would need a bit of luck to win this but has each-way hopes.

No6 REVALDOR Has raced well in Saturday races on occasions but probably best on wet ground. But no luck last start and will be fitter.

VALUE RUNNER: No6 REVALDOR

R7 – 3.35pm. Energy Super Class 4 Handicap - 1400m.

R7 – 3.35pm. Energy Super Class 4 Handicap - 1400m.

No4 LOTHARIO Has been most consistent this campaign without winning. He is at the right distance of 1400m and this doesn't look very strong.

No10 BENFICA PRINCESS She was tried as a stayer and wanted to pull too hard in her races. Much better suited here with the pace on and she can run home hard.

No6 HARADIFY He was very well backed last start but was well beaten. Back to this track and distance should suit better.

No11 KYLIE'S FAME Well beaten this track last start when struck trouble and better guide was previous handy win at Doomben.

VALUE RUNNER: No10 BENFICA PRINCESS

R8 – 4.10pm. NECA Electrical Apprenticeship Hcp - 1200m.

R8 – 4.10pm. NECA Electrical Apprenticeship Hcp - 1200m.

No2 MARSCAY FORCE Good second in a strong race at Casino in the northern rivers last start. Has had two trials and two runs back from a spell so should be ready to win now.

No6 ANGEL DANCER She is a smart mare on her day and good effort first up at Toowoomba. She has won two from three second-up and chance here.

No7 SHAMFRANCISCO Two runs back from a spell have been ordinary but were in far superior company to this. Back in this grade should give a good sight.

No11 DRUMBEAT’S CHOICE Never far away but doesn't win many. Down in the weights here and should get the run of the race.

VALUE RUNNER: No11 DRUMBEATS CHOICE
