Doomben (Saturday) Betting Preview & Tips
Betting tips for every race at Doomben. Today’s best bet is in race 6
We better get used to betting at Doomben because with Eagle Farm shut for at least eight months most meetings will again be here. This is the first of three meetings in a week and the track is starting to show signs of wear and tear, but it continues to race fairly, with early speed the major factor in any bias. The track will be good with no rain in weeks.

Best Roughie: R8 – 14. FELINO BEL
R1- 12.32pm. Help Enterprises Open Hcp - 2040m
No1 MR EPIC (NEXT BEST BET) He got back to his best form with a strong win this track and distance last start. Gets some weight relief with an apprentice's allowance and does look better than this field.
No3 MONTEUX He is still eligible for a restricted race but has won a middle distance race in the south and good third last start this class. Looks the main danger.
No4 BUDGET BENDER Has had a lot of problems in his career but has won his past two at the provincials. Looks the likely leader here and has to be in with some chance of causing an upset.
No2 ANTON EN AVANT Has won 10 races and is a genuine stayer. Ran on well enough last start to indicate he will be fitter and ready to test these if there is a strong early pace.
VALUE RUNNER: No4 BUDGET BENDER
R2- 1.07pm. Elite Portable Class 3 Plate - 2040m
No5 INGEEGOODBE Strong effort to win this track last start when got a rails run. Stepping up in distance but looks one of the best hope here.
No1 BINARY He has just about sent us bonkers as we continually tip him only for him to run a good race and finish in the minor placings. This is the type of race he can win (we hope).
No10 PINOLINO Has been good this campaign and was a last-start second this track at 1600m when had no luck. Has a 3kgs claim here so nice weight.
No11 QUEEN GORGO Victorian visitor who has some handy provincial type form there. This isn't strong and at least we know she will stay.
VALUE RUNNER: No10 PINOLINO
R3-1.42pm. Caltex Bellbowrie Fillies and Mares Ratings 0-70 Hcp - 1050m
No3 NAVUA MIST Newcastle visitor who has won her past two starts at Scone. Stable has a great record in Brisbane and is one of the few chances well drawn. Hard to beat here.
No5 ONE IN ONE OUT Veteran mare who usually races well fresh. Has a 3kgs claim here and two runs in July were a win and a placing behind a horse who ran close to a course record at the Sunshine Coast.
No11 BONSHO Forget her past two starts when she was hampered by bad barriers. Has drawn the inside barrier here and has a stack of early pace.
No15 JEST EXCEL Speedy and has a good barrier, a light weight and the right distance here. Always an each-way threat.
VALUE RUNNER: No15 JEST EXCEL
R4-2.17pm. Chris Munce Racing Benchmark 90 - 1050m
No5 HANWRITTEN (BEST BET) Smart horse who has won two races at Randwick during his career. Has won this track and goes very well first up. Had an easy recent trial and should be fit enough to test this field from barrier (3).
No7 TAILLEVENT Much travelled lately but likes this track and distance and is well drawn. Wet track would be a help but a chance in conditions.
SCRATCHED No10 TARZAN Hasn't run since winning on a heavy track at the Sunshine Coast in March. Won a recent trial and while up in class hard to beat here.
No1 STELLA OMBRA In career best form and beat a far harder field last start. Up in the weights and not certain to back up here.
VALUE RUNNER: No7 TAILLEVENT
R5-2.52pm. McIntyre Riding For the Disabled Benchmark 75 Hcp - 1640m
No11 MEET AND GREET Beat a good standard three-year-old field at last start and now takes on restricted company, but he is promising and should be too good for this field.
No10 KUBIS Consistent galloper who has won this track and good second here last time when probably should have nearly won. Bad barrier here but still rates a hope.
No4 SAGAMAMA They don't come much more honest and has a win and a second at the Sunshine Coast from his past two starts. Has a good draw and a nice weight here, so rates highly.
No1 HOLLYWOOD BOUND Another runner for the Chris Waller stable having his first Brisbane run since he was trained here four years ago. Form in Sydney ordinary but in far harder races than this. Respect.
VALUE RUNNER: No4 SAGAMAMA
R6-3.27pm. Pillow Talk Class 6 Plate - 1350m
No12 OINK Has raced against top company as a two and three-year-old. Has been hampered by big weights of late so is well placed here under the Plate scale. Very hard to beat.
No3 ONE INCH PUNCH Has always shown a lot of potential and while he has never won first up he has been placed several times. Has had a trial here for first start in 10 months.
No2 LORDAG Has generally been disappointing after once being rated stakes horse class. But two recent runs have been good in much better company than this. Hard to beat here.
No6 DRUMBEAT’S CHOICE Has been all over the state of late but just failed to win a feature race in Townsville last start. On his day can be very hard to beat so respect again.
VALUE RUNNER: No2 LORDAG
R7-4.07pm. Eureka Cambooya Stud Colts, Geldings, Entires No Metro Win Hcp - 1200m
No11 RHYME NOR RHYTHM Promising horse but hasn't been hitting the line as you would expect of late. Well drawn and has a top jockey. Usually races well fresh and has had a break. Just needs some luck late in the race to win.
No12 JACKPOT He can be very hard to catch but had a good Gold Coast win two starts back. Forget last start failure when attacked in the lead.
No2 SAIPAN Has a good record around the provincial and country tracks and was unlucky when fourth this track last start. Should be on the pace for a long way.
No8 ALWAYS SACRED On his day is handy but struggled last campaign. Has won a recent trial so ready for a better campaign this time.
VALUE RUNNER: No2 SAIPAN
R8-4.47pm. VCV Brisbane QTIS Three Year Old Hcp - 1200m
No10 I AM IMPINGE Trialled very well and as expected was too strong for a Coffs maiden at first start. He has been entered for some Group races this spring so respect here.
No14 FELINO BEL (BEST ROUGHIE) Made up steady ground when mid-field in a 1000m race here first up. Much better placed at 1200m and has the inside barrier. Had solid form before a spell.
No8 TOO EASY BRO Strong win at the Gold Coast was followed by a brave second to a promising horse this track last start. The third horse has since won. Each way again.
No7 ROCK ‘N’ SUMMER Showed ability at only start when easy winner this track. This is tough but has plenty of up side.
VALUE RUNNER: No14 FELINO BEL
R9-5.27pm. Gollan Racing Fillies and Mares No Metro Wins Hcp - 1200m
No13 JADEDFOX Showed plenty of heart to win last start this track and this isn't much harder. Drawn well and should get the run of the race.
No4 MAGNUS COR Recent efforts have been only fair but fitter for two runs back from a spell and has three kilos claim here. One of many hopes in this race.
No2 DESTINED FOR WAR Has a strong record in country areas and winner past four starts in easier company than this. Has ability and not the worst by a long way.
No8 CAPETOWN HUSSEY Has never really lived up to the big early wraps on her but was very good before a spell when won twice and was second in strong company. Has had two trials for comeback here.
VALUE RUNNER: No2 DESTINED FOR WAR
