Racing returns to Wagaratta for this Thursday and fortunately punters will get a dryer surface to bet on after a spate of wet tracks.
The false rail will be shifted out to the four metre position from the 900m to the 400m and will be at the True position for the remainder.
With fine weather forecast the tip is the track will be perfect for racing at a Good 4.

No3 TRES (NEXT BEST BET) found trouble first-up when finishing sixth over 1200m in a 3yo fillies handicap at Mornington on June 12. Will take plenty of improvement from the outing and with apprentice Lachlan King riding she will carry 57.5kg. From barrier five she should get a cosy run and can hit the line strong again here.
No4 YISA posted a narrow win over 1200m in a maiden at Swan Hill on June 11. Can improve further.
No1 SOGNANI will take benefit from her first-up start and rates with claims. Blinkers are off.
No2 SUMMER GLEN will sport blinkers for the first time and this is easier than last start
VALUE RUNNER: No2 SUMMER GLEN
No7 WHIRLPOOL was working home strongly to finish third over 1400m against her own sex at Sandown on June 14. She strikes moderate opposition here and gets a change of rider with Linda Meech replacing Stephen Baster. Makes appeal.
No6 BACKSTREET LOVER the visors come off and the blinkers go back on again. Has been hard to catch but she gets her chance hereon her last start seventh over 1600m at Sandown on June 7. She will go forward.
No8 BARADINE BOY posted a smart win over 1590m at Wodonga on June 17. With apprentice Lachlan King’s 2kg claim will carry only 54kg and has a perfect draw in gate four. Does back up here but should gain a soft run.
No1 FULGUR (BEST ROUGHIE) lost ground but continued to make steady progress when running fourth over 1400m on a bog track at Warrnambool on May 3. Has top jockey Luke Nolen to ride and is from an in-form stable.
VALUE RUNNER: No1 FULGUR
No5 MISS BENEDETTA (BEST BET) won at Warrnambool three starts ago. Latest she ran a sound fifth over 1200m at Sandown on June 7. That was against her own sex and she strikes similar company here. She gets top jockey John Allen to ride and can continue trainer Darren Weir’s record-breaking season.
No2 STRATUM MAGIC bounced back from a spell with a fighting win and can be a threat again here.
No3 WORLD OF HOPE draw a line through her last start and go on prior form.
No1 SASAYURI is fit now and with Lachlan King’s 2kg claim carries 60.5kg. She is a chance.
VALUE RUNNER: No3 WORLD OF HOPE
No10 INDELIBLE LASS is a three-year-old filly who has upside. She closed her initial campaign on a high with a smart win over 1400m in a maiden at Warrnambool on January 8. That was only her second start and she gets top rider Luke Nolen to steer.
No7 PALMA MERENTI will wear a tongue-tie for the first time. Pay to forgive her last start 10th over 1200m at Swan Hill on a soft track on June 9. Her previous form was first class with a win and a second in the provincials. Dryer track can assist here.
No8 ACCREDITATION hails from the all-powerful Darren Weir stable. She warmed up for this with a clever win over 1100m in a trial on June 13. Top stable jockey John Allen rides here first-up and would keep her most safe.
No11 LORD LAURIE was outmuscled late when finishing fourth over 1300m at Swan Hill on June 11. He has drawn well in gate three to be prominent and his previous form was consistent on the outer provincial tracks.
VALUE RUNNER: No11 LORD LAURIE
