Dalby (Tuesday) Betting Preview & Tips
Betting tips for every race at Dalby. Today’s best bet is in race 3.
Dalby is one of the fairer Darling Downs tracks and has a straight where every horse gets its chance. Of late horses have been getting away from the fence but with a good rating all runners should be able to get clear in time. Of course that depends on the weather bureau actually being right. For example Brisbane was allegedly having fine weather for a week leading to Doomben and it rained for two days!

Next Best Bet: R4 – 2. SCRAP COPPER
Best Roughie: R7 – 8. WINE BARREL
R1 - 1.53pm. Dingo Australia Maiden - 800m.
No5 LIBERTY JANE Placed four of past five starts in Toowoomba and was fourth at the other run. It is very good form for a race like this and has drawn a nice barrier. Looks hard to beat.
No4 RETURN TO ROYALITY He has been placed three of eight starts and has shown some ability in most of his runs. Good second at Warra last start and has raced well in Toowoomba on occasions. The barrier is the main worry.
No7 TWO PLUS TWO At only start was a solid second in Toowoomba when had little luck. Another drawn well and should be in the finish.
No12 GOOD GRACIOUS MAE Has had many chances to win a maiden but never far from the place money and is yet another with a good barrier and a light weight. Gets her chance to finally win a race.
VALUE RUNNER: No12 GOOD GRACIOUS MAE
R2 - 2.27pm. Dalby Florist Maiden - 1200m.
No7 LIPS ‘N HIPS Has been placed in some handy maidens and no luck last start at the Gold Coast. This is far easier and very well placed here after apprentice's claim at the weights. Has a lot in her favour.
No4 CHOICE SON Much better run last start when third in an Ipswich race behind what could be a superstar. Only needs to improve a length to win this on that run.
No1 MISTER CALYPSO Has been racing well in Toowoomba and not a bad effort in a race at country Warra last start. Has had no luck with the barrier draw here.
No5 NAUGHTY CORNER Has been only fair in harder maidens of late but we did like one of his trials earlier this year when we marked him a horse to follow. This is his easiest race for a while.
VALUE RUNNER: No5 NAUGHTY CORNER
R3 – 3.05pm. Six Wheels Conversion Three Year Old QTIS Maiden - 1400m.
No4 SIP SIP SIP (BEST BET) Trialled very well back in May and then no luck at first start before again no luck when third at Ipswich last start. Has the rails here and the 1400m looks ideal. Much better drawn than a couple of his main rivals here.
No8 MUMFORD Has been placed in good maidens including one at the Gold Coast last campaign. He got home very well for fourth at Ipswich last start and the 1400m suits here.
No1 WESTBROOK WARRIOR Almost a professional placegetter with minor placings at past five starts at Toowoomba and Ipswich. We would have made him top tip and special but for the bad barrier which can be tricky from this start. Still an each-way hope.
No5 THE LAST ROAD Good second at Beaudesert last start which was his first in a race after two trials. This is much harder but rates an each-way hope.
VALUE RUNNER: No8 MUMFORD
R4 - 3.42pm. Criterion Hotel Road To Roma Heat - 1788m.
No2 SCRAP COPPER (NEXT BEST BET) Once regarded as a speedy squib when she raced in Brisbane she has found form with two wins and a second past three starts. Strong win at 1600m at Ballina last time indicates this trip will be no problem and she appears to have toughened up with country life.
No4 GET ON Old mare who was inconsistent early in her career but two wins and a third from past three starts gives her a strong chance here. One of the few this field to have won at the distance.
No1 BARCELONA BOUND Country galloper who won at Roma on the dirt last start. Has an in form jockey and a good barrier here.
No5 RHIATENN ROAD Can mix his form but racing far more truly these days. Good second at Toowoomba last start when probably should have won.
VALUE RUNNER: No4 GET ON
R5 - 4.20pm. Ashton's Butchery Benchmark 58 Hcp - 1000m.
No2 EXTRA SHOT Showed plenty of promise in Brisbane but had something of a reputation as a professional placegetter with ten seconds in his early career. Has been sold to another stable and won at Goondiwindi before failing on the dirt at Roma last start. Better this track and on best form would win.
No5 THE ROBBER Has been minor placed past five starts on country tracks. This is not really much harder so must have claims here again.
No4 MUSIC SCENE Showed plenty of pace to win at Warra last start. It was her best run for some time and might go on with it now.
No9 MELLORE Usually about the place in country short course races and should be a lot fitter for two runs from a spell.
VALUE RUNNER: No5 THE ROBBER
R6 - 4.57pm. O'Shea's Windsor Hotel Dalby Class 2 Hcp - 1200m.
No2 PRICELESS DE HERO Freshened up since last-start failure last month. Best form is over longer but has an in-form jockey here and this type of race suits him.
No1 MICKEY DAZZLER Has won both his starts this track and placed at the Gold Cost first-up before no luck latest unplaced run in Toowoomba. Has a claim and good barrier so hard to beat here.
No6 SEQUASHI Doesn't win too many but he showed plenty of heart to win at Esk last start. He will be big odds but has some claims.
No10 SHARP BIJOU Battler who was placed on the dirt at Gympie last start. But his previous effort at Gatton behind a handy horse was good enough for him to be an each-way hope here.
VALUE RUNNER: No1 MICKEY DAZZLER
R7 - 4.35pm. Dingo Fencing Systems Benchmark 65 - 1400m.
No2 THIN DISGUISE Has been racing in central Queensland of late but has won a couple in Toowoomba earlier in his career. Placed past two starts and this looks an ideal distance for him.
No5 ROXY RHYTHM Was placed three times at Toowoomba and Gatton before having no luck when beaten at Toowoomba last start. Always a chance these type of races.
No3 VENECIA Has had a few problems in her career but a strong win at Warwick last start gives her a good hope here.
No8 WINE BARREL (BEST ROUGHIE) To say he had been disappointing after showing a lot of early promise is an understatement. But he is down in the weights here and has been placed in better races his past two starts. Bookies will take him on again but he might finally win another race here.
VALUE RUNNER: No8 WINE BARREL
