Another big double figure winner from our black booked runners. Was bottled up for a large part of the straight but when the Gun got clear the well backed $1.90 Spending To Win was toppled. Keep following.
Absolutely hammered late in betting into odds on after hitting a high of $2.60 during betting. Just held out Last Witness ($19) by 0.1L. Believe this race will provide some strong form. Keep Following.
Ran another very honest race at good odds. Was a decent way of the third-place getter Kilarney Kid ($9.50) but only hit his top gear late. Follow out slightly in distance, or similar with a hot tempo.
Absolutely hammered in betting $3.20-$2.50. Failed to fire a shot after being put into the race perfectly by Beau Mertens. Second up syndrome? Give one more.
With an extremely strong head wind at headquarters during last weekend’s meeting the pattern was certainly against those up on speed running against it. Lovani accordingly drifted alarmingly from $4.80-$8, but proved punters wrong and recorded a strong all the way victory.
She’s certainly a filly in form as reflected in her initial quote so don’t expect any special odds next time but she’ll go very close in whatever she contests, especially if the tracks is lending itself to those up on the speed.
She did only win by 0.5L but on top of the strong wind, Jockey Luke Currie suggested that she raced extremely keenly throughout, wanting to pull during the early to middle stages. This suggests she can derive further benefit from the run and prove even more difficult to run down.

Drifting significantly in betting after opening an early favourite at $3.20. Defied the drift somewhat to be beaten only 0.2L by well-backed stablemate Assimilate ($3.90).
Some have been critical of jockey Black Shinn taking hold during the middle stages and releasing the son of Snitzel too late. However, given the hot tempo, I would suggest otherwise. He looked very big in the yard (but quite well) so given the fitness he’ll derive from this fast run race he should be figuring in the finish again soon.

It was a case of the dreaded plate shifting prior to the start for the backers of this chestnut son of Nicconi. Openning at a juicy quote of $4.20 he was hammered prior to the jump to be an almost equal favourite with Kings of Leon at $2.60.
He did look to map perfectly for the race and get the lead on his ear. However, after the $21 chance Taillevent went way too hard with the bilkers on he became bottled up badly in the straight as this galloper fell back sharply through the field. Adamant he is going very well at present and should be winning a race he can lead.
