Sandown (Wednesday) Betting Preview & Tips
Betting tips for every race. Today’s best bet is in race 5.
Racing returns to Sandown and the false rail will be extended to six metres.
That could favor the horses who like to race on the pace so keep a close watch on the early patterns of racing.
The track will be perfect rated as a Good 4 and the day should be fine.
R1 – 1.00pm. Elaren Security 2yr Handicap – 1400m.
No4 MULK will rise 1.5kg to 57.5kg on his last-start second in a 1400m maiden at Pakenham on May 18. The colt gets Damien Oliver replacing Andrew Mallyon and has a steady campaign behind him to say he can score his breakthrough win here.
No7 WINDSOR was easy in the betting before finishing a good third over 1100m against her own sex in an 1100m maiden at Seymour on May 23. She steps up 300m in distance here but will strip fitter on her first-up start.
No8 UNDER THE SEA showed she may be looking for further with a solid fourth over 1300m against her own sex in a 1300m maiden at Cranbourne on May 26. She had Craig Williams riding last time and gets Ben Thompson here, but his claim drops her weight to 53kg.

R2 – 1.30pm. Chef’s Hat Maiden – 1200m.
No13 VANITOSO is bound to strip fitter on his first-up second over 1100m at Bendigo on May 21. He has not fared well at the draw in gate 17 but he does have a good rider in Andrew Mallyon to partner. Makes appeal here.
No1 AEROVICTORY lived up to his trial form at his debut with a sound third over 1100m in a maiden at Bendigo on May 21. The form line out of the maiden is okay with another winner popping up from the race. Keep in mind here.
No8 SPEEDY ILLUSION was no match for the winner but did not surrender and kept on going when finishing second over 1100m in a maiden at Geelong on May 12. The blinkers come off here and from barrier two he should gain a soft run.
R3 – 2.00pm. Resimax F&M Handicap – 1600m.
No7 CHAMPAGNE READY has been consistent at her two Victorian starts since winning at Kembla Grange in NSW. Latest she ran third against her own sex over 1600m at Ballarat on May 24. She gets Craig Williams rides again.
No2 MAMZELLE TESS is a four-year-old who has been in splendid form. She is searching for a fourth straight win after cracking three straight over 1411m on May 17. She jumps from 56.5kg to 62kg which is going to be a steadier.
No5 CONCUBINE made a valiant return to score an easy win over 1300m as a $2.80 favourite at Geelong on May 16. That was her third career win and from gate two gets a pie run here.

R4 – 2.30pm. Clanbrooke Racing Handicap– 2100m.
No4 KELLSTORM is an Irish-bred galloper who won at Warrnambool before finishing seventh over 1600m at Flemington on May 20. He gets the Group 1 winning jockey John Allen to ride for Darren Weir and makes good appeal.
No2 GRANDDUKEOFTUSCANY is an Irish-bred galloper from the Melbourne Cup winning stable of Robert Hickmott. He gets top apprentice Beau Mertens to ride and his claim will drop his weight to 56.5kg.Good fifth over 1800m at Flemington on May 20.
No11 HIGH LAGO was a fair effort when running third over 2025m at Cranbourne on May 19. That was his first start over a journey and will strip fitter.

R5 – 3.00pm. Heritage Finance F&M Handicap – 1200m.
No5 BLITHE BELLE is bound to strip fitter on her first-up second. She gets a soft run from two.
No2 MISS BENEDETTA her form has been first class on good and soft going of late. Respect.
No3 WHITE HOUSE LADY Sound effort first up and she has a good record at her second start.

R6 – 3.30pm. Up For The Challenge Handicap – 1300m.
No9 SOHOOL is from the record-breaking stable of Darren Weir and gets Group 1 winning jockey John Allen to ride. She has been consistent at her two starts on country tracks this campaign and expect her to be fully wound.
No8 PAKAYA PRINCE won at Warrnambool two starts ago. Latest he ran a solid fifth over 1400m at Ballarat on May 24. Jamie Mott rides again and he is better drawn in six. Has each-way claims.
No18 DRY BISCUIT (BEST ROUGHIE) struck a quagmire when finishing fourth over 1600m at Cranbourne on April 24. If he gets a start here he will be returning off a 40-day break and on his best form does rate.

No7 JAMINZAH has a perfect second-up record and great first-up run.
No11 ST FRANCO scored a fighting win at Swan Hill. He does go up in class but is capable.
No15 TOORAK BELLE is racing in top fashion and chases a hat-trick here after two wins at Sale.

No8 EXACTING ran a solid fourth over 1400m at Pakenham last start on May 25. He gets top jockey Damien Oliver to steer here and can break a string of minor placings here from gate three.
No10 LADY PROVOCATEUR was second-up when finishing fifth over 1600m against her own sex on a bog track at Warrnambool on May 4. With Chelsea Hall’s 3kg claim she will carry a mere 52kg. Each-way.
No6 BUT IT’S TRUE fought hard all the way to the wire when finishing third over 1411m first up at Sale on May 17. Patrick Maloney rides again and could gain support after was backed into $3.90 last time.
