GWS should comprehensively beat a Carlton side and look a great bet for punters.

How does Santa Claus deliver all those presents in one night?  How is GWS as much as $1.22 against GWS and only giving up five goals at the line?

We cannot answer those questions but what we can do is steer you into the Giants comprehensively beating a Carlton side who could still easily claim the unwanted wooden spoon in 2017.

Last week GWS managed a workmanlike win over Essendson; it was the Giants fourth straight win and they have now won nine of their past 10 matches.

Heading into Round 12 GWS was a game clear on top of the table and the alarming thing for rival clubs is that they have had a horror run with injury in 2017, with key players only now starting to come back into the side.

When these teams played last the Giants won by 62 points and expect to see something similar here.

Carlton is heading in the right direction as a club but have now lost three straight games after winning two in a row.

It is hard to fault the endeavor of the Blues, however, they simply won’t have the midfield depth to be able to compete with the Giants.

In the Blues most recent match, a 17-point loss to North Melbourne, their midfielders found plenty of the ball with Bryce Gibbs collecting a game high 38 possessions, Patrick Cripps 32 and Marc Murphy 30. If they are going to be competitive then these three must again produce big numbers.

Looking longer term we could not be any more bullish about GWS for the premiership, so back them with confidence now which will give you a terrific trading opportunity on Grand Final day by laying off on their opponent.

Brownlow Medal candidate Josh Kelly kicked two goals when these teams played last - we like him here for the most disposals.
