The Power must bounce back to keep their top four chances alive.
The strangeness of the AFL season can be summed up by looking at Port Adelaide. They are yet to win a single game all season against a side in the top eight but find themselves sitting in fourth place on the table and in the hunt for a vital double chance.
Port has a challenging end of the season and need a few more wins. They have a home game against Collingwood this week before heading to Victoria to take on the reigning premiers Western Bulldogs at Ballarat before finishing the home and away season with an easy match hosting the pathetic Gold Coast Suns.
A win in this game will go a long way to securing the top four finish and that is how we see this game playing out.
Collingwood is unbeaten in their past four games with three wins and a draw against Adelaide but they have hit the scoreboard more frequently which was their major issue in the first half of the year.
The sides met earlier in the season in Round 14 at the MCG with Port Adelaide way too good winning by 31 points.
Robbie Gray was breathtaking in that win kicking a game high five goals and collecting 20 disposals. He again looks a good bet to kick the most goals.
The Collingwood midfield found plenty of the footy in the last clash with Steele Sidebottom leading all possession winners with 36 disposals and Adam Treloar (35) and Scott Pendlebury (32) also cracking the thirties.
Collingwood has been terrific in the second half of the year and there is lots to like about the Pies heading into 2018 for now, the Power simply have too much to play for and we are sticking with them getting a valuable four points.
The acid test will come for the Power next week against the Bulldogs – win that and they are genuine premiership contenders.
Robbie Gray kicked a game high five goals when these sides met earlier in the season and looks a good bet to kick the most.
