No9 JOYANO showed plenty of pace in a jump-out at Flemington. She resumes from a 203-day break here but gets the in-form apprentice Jake Bayliss to ride and her first-up form is okay. She is a product of the successful Team Hayes stable.
No7 SHOPLIFTER won a trial over 1000m at Tatura on March 28. Did a good job that day and the son of Time Thief has drawn perfectly at his debut in barrier one to be prominent.
No5 LORD WENTWORTH will wear a tongue-tie at his debut. He is a graduate from the Perth yearling sale where he fetched $30,000. The son of Wanted was well held at a recent jump out at Mornington and gets Alan Creighton to ride.
No12 WALDENBURG is resuming from a 399-day spell. Gets top jockey Dean Yendall to ride first-up and she showed enough at her two starts at her debut campaign to warrant here. Has drawn well in six.
VALUE RUNNER: No12 WALDENBURG
R3 – 2.00pm. The Wellington at Botanical Gardens 2YO Handicap – 1100m.
No9 PLATO (NEXT BEST BET) has big expectations being a $1.5 million yearling graduate from the Magic Millions Gold Coast sale. Hails from the leading juvenile yard of Mick Price and has the in-form jockey Noel Callow to ride the son of Pierro. He has drawn perfectly in barrier five and will sport blinkers at his debut. Pierro was the top Australian two-year-old of his year being unbeaten.
No15 MOOINOOI is a $60,000 Premier Inglis yearling sale’s graduate and looks ready on a Flemington jump out.
No2 ALL GIFTS is a Godolphin youngster who was under no pressure at a Flemington jump out recently.
No7 OLYMPIC LAD was a $47.500 weanling and is from the top juvenile yard of Team Hayes.
VALUE RUNNER: No7 OLYMPIC LAD
R4 – 2.30pm. Beach Party October 21 BM64 Handicap – 1600m.
No2 OUR MALLEE HOFF fought hard when finishing a close second over 1600m at Swan Hill on June 9. That was his first time over the metric mile and gets popular jockey Harry Coffey to ride from gate six. Makes appeal in a tough race.
No7 THE BIG OH was at double figure odds when finishing second over 1300m at Swan Hill on June 11. The 2kg claim of apprentice Brooke Sweeney drops his weight to a comfortable 54.5kg and looms with claims.
No4 ERAMOSA broke his maiden status with a smart win over 1590m at Wangaratta on June 6. He gets top apprentice Ben Allen to steer from gate nine and can handle the rise in class here. Respect.
No6 RACING WRITER was stepped up to 2400m when finishing 10th at Bendigo on June 3. He has the miles in his legs to be strong here back to 1600m and if ridden quietly can loom as a chance.
VALUE RUNNER: No6 RACING WRITER
R5 – 3.00pm. Bet 365 F&M Handicap – 1300m.
No4 SMOKIN’ BELLA had to show plenty of guile to win first-up over 1200m at Ballarat on May 24. She gets top jockey Luke Nolen to ride and is from the leading stables of Ciaron Maher. Expect her to be improved here.
No1 GIDDYUP may have had excuses second-up when finishing ninth over 1300m at Geelong on June 2. She gets the 2kg claim of apprentice Georgine Cartwright to reduce her big weight to 59kg and is worth watching.
No6 ANNRHON gets the blinkers on for the first time and is worth another chance after her 10th over 1200m at Pakenham on June 8. She did win at Geelong over 1121m last preparation and from barrier two gets a soft run.
No3 GIGI GIRL returns from a 52-day break here. She ran a solid fifth over 1500m at Geelong on April 30 and her previous form was rock solid. Has the in-form Noel Callow to ride and from barrier one gets a cosy run.
VALUE RUNNER: No3 GIGI GIRL
R6 – 3.30pm. Mypunter.com 3yo Handicap – 1400m.
No1 BEALE STREET is searching for a hat-trick here. Latest scored a comfortable win over 1400m at Sale on June 1 at the odds of $11. Matthew Allen keeps the ride but must carry 61kg, but if can get a soft run early will charge home.
No7 DEADLY CHOICES has won and been placed twice at three starts. Posted a comfortable ¾ length win in a maiden over 1200m at Sandown on June 7. He does rise in class, but has a perfect draw in gate two and can repeat.
No10 WILLI WILLI was never on the track and had no luck when finishing eighth over 1400m at Sandown on June 7. He gets top jockey Craig Williams to ride here and can bounce back.
No4 ATLANTIC FOX won over 1312m at Geelong two starts back. Latest ran a solid third at long odds over 1400m at Sandown on June 7. Has top provincial jockey Daniel Stackhouse to partner and is capable here.
VALUE RUNNER: No4 ATLANTIC FOX
R7 – 4.00pm. Silks Functions Handicap – 1400m.
No8 GALAXY RAIDER (BEST BET) had good support when backed into $5 favouritism but was not suited over the short course of 1200m when finishing seventh at Sandown on May 27. The stable of Greg Eurell is firing and he gets premier jockey Craig Williams to steer from 14. He ran home late last time and a repeat over the extra 200m should see him victorious here.
No9 VEGA DE LAGO is fully fit now having his third start from a spell and is an each-way shot.
No10 KEVIN’S TIME (BEST ROUGHIE) ran a big race second up to finish second over 1300m at Sandown
No15 ST SWITHUNS is a most consistent mare and the stable is in-form.
VALUE RUNNER: No10 KEVIN’S TIME
R8 – 4.30pm. Business Luncehon Raceday BM64 Handicap – 1100m.
No10 BLITHE BELLE pay to forget her 11th over 1200m against her own sex at Sandown on June 7. She never fires second-up and her first-up second was full of merit. Chris Symons replaces Damian Lane and from gate four gets a soft run.
No14 SCUZI gave her new stable a perfect start with a brilliant win over 1100m at Ballarat on April 24. With Jye McNeil as the new rider she will be well ridden and is sure to be warmly fancied here.
No8 LEVITICAL ran a great second over 1200m at Pakenham on June 8 when backed in from $18 into $9. Patrick Maloney keeps the ride and this is only his fourth start back from a spell. He is well worth keeping in mind.
No5 CURVATURE had to circle the field before finishing a good fourth over 1200m at Moonee Valley last start on September 30. Gets top jockey Daniel Moor to ride for the Freedman brothers and his first-up record is sound.
VALUE RUNNER: No5 CURVATURE
