A rare Saturday metropolitan standard Gold Coast meeting but it usually races every Saturday as a provincial track. The track is playing well enough and there has been no rain. But often on big race days those coming down the centre of the track are favoured.

QUADDIES (races 6-7-8-9)

Skinny Play:  2,5/7/2,13/2,7,9

Wide Play: 2,5,9,11/1,2,3,7/2,4,11,13/2,5,7,9

BEST BET: R3 – 7. BONSHO

Next Best Bet: R4 – 1. MR EPIC

Best Roughie: R8 – 13. LANDMARKS

R1 - 11.42am. CNW.COM.AU Fillies and Mares Benchmark 80 Handicap - 1200m.

No8 OF THE DAY Has struck form of late and was backed for a lot of money last start when originally an emergency and then got a run. This isn't much harder and looks the one to beat.

No3 BONNE CHEVAL Has won impressively at past two starts in the northern rivers. This harder but an in form mare.

No9 FINAL ZERO She is as honest as they come and just nailed on the line at Doomben last start. This suits and should be on the pace for a long way.

No4 POSITIVE PROBLEMS Sydney mare whose form is solid without being great in that area. Did trial well at Randwick earlier and this might suit much better.

VALUE RUNNER: No4 POSITIVE PROBLEMS

R2 - 12.17pm. Haneco Lighting Open Handicap - 1100m.

No2 LONDEHERO Probably the worst open company race in a long time in Queensland. The field is made up of old horses who are mostly out of form. But on his day Londehero would win this. Likes the pace on and he should be able to run home hard.

No3 ROCKY KING Another old timer who was run off his feet last start. This track is usually softer than most others and that might help him regain the form which has seen him win 17 races.

No11 NAKANAI Ran a nice race in easier company when fifth at Doomben last time. Likes this track and bobs up at big odds occasionally.

No4 SONY LEGEND He has been a disappointment this campaign and has had a few chances. But this is weak and he should get a nice run here.

VALUE RUNNER: No3 ROCKY KING

R3 - 12.52pm. Schneider Electric Class 3 Plate - 1100m.

No7 BONSHO (BEST BET) Very fast mare who had no luck from bad barriers at two starts before last start strong win at Doomben. Well drawn here and her main danger was scratched. Looks very hard to beat.

No6 VALLESECO Has won two of four starts including latest at the Sunshine Coast. A horse on the up and hard to beat again.

No9 MAKE HER OWN WHEY Doesn't win many races but never far away. Placed past two in handy company and well-drawn here.

No11 JEST EXCEL Has never run a bad race in six starts and handy third last time was very good. Always an each-way hope.

VALUE RUNNER: No9 MAKE HER OWN WHEY

R4 - 1.27pm. NHP Electrical Engineering Products Open Handicap - 1800m.

No1 MR EPIC (NEXT BEST BET) Won two starts back at Doomben and then the jockey outridden last start when a close second. This isn't strong and he gets in well at the weights after an apprentice's claim.

No4 OUTRAGED He has been most unlucky at his two runs back from a spell and quickly up to 1800m here. Gets back in his races but there should be pace on here which will suit him.

No6 LORD COCONUTS got back to last and not suited by slow early pace when flashed home late for fifth at Doomben over 1600m last start. Has had issues but can win.

No3 LORDAG Better known over shorter races but can finish fast and has won at this trip. The 1800m might be his best option these days.

VALUE RUNNER: No6 LORD COCONUTS

MR EPIC (NEXT BEST BET) Gold Coast 04:27 - Winner

R5 - 2.02pm. Legrand Australia Ratings Band Band 0-70 Handicap - 1400m.

No11 JADEDFOX Good winner at Doomben two starts back and then not much luck when fourth that track in a similar race to this last start. Very hard to beat.

No2 MALKARA Racing very well and had to overcome missing the start to win this track last start. This is harder and poorly drawn but he is promising and has won his past three starts.

No15 DRIVING WHEELS has some good provincial form and the track was too hard when beaten at Doomben last start. This softer surface might help.

No5 REALLY REILLY Terrible last start but did strike some trouble. Back to 1400m here and has a 3kgs claim for an in form apprentice. Should have nearly won when fifth at his previous start.

VALUE RUNNER: No5 REALLY REILLY

R6 - 2.37pm. Prysmain Cables Colts and Entires Benchmark 80 Handicap - 1200m.

No2 HANWRITTEN Very disappointing last start when well beaten as favourite first-up. But can do that and then produce a top run next start. On his day he would win this easily.

No5 TYCOON ACE Has won two and been third at the other of past three starts. Racing in very good form and looks hard to beat again.

No9 BEAT STREET Won two of his past four starts and no luck at all in the other two. This looks a nice race for him.

No11 NEPTUNE PALACE Another who is racing very well with a win and two seconds at past three starts. Should get a nice run with cover here.

VALUE RUNNER: No9 BEAT STREET

R7 - 3.17pm. BGW Group Of Companies QTIS Three Year Old Handicap - 1100m.

No7 BASARA At only start was a very strong winner at Doomben when beat some smart horses. This is stronger but she has shown plenty in trials before first start. Looks very hard to beat at this distance.

No1 SHOGUN SUN No doubt he is the best horse in the race and won last start in Sydney. Being set for the Group One Golden Rose. Big weight and tricky barrier. She will need a touch of luck.

No3 ITALIA BELLA Still a maiden but has had three starts all in stakes company and raced well each time. Another being set for better things and only worry is this might be a shade short.

No2 PARADIS IMPERIAL Prolific winner in country areas and scored in a $100,000 race in Townsville last start. She is very honest and has the rails barrier here.

VALUE RUNNER: No2 PARADIS IMPERIAL

R8 - 3.57pm. CNW Electrical Wholesale Class 6 Handicap - 1400m.

No4 STAR OF NIGHT Good third first-up and drops in weight here. Likes this track and despite having had leg problems has won five races. Good hopes here.

No13 LANDMARKS (BEST ROUGHIE) Racing very well in country NSW with wins three of past four starts in the northern rivers. This type of race suits.

No2 CORNROW Has had his problems but rarely runs a bad race. Won at Doomben and then track was too hard when well beaten last time. Give another chance.

No11 LOTHARIO Has had little luck of late and this is ideal following fast finishing last start second at Doomben. Each-way here.

VALUE RUNNER: No13 LANDMARKS

R9 - 4.37pm. Kimberley Accessories No Metro Wins Handicap - 1800m.

No7 ROBBERS COBBER Nicely bred horse who has shown plenty of heart winning at past two starts this. This is harder but this distance should suit very well.

No9 SIDETRIP Poorly drawn here but recent form has been very good with wins his past two starts. Stable has a big opinion of him and he looks one of the main players here.

No5 SNAPPER Hasn't won for a while but generally about the pace. This trip suits and he is one of the few chances who is well drawn.

No2 CHLOE’S COMET Has a terrible barrier but has been racing well. With any luck should be in the finish here and by this race those coming deep might be suited.

VALUE RUNNER: No5 SNAPPER
