Doomben (Saturday) Betting Preview & Tips
Betting tips for every race at Doomben. Today’s best bet is in race 5.
Has had a lot of rain in recent times but it is a good drying track so the surface should be good on Saturday. This is yet another Group One meeting transferred from Eagle Farm. There is a lot of depth to most races and there is plenty of value. The track should suit leaders early and then settle down to give back markers their chance.

Best Roughie: R2 – 3. MISHANI WRANGLER
R1 – 1.07pm. STAV, ABBY AND MATT WITH OSHER'S Class 6 Plate - 1350m.
SCRATCHED No5 PRIVLAKA Has had a freshen since finishing mid field in a better race last month. Previous form was very good and handles wet and dry tracks.
No3 RED DYNAMITE Two runs back from a spell have produced minor placings with the latest a strong second at the Gold Coast. He is up to this class.
No4 TRUBIA Recent form has been only fair and hasn't raced for six weeks. But he did win a trial in strong fashion and on his best form is a class galloper.
No13 CARELESS Sydney form is sound for a race like this. He doesn't win many but usually about the place and has a top jockey and good barrier draw.
VALUE RUNNER: No13 CARELESS
R2 – 1.42pm. WINNING EDGE STAKES - 1350m.
No6 MARSEILLE EN FLEUR Honest filly who has won twice in city class and this much easier than last start when mid field in the BRC Sires. Has strong claims this distance.
No3 MISHANI WRANGLER (BEST ROUGHIE) He has won his past two starts at the provincial and country tracks. He was impressive in both wins and looks well placed at this distance. He should be good each-way odds.
No2 CURDLED Sydney two-year-old who is a maiden but placed four of five starts. That type of form is usually good enough to win in Brisbane.
No1 GUISSOLA Strong winner at past two starts at the provincial tracks. Has good wet track form but can handle all conditions. This distance suits.
VALUE RUNNER: No3 MISHANI WRANGLER
R3 – 2.20pm. FURNACES @ AQUIS FARM CRYSTAL SLIPPER 2YO Fillies Plate - 1200m.
SCRATCHED No1 CELLARGIRL Promising filly who was far too strong in a similar race this track first-up from a spell. She is well placed at the Plate weight scale and looks hard to beat.
No5 RED HOT MISS Good winner at first race start and then fourth behind a super star filly at her only other run back in March. Has had a jump out to be ready for this.
No6 SISTA ACT Speedy filly who is drawn well to make the most of her early pace. Never far from the place money.
No2 DREAM KISSES Hasn't lived up to her early promise but not far away in similar races to this in recent starts. Will need luck from the barrier draw but will be running home hard.
VALUE RUNNER: No5 RED HOT MISS
R4 – 2.57pm. SINGAPORE AIRLINES 3YO Plate - 1350m.
No12 WITH A PROMISE Won an open Listed race against older mares before no luck when failed next start but then all the way winner last week at Ipswich. Suited under the Plate scale here.
No6 EAT MY TRUST He has won his past three starts in easier company. But this isn't the strongest city race of all time and he does show a lot of promise.
No4 DOUBLE SUPERLATIVE Has always shown ability and should have nearly won when first-up fourth this track last start. He should be in the finish here.
No2 I'M A RIPPA Forget last-start failure this track when had no luck and go on previous three starts when minor placed in a strong company.
VALUE RUNNER: No6 EAT MY TRUST
R5 – 3.37pm. CARLTON MID TATTERSALL'S CUP - 2200m.
SCRATCHED No2 TUCANCHOO (BEST BET) Sydney stayer who has been placed his past two starts in handy company. Handles wet and dry tracks and has a good record this distance. Gets 3.5kgs off the top weight who looks the main danger.
No1 RUDY He is paying the price by being so consistent but form this winter strong with minor placings in the O'Shea Stakes and Doomben Cup. Not suited by a slow pace when fifth in the Brisbane Cup and this is a lot weaker.
No3 PEMBERLEY Hasn't been disgraced this winter and good third in the Brisbane Cup this track and distance last start gives him a strong hope.
No6 MY DIAMANTINE Not very big but sticks on in her races. Never a hope last start in the Brisbane Cup but this is easier and she worked very well this week.
VALUE RUNNER: No3 PEMBERLEY
R6 – 4.17pm. G.H. MUMM OPEN QUALITY - 1615m.
No3 MAN OF HIS WORD Looked a certainty beaten when fourth this track and distance last start. Couldn't get a run in the straight until the race was nearly over. Looks hard to beat here.
No1 RELIGIFY The track conditions will tell the tale with him as he needs a good surface. Has a big weight and bad barrier but will go forward and that is an advantage from this start.
No8 PINDAN PEARL Former Victorian mare who hasn't been far away in black type races at her past two starts. Looks nicely placed here on her best form.
No2 HOPFGARTEN Tried hard in the Group One Stradbroke last start but back in his right grade here and does like this distance. Each-way claims are strong.
VALUE RUNNER: No2 HOPFGARTEN
R7 – 4.57pm. SKY RACING TATTERSALL'S TIARA - 1350m.
No3 IN HER TIME Fantastic run when second in the Group One Stradbroke Handicap this track and distance after being wide all the way. Back against same sex and suited under this weight scale. Looks very hard to beat.
No10 BONNY O'REILLY Won five races in a row before had little luck when third this track and distance last start. Probably should have nearly beaten the winner.
No11 BIDII BABE Very good winner this track two runs back and then wide all the way when failed last start. Forget last start. Worked very well this week.
No14 PROMPT RESPONSE Very strong at the finish when won this track and distance last start against many of her opposition here. An obvious danger.
VALUE RUNNER: No10 BONNY O'REILLY
R8 – 5.32pm. UBET W.J. HEALY STAKES - 1200m.
No2 DEPLOY (NEXT BEST BET) Has been a model of consistency since blinkers were added to his race day gear winning six and being second twice. Strong win in the Group Two Moreton Cup this track and distance last start. Hard to beat again.
No1 DOTHRAKI No luck last with the barrier draw here and will need luck. But he is so honest in these type of races he can never be left out of the chances.
No8 STEEL ZIP Veteran galloper who has been kept fresh for this race. Has a good first-up record and down in the weights. Will be hard to beat if the early pace is strong.
No4 FLIPPANT Another honest performer who is first-up here but has had two trials winning the latest in impressive fashion. She has won first-up twice.
VALUE RUNNER: No 4 FLIPPANT
