Newcastle for the Tuesday provincial meeting in NSW, We have 8 races on the card and we will be racing on a soft track, the big open spaces gives every horse a chance. The rail is true.
QUADDIES (races 5-6-7-8)
Skinny Play: 6,11 - 3,6 - 1,2 - 5,8
Wide Play: 1,2,6,11 - 3,4,6 - 1,2,4,6 - 3,4,5,8
BEST BET: R1 – 10. EVANESCE
Next Best Bet: R4 – 1. IT'S SO OBVIOUS
Best Roughie: R6 – 6. ULTRAMAN
No10 EVANESCE (BEST BET) is the only one in this field with a good deal of upside, she is coming out of good solid form races at her most recent outings and now stepping up to 2100m and the big roomy track here look ideal and Avdulla should get us off to a flyer.
No2 GRAND TETON was good at the first NSW start when winning what looks to be an ok race at Hawkesbury and has a chance here.
No5 THE WORLD OVER gets to 2100m now and a drier track which is going to help, K Lees at home ticks another box.
No6 MUSE is going well enough and back up in trip suits here.
VALUE RUNNER: No5 THE WORLD OVER
No7 SCHUBERT has been gelded coming into its second preparation and ran in good races in the autumn.
No5 NATHULA is the Godolphin horse that Avdulla has elected to ride here and has been trialing well before the debut run.
No2 BOSTON LIGHT just doesn’t want to win it seems, that early promise is slowly slipping away.
No4 TINKER DAN has been good in all three runs and will run the honest race we have seen him run in all three starts.
VALUE RUNNER: No4 TINKER DAN
No4 HYPNOTIST won in good fashion on debut and ran a very slick time. From gate 7 McEvoy will sit just behind them and have the last shot at them here.
No1 TIP TOP won well last start and should be able to go on with it here, the step to 1250m suits.
No2 WEEKEND AFFAIR got over the top of them late at Hawkesbury. From gate 1 KOH will be just behind them and will just need some luck in running here.
No3 MARROCK should roll along in front here and drops in class here after solid efforts recently.
VALUE RUNNER: No2 WEEKEND AFFAIR
No1 IT’S SO OBVIOUS (NEXT BEST BET) very good in its first two starts in races that should hold up form wise. The trial coming in was very good and from gate 2 Parr should be able to lead and dictate here. If she is left alone in front she will win.
No6 ZEDGE has been solid enough in the trials leading into a debut run and should run well.
No3 RICKATORIO come out of two good races in his first preparation and has trialled well coming in.
No2 LATITUDE has left Team Hawkes and is now with Godbolt, form is solid enough maybe an environment change could spark him.
VALUE RUNNER: No3 RICKATORIO
No6 SIEGE OF QUEBEC has been trialing in brilliant fashion leading into a debut run. If he runs up to the trials, he wins.
No11 PLAY gets blinkers for the debut run and has improved from trial to trial, with that upward spiral we may see a nice debut here.
No2 ALMIGHTY has been going about his business quite well at the trials, barrier 10 is a touch sticky however.
No1 SEDITION draws a bad gate here in 16. The trial coming in was good, forget the Vic run and go off the debut run.
VALUE RUNNER: No2 ALMIGHTY
No3 BODHI BLUE brings the best form to this race and has been going well as of late, this is weaker than recent runs.
No6 ULTRAMAN (BEST ROUGHIE) should improve from the debut run and getting out in distance suits.
No4 TITANESS has been good in all three runs, this is a weak race and she again is a chance.
No1 BLUESBRO has a host of gear changes and King should roll forward from the gate and give them something to chase.
VALUE RUNNER: No6 ULTRAMAN
No1 PIPING HOT looks to have good ability and resumes here after a long break, the two trials coming in have been good enough.
No2 ALASSIO won in arrogant fashion on debut and although he is up in grade, it's stepping up to the 1250m that is the worry for me.
No4 FILOMENA’S GRACE broke through in good fashion last start and should improve again up to 1250m.
No6 AUNT LIBERTY ran quite well first up and just blew out late fitness wise, second up she should be better.
VALUE RUNNER: No4 FILOMENA’S GRACE
No8 BANUELO was good when she stepped up in grade last start and comes back a level here. Senior jockey on a plus.
No5 MY MAHER has done a great job winning all starts thus far. It took her all of the straight last start to win and the step to 1150m suits.
No3 VANILOQUIO hit the line well last start in a race that was dominated by the leader. The step up to 1150m suits.
No4 AKASAKI was ok enough last start, I don’t think he handled the soft going there, a drier deck here suits.
VALUE RUNNER: No4 AKASAKI
