Sunshine Coast (Wednesday) Betting Preview & Tips

Betting tips for every race. Today’s best bet is in race 2.

The Sunshine Coast continues to have a huge work load and raced on Sunday. There have been relatively small fields so it is holding up fairly well. There were a series of bushfires near the track last week which haven't helped things. But as we always say horses getting to the crown of the track in the straight have a big advantage.

QUADDIES (races 5, 6,7,8)

Wide Play: 3,8,9,15/1,2,3,8/1,3,8,9/1,2,4,6

Next Best Bet:  R4 – 4. CORNFORTH

Best Roughie: R5 – 15. KENDALL'S DREAM

R1 - 12.34pm. HOT 91.1 Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 3 Handicap - 1200m.

No6 MUDDY ROPE Had no luck when fourth this track last start. Never runs a bad race here and has race fitness on his side. Tricky barrier but looks hard to beat.

No1 SPRING TYCOON Very promising horse resuming here from a break. He has raced in top company and did well considering he was one of many horses who didn't like Eagle Farm before it closed indefinitely. He has won twice first-up and drawn very well although distance maybe a shade short.

No3 THE AMATEUR Another handy horse resuming here and has had two soft barrier trials in the lead up. First-up form is only fair.

No5 SCRABBLE Recent form is just average but hasn't had a lot of luck. Does race well here and should get the run of the race.

R2 - 1.08pm. COASTLINE BMW Class 5 Handicap - 1000m.

No3 GRACIDA (BEST BET) Ran sensational time when winner this track and distance last start. He was scratched from Saturday to run here. Only has to repeat last start to win and has won a trial since last start.

No5 SILIQUA Gets back in his races and flashed home again at Doomben last start in a harder race when fifth. There will be plenty of early pace here which suits and has a strong record this track and distance.

No7 NAVUA MIST Disappointing last start at Doomben previous NSW provincial and country form is strong. Chance here.

No1 PRIME TARGET He was having his first start in 18 months when won at Ipswich. Has plenty of ability but a few issues. Still rates highly here.

R3 - 1.43pm. XXXX Gold Mares Maiden Plate - 1200m.

No2 CLASSAY Ran home strongly for second at the Gold Coast in a harder race than this last time. Is ready to win her maiden now.

No8 STAR ADELE First starter but has had two trials and caught our eye both times. Might need a run or two but has claims in a weak race.

No1 BIA TYCHE Has never been far from the money in her nine starts with four minor placings. This is weak but starting to get up in the weights.

No6 SHE'S FAST Has had a stack of chances in this class but has been placed a few times. No luck last couple and a chance at odds here.

R4 - 2.18pm. YALUMBA Entires and Geldings Maiden Plate - 1200m.

No4 CORNFORTH (NEXT BEST BET) Has run five seconds and a third from six starts. Trialled very well before first-up nose second to a promising horse last time. Surely he can win this.

No5 DENBURG He will be a lot fitter for first start this area when midfield. Has trialled solidly of late and has hopes here.

No6 GALLANT SAGA Placed here last start when a handy third. Has had a few chances but each-way claims here.

No9 LORD ARCHER First starter who has had three trials leading into this. Stable is noted for first-up plunges so keep very safe.

R5 - 2.53pm. BUTLER MCDERMOTT LAWYERS QTIS Three-Years-Old Maiden Plate - 1000m.

No3 KING RAGNAR Very well backed at first start when had no luck and finished second this track. Should have nearly won last time and bad barrier the only worry.

No9 DON'T STUTTER Had no luck from a wide barrier last start when a good fourth at Ipswich. She has drawn the rails here and much better suited.

No15 KENDALL'S DREAM (BEST ROUGHIE) Showed a lot of pace and fight when second at the Gold Coast last time over 800m. The 1000m should suit better and has a light weight.

No8 CRYSTAL AMOR Has had two trials to prepare her for first start here. Trials were ordinary but not asked to do much and she is better than it appears.

R6 - 3.28pm. Sponsor A Race For Dad Fillies and Mares Class 3 Handicap - 1200m.

No3 MY GIRL HAYLEY Has run second at both starts this campaign. She is drawn perfectly here and should be very fit. If she doesn't win this she will never win again.

No1 NICCONI LEGGERA Looked like being top flight early on but has been just solid of late. Placed past two starts and each way again here.

No2 WINDY SANDS Caused an upset when won first-up here. Up in the weights here but good win last time and has been placed twice second-up.

No8 CANTON ROAD Usually about the place this track and has a light weight hope in this small field.

R7 - 4.03pm. Book Your SCTC Father's Day Function Class 4 Handicap - 1400m.

No3 REAL STING Finished powerfully to win a race this track last start and this is no harder. Has the top jockey at this track and not harshly weighted.

No1 FABVIER Win two on end and then second in a Saturday race at Doomben when had no luck in the straight. Strong hopes here.

No9 FINNOMONY Very good second in a Saturday race at Doomben and then had no luck last start at Ipswich. Give another chance.

No8 DAMN FINE Nice gelding who can run the occasional good race. Expected to improve on last-start failure.

R8 - 4.38pm. ATA CELEBRATES 50 YEARS Class 2 Handicap - 1600m.

No4 KNOCKOURA Won a maiden this track and distance last start. Up in class but looks promising which is more than most of these can claim.

No2 THORNETT Finished powerfully to win this track last start. Is honest when strikes form and this isn't much harder than last time.

No1 FIVE STUD POKER Can mix his form but on his day can be hard to beat. No luck when fourth this track last start and suited here.

No6 PILLARA Will be a lot fitter for very good first-up effort when third this track behind handy horses.
