Canberra (Acton) is the main ACT / NSW meeting to be run this Friday, it is to be run on the Acton surface which is the Synthetic that they have in Canberra and after the first meeting there a few weeks ago it should play fairly. The rail is true and well, the track is syntho.

QUADDIES (races 5-6-7-8)

Skinny Play: 1,7 – 2,3 – 1,3 – 1,4

Wide Play: 1,3,7 – 2,3,5,7 – 1,3,4,9 – 1,3,4,9

BEST BET: R4 – 9. I AM KALANI

Next Best Bet: R1 – 2. ALFDEN

Best Roughie: R2 – 2. NOTRE REVE

R1 – 12.00pm. MERCEDES-BENZ CANBERRA BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP - 1900m.

No2 ALFDEN (NEXT BEST BET) stormed over the top of them last start and won well against the bias two weeks ago at this track and distance, he had been coming out of some harder races than that and was entitled to do that. He gets a good claim here and is hard to beat.

No5 ESSENCE PREVAIL was disappointing last week at Wagga when fav. He comes to a weaker race here and is trained on the track.

No6 ILLYRIAN was good in the race behind Alfden last start and again has a chance here.

No3 BILL 'N' EVE

VALUE RUNNER: No1 LITTLE RED DEVIL

R2 –12.35pm. CASINO CANBERRA CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 1080m.

No6 STAR ASPIRATION is proven that he can handle the track and just trotted in last start. He looks drawn to get a perfect run yet again here and is hard to beat.

No1 BALLETUSA has been a touch disappointing in both runs for Dale so far, maybe back to her home track can help.

No2 NOTRE REVE (BEST ROUGHIE) wasn’t given much of a chance in all starts last time in, he joins a new stable here and has the ability.

No3 OUR FINVARRA was too far back last start and wasn’t able to build momentum into the race there. The form around her is good enough.

VALUE RUNNER: No2 NOTRE REVE

R3 – 1.10pm. XXXX GOLD BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP - 1280m.

No5 ATLANTIC SENTINEL has been going well enough in solid enough races as of late and has the experience on the track to have a chance.

No3 IMPERIOUS should find this much easier than the last start at Wagga, if he runs along he has his chance.

No2 NOT A HINT comes out of a good race at Wagga last start where he was well fancied. This looks easier than that.

No1 OVERDANE has the most ability of any horse here but does have the big weight, if he’s right he can win this.

VALUE RUNNER: No2 NOT A HINT

R4 – 1.50pm. JOHN McGRATH AUTO GROUP MAIDEN HANDICAP – 1080m.

No9 I AM KALANI (BEST BET) did a brilliant job in her first 2yo trial in preparation for a debut run when trialing against older horses two weeks ago. She did it pretty easily and looked to have a lot if improvement in her. More importantly she handled the track.

No1 PRINCE JACKO has s good SP profile but seems to have the winning post and he will be short again here.

No3 SILVER CLOUD THREE was good enough last start and handled the track well and has a chance again.

No6 PELOPONNESE started short last start and looked as if she would improve for the run, if she handles the going she is a chance.

VALUE RUNNER: No6 PELOPONNESE

R5 – 2.25pm. AFFINITY CONSTRUCTIONS AUSTRALIA MAIDEN HANDICAP - 1280m.

No7 LET IT ROLL should improve out to the 1280m here, he was beaten by Jungilized last start who looks to be a handy enough horse and that gives him his chance.

No3 JINDABERRA has been very consistent so far without winning, the run last start at Wagga rated well times wise and he can go one better.

No9 THE BOULEVARD resumes here without a trial from a betting stable which has me intrigued. The form is more than good enough.

VALUE RUNNER: No3 JINDABERRA

R6 –3.05pm. JOHN McGRATH KIA MAIDEN PLATE - 1750m.

No3 LIMELIGHT steps up quickly in distance here but it looks as if it will suit here, being trained by Dale I don’t think fitness is going to be an issue.

No2 GO ONE MORE found the line well enough last start over the track and distance and looked to handle the going well.

No5 MIDNIGHT JUMPER will go around big odds, but looks the likely leader here and if left alone in front could surprise.

No7 DIZZY DAYS was good enough last start and now steps up in distance and that looks as if it would suit well.

VALUE RUNNER: No5 MIDNIGHT JUMPER

R7 – 3.40pm. TABCORP BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP – 1080m.

No3 LORD DENMAN got the job done last start against the bias in what was a strong win, he should be further improved for that and looks hard to beat.

No1 TO A DEGREE drops 2kgs on the last start run and was quite good there, he is very talented on his day and could run them into the ground.

No4 UNYIELDING resumes with no trial and has speed to burn, if she can get across from the gate she has her chance.

No9 KANERUPT was good enough last start and should roll forward here, he ran horrid on the ground last time he ran on it which is a worry.

VALUE RUNNER: No4 UNYIELDING

R8 – 4.15pm. CANPRINT COMMUNICATIONS BENCHMARK 53 HANDICAP - 1206m.

No1 TOUGHERTHANTHEREST comes out of a hot race last start behind Il Bandito and he would be $1.10 here. Back to his home track suits and he has his chance.

No4 MANICC was just horrid last start and if you can forgive the effort and go off the Cessnock win she has her chance.

No9 CANNY PALANCE found the line well in a better race last start the drop back in grade here suits and has to be respected.

No3 CHUCKLES should appreciate the drop back in distance and although he has a wide gate to deal with he is trained on the track and has a chance.

VALUE RUNNER: No3 CHUCKLES
