Doomben (Wednesday) Betting Preview & Tips

Betting tips for every race at Doomben. Today’s best bet is in race 7.

Tue, 11 Jul, 6:09 AM

Doomben hosts yet another meeting but it is holding up very well and the track is playing truly. On Saturday some winners came from last while others led all the way. The only bias is speed related and with the rail out 8.5 metres that should suit front runners who dictate the pace. The track should be on the soft side but not too wet.

QUADDIES (races 5-6-7-8)

Skinny Play: 2,5,7/2,3/1/3,8

Wide Play: 2,7,5,9/2,3,4,8/1,4,5,8/2,3,6,7,8

Next Best Bet: R3 – 2. OUR RED DOG

Best Roughie: R2 – 9. LILLE EVANGELENE

R1 - 12.08pm. #ALLFOR1AND1FORALL Fillies and Mares Class 4 Handicap - 1200m.

No3 QUEENOFTHEPIXIES Resuming here from a break but tough and most consistent last time in work. Goes okay fresh and has better form than most here. Usually goes best after a run first-up but no trial this time and should be fresh.

No4 SOFT TOP has been racing well and showed plenty of heart to win last time. This is harder but not much harder.

No1 MAGNUS COR She has accepted in two races but will probably start here. Good form before a break with a win and two thirds. Needs a fast early pace and should get that here.

No5 ROUND MOUNTAIN GEM Handy second last start and while she can mix her form, gets conditions to suit here.

R2 - 12.43pm. #STOPBULLYINGTOENDYOUTHSUICIDE Fillies and Mares Maiden Plate - 1110m.

No9 LILLIE EVANGELENE (BEST ROUGHIE) Has been placed in handy maiden company and at first start for a new stable was never on the track when fifth at the Gold Coast. This is very weak and has strong claims.

No8 JEN FROM MYERS Showed a lot of pace first-up for a second at Ipswich. This is no harder.

SCRATCHED No1 BIA TYCHE Has been placed past three starts and this is no harder. Getting up in the weights but suited here despite tricky barrier draw.

No10 MINK STAR Didn't have much luck in first campaign where showed some ability. Won a recent Doomben trial in style.

R3 - 1.18pm. #GRANTAWISH Colts, Geldings and Entires Maiden Plate - 1110m.

No2 OUR RED DOG (NEXT BEST BET) Placed past two starts in similar company to this with the latest strong third at the Gold Coast. Has a 3kgs claim here and a good barrier. Very hard to beat.

No3 ALL PLUCK He is starting to wear very thin but is rarely far from the money. He was caught on the line at the Sunshine Coast last time and he will win one of these maidens one day.

No6 RED MAHOGANY There was a big wrap on him after he won two trials impressively. But at only start didn't seem to handle the Toowoomba track and struck trouble when well beaten. Give another chance here.

No7 SKY ONE He has had four trials to get ready for his debut here. Has been handy in each of his trials without being a star but well drawn and should be around the money.

R4 - 1.57pm SHAPE CONSULTING QTIS Three-Years-Old Colts and Geldings Maiden Plate - 1050m.

No8 MR DUMONT There are many first starters in this race who have trialled well and he is one of them. Won a Doomben trial and then a handy second in another. Good chance form rails draw.

No7 MISHANI FERNANDO Has had two trials to get ready for first start here. Won the latest by seven-lengths so obviously has some ability.

No2 GOOD GRAB Caught the eye when he won a Doomben trial in preparation for his first start here. Has a top jockey and a good barrier. Respect on debut.

No12 ZOFF ‘N’ OFF Of those that have raced he has the best form with minor placings at his past two starts at the Sunshine Coast.

R5 - 2.34pm. TRAVERS BEYNON RACING Benchmark 70 Handicap - 1050m.

SCRATCHED No7 CHOIX DE ROSES She has been most impressive winning her past three starts in Toowoomba. This isn't much harder and rates very highly here.

No5 NEPTUNE PALACE Honest type who has been second at his past two starts with the latest at the Gold Coast when unlucky. Each-way again here.

No2 BRIGADOON LEGEND Resuming here since last run in December. No trial but has been placed five of eight first-up runs and this isn't hard.

No9 JEST EXCEL Not proving as good as many thought she might but still handy in recent times. She wasn't suited by the track conditions last start and better guide was previous start win at the Gold Coast.

R6 - 3.12pm. ASTROJUMP INFLATABLES Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 4 Handicap - 1200m.

No4 PATRONIZING He was racing only fairly before strong win this track and distance last start. He should get conditions to suit him again.

SCRATCHED No3 BEAT STREET Winner two of past three starts including first-up win this track last time. Best form is usually when first-up but was impressive last start.

No8 RED MAGIC Placed past two starts at the Gold Coast and had little luck either time. Drawn to win and handles wet and dry tracks.

No2 ARENA SALON Having first start for a new stable but handy behind a top horse in a recent Sunshine Coast trial. Probably wants a bit further but hope here on the trial effort.

R7 - 3.47pm. ICANIWILL AUSTRALIA Class 2 Handicap - 1640m.

No1 PRINCE OF TIE (BEST BET) Racing very well with wins at the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast before running into a very promising horse when second this track and distance last time. Has an apprentice's claim here and drawn to get the run of the race on the pace.

No5 IRON CRAFT Liked the way he finished off his race when fourth second-up at the Gold Coast. Won't want to give away another big start but this type of race suits.

No8 VENETIAN BEAUTY Has had plenty of chances and will be big odds here. But nice effort when fourth at the Gold Coast last start and not the worst here.

No4 INGEEGOODBE Hasn't won for a while but keeps running handy races without much luck. Just behind the placegetters past couple and ready to win one of these type of races.

R8 - 4.27pm. #MAKINGCHARITYCOOL Class 2 Handicap - 1350m.

No3 DOUBLE SUPERLATIVE Has been scratched couple of times lately but does have plenty of ability. Should have won a far harder race second-up and then just even next start when midfield in another tougher race. Gets his chance against this field.

SCRATCHED No8 SMART DEVIL Hasn't really fired in three starts since a Gold Coast win. Can be very hard to catch but on his day has plenty of ability.

No6 FIVE STUD POKER Didn't seem to handle the long straight when well beaten at Rockhampton last run. Previous form was solid for a race like this one.

SCRATCHED No7 LIMESTONE COWBOY Consistent with a win and then three thirds from four starts in Queensland. Another who is suited in this class.
