Gold Coast (Wednesday) Betting Preview & Tips

Betting tips for every race at Gold Coast. Today’s best bet is in race 8.

Tue, 4 Jul, 4:44 AM

The Gold Coast like most other tracks in south east Queensland has had an extra work load because Eagle Farm has been closed. The track has got plenty of wear and tear but is holding up well enough. The track will be in the soft to good range and all runners should get their chance in the straight where the rail will be in the true position.

Next Best Bet: R4 – 1. MAGIC DIAMOND

Best Roughie: R2 – 1. HAROLD VICTOR

R1 – 12.00pm. SKY RACING QTIS Three-Years-Old Fillies Maiden Plate - 1100m.

No5 MISHANI SEEKA At only start was a good second in a Toowoomba maiden and while this is an even race she is well placed here.

No6 MULTICHOICE She has had a few chances but was unlucky last start when third this track against older mares. Always an each-way hope here.

No7 NEVER SO SIRIUS Raced fairly last campaign when didn't have much luck in her races and was immature. Won a trial in June and ready to race well now.

No4 MILLJET A first starter who has not had an official trial this campaign but showed potential last year in trials. Keep very safe here.

MISHANI SEEKA Gold Coast 03:00 - Winner

R2 - 12.35pm. SKY RACING Colts, Geldings and Entires Maiden Handicap - 1400m.

No10 KIRIN'S LAD We have gone a bit wide for our top tip but he has been placed twice at 1400m and should have finished closer when fourth over 1200m this track last start. Well in with an apprentice's claim here.

No1 HAROLD VICTOR (BEST ROUGHIE) Looked all at sea on a wet track at the Sunshine Coast last start but still battled on for fourth. Looks like 1400m will suit and should be a lot fitter.

No3 DREAM MASTER Was at short odds when pulled out of the race early after striking trouble last start at Murwillumbah. He has since won a Doomben trial and will be hard to beat here.

No7 DARING DEEDS Form is only fair but looks better placed here at 1400m and on a drier track than when fifth last start at the Sunshine Coast.

KIRIN'S LAD Gold Coast 03:35 - Winner

R3 - 1.10pm. SKY RACING Fillies and Mares Maiden Handicap - 1400m.

No7 SECRET BOND Good third when close up at the Sunshine Coast over 1200m last time. Has an apprentice's claim, good barrier and the right distance here.

No3 ON A HIGH Keeps running good races with no luck. Last start pushed deep when second this track. The 1400m suits nicely.

No2 MISS SEVERENA Two runs have been at the Sunshine Coast for a second and a fourth. Back on home track here and another who looks well placed at 1400m.

No6 KASCATA Did her early racing in New South Wales and found it easier when second at the Sunshine Coast. Has a 3kgs claim here which means she gets in well at the weights.

SECRET BOND Gold Coast 04:10 - Winner

R4 - 1.45pm. SKY RACING Class 2 Handicap - 900m.

No1 MAGIC DIAMOND (NEXT BEST BET) Resuming here but showed ability last time in work. Has started favourite in city Saturday races on occasions. Has a solid first-up record and this is weak.

No7 REAL CUTE Knows only one speed and that is flat out meaning she struggles at anything longer than 1000m, But nicely placed at 900m here and has the inside barrier which is an advantage.

No5 CALLIGRAPHER Raced in good company in Sydney and then won a Gosford maiden before coming north. Had a little set back after only start this area but ready to fire now.

No4 MADIBA Has been about the place in this class for a while but has had a freshen up and a trial since last start in May.

MAGIC DIAMOND Gold Coast 04:45 - Winner

R5 - 2.20pm. SKY RACING Class 5 Handicap - 1400m.

No5 DUSTMAN Had a lengthy time off but returned with an honest win this track in a tight finish. Promising type who has a good second-up record and looks the one to beat.

No3 BUDGET BENDER Won two trials before coming back with a sixth at the Gold Coast and then a solid second in the Beaudesert Cup. Should be at peak now.

No2 ROLLING ROMAN He has been racing well without winning in these type of races of late. Usually hits the line hard and has a very good record this track and distance.

No7 BIANTIC Has struggled at times this track and distance but last-start fourth here indicates he can be in the finish again.

R6 - 2.55pm. SKY RACING Benchmark 70 Handicap - 1800m.

No4 BINARY He has had plenty of chances but racing well enough to win this. Battled away well when third at 1666m at Ipswich last time. He has a good record this track and distance.

No1 COLOUR OF MONEY New South Wales Form was solid and made up a lot of ground first start this area when fourth at Ipswich over 1666m. This distance looks ideal.

No10 UNASSUMING Has been racing honestly in races around this distance range. Has a good record this distance including a win this track.

No9 WIMPOLE STREET Tough old gelding who has been placed past five starts all around the 1800m to 2000m race. No star but honest and fit.

BINARYGold Coast 05:55 - Winner

R7 - 3.35pm. SKY RACING Class 1 Handicap - 1400m.

No3 SAVWELL Looks a promising galloper who was too good for a maiden field this track on heavy going last start. Should be even better on this surface and looks hard to beat here.

No7 MOBILE Strong effort to win a Sunshine Coast maiden last start on a heavy track. The 1400m around the Gold Coast looks ideal.

No1 HANOVER SQUARE Only start this area he was well beaten at the Sunshine Coast. He has some good New South Wales form for a race like this so deserves another chance.

No6 RIVER FIRE Has never lived up to early wraps but has been consistent. Has had two trials and two runs back from a spell and should be ready to race well.

SAVWELLGold Coast 06:35 - Winner

R8 - 4.10pm. SKY RACING Class 3 Plate - 1300m.

No12 PLUCKY GIRL (BEST BET) Honest filly who never runs a bad race. Three runs from a spell have all been unlucky efforts including last start second this track where she was the winner everywhere but the post. Has a good barrier, the top jockey and suited at the weights.

No2 BEARSKIN Had his chance when third in a good standard race at Rockhampton last time. Considered good enough to race in Sydney last campaign. Capable of winning this.

No1 ARCHYTAS Three runs back from a spell have been mixed but best form is on dry ground and should get close to that here. Better than last-start Sunshine Coast eighth when struck trouble.

No7 SNITZEL KNIGHT Had some good Sydney form before debuting this area with an excellent fifth in a Saturday race at Ipswich. This is far easier and just needs to overcome the tricky barrier.

PLUCKY GIRL Gold Coast 07:10 - Winner
