It will be curtains this season for the loser of Friday night footy.

North Melbourne has won six straight games against St Kilda and this game is season defining for both clubs on the back of a disappointing first half to the season.

Kangaroo supporters were delighted to play finals footy last season and St Kilda were expected to be in the post season this year, however, they enter Round 13 with North sitting in 15th spot and St Kilda not doing much better in 12th.

Both teams come into this game off the back of disappointing losses; North Melbourne led Richmond at half-time before the Tigers prevailed by 35 points and things were just as ugly for St Kilda who were belted by 57 points against Adelaide.

The Saints have simply struggled to score with a dysfunctional forward line and since they defeated Carlton have only managed to register totals of 68, 50 and 54.

With Nick Riewoldt back in the team this week look for him to push forward and he is worth looking at to be the top goal scorer.

Saints veteran Leigh Montagna has copped plenty of criticism during the week after the Saints big loss to Adelaide. Montagna had 20 disposals but his attack on the ball was questioned and he looks a good bet to get the most touches from Group B this week.

As for North Melbourne their midfield has performed below expectation recently.

Ben Cunnington has had a poor fortnight and needs to find more of the footy if the Kangaroos are to cause the upset. After a great start to the season he has had just 17 and 20 touches in the past two weeks.

It is hard to bet on this game with a lot of confidence but North Melbourne has been more consistent this season and we are surprised that they are a betting underdog. Have something on them at the Line (+2.5) which is paying $1.82 with Unibet.

Looking longer term both these teams are long odds to make the finals with St Kilda $5 (@ bet365) and North Melbourne $7.50 (@ bet365).

Ben Cunnington has had just 17 and 20 disposals the past fortnight and his over/under is set at 26.5.
