The false rail goes from 14 metres into the True Position for today’s meeting. It was at the 12-metre position the week before so should be a good pad for racing.

The track is rated as a Soft 7 on Monday and with a few showers forecast it could hold or be downgraded.

Pay to keep an eye on the weather on the day.

There is a few smart ones running later in Speedeor (Race 6) and Crocodile Rock (Race 7), but generally looks a tough meeting.

No5 FOX SWIFT relished the drop in class reveling to post a brilliant win over 1203m in a maiden against her own sex at Sale on August 5. Top jockey Luke Nolen keeps the ride and she only goes up a kilo to 58kg and looms with good claims.

No7 SHAMAR showed she was primed for a big effort fresh with a tearaway win in a 1000m trial at Pakenham on August 9. She is down in class here on her fifth over 1200m at Caulfield on April 8 and carries 56kg with Taylor Marshall’s 2kg claim.

VALUE RUNNER: No7 SHAMAR

R2 – 1.00pm. Win A Car At Highways Handicap – 1600m.

No4 BONUS D’ORO Has been winning with plenty left in the tank. She chases a hat-trick here after posting an impressive win over 1400m here on August 16. She does rise 3kg to 58.5kg here but gets senior jockey Brad Rawiller to ride.

No8 DANCE FOR ME Returns from a 28-day gap here after running a solid fourth over 1400m at Sale on August 2. She has top jockey Dwayne Dunn to guide her across from gate 11 and she is race-hardened and ready for this.

No3 ANOTHER BULLSEYE was elevated into a higher grade when finished fifth over 1700m at Flemington on August 5. She has been freshened for this and would go on her prior win over 1600m last month here.

No12 PRIA ECLIPSE she gave her punters an honest run for their money when finishing a hard fought second over 1600m here last Wednesday. She is on the quick back up but gets senior rider Linda Meech as her new pilot. Has claims.

VALUE RUNNER: No12 PRIA ECLIPSE

R3 – 1.35pm. Ladbrokes Info Hub Handicap – 1800m.

No4 MINOAN SPIRIT is one of the youngest in this field and looks to have more upside than most. With top trainer Darren Weir to put the polish on he can do better than his last start fourth over 1600m here on August 6. Better track here is a help too.

No5 SUPER MARIO broke through for his second career win over 1600m at Bairnsdale on August 10. He chases back to back wins here and with the experienced Noel Callow on board can be right in the firing line again.

SCRATCHED No1 PRAESENTIA is a veteran galloper who has been finishing off his races with a heap of power. With the claim of apprentice Brandon Stockdale he will carry 59kgand can go one better than his last start here over 1600m on August 16.

VALUE RUNNER: No7 BY DESIGN

R4 – 2.10pm. M & D Dillon Constructions Handicap – 1300m.

No3 MIGHTY BOSS faces one the toughest matches on this card with seven last-start winners lined up for battle here. He pulled away to an empathic win over 1208m in a maiden at Sale on July 2 at his second start. Coasted home in a recent trial over 950m and ready.

No2 LINA’S HERO will wear a nose-roll for the first time. Made a perfect debut when tearing away to a 2¼ length win over 1212m in a maiden at Sale on August 17. That was impressive and looks to be a good chance here for comeback trainer Tony Vasil.

SCRATCHED No13 KHARIR she wound up and finished strongly to score a narrow win over 1100m against her own sex in a maiden at Geelong on on August 15. She has top jockey Regan Bayliss to guide her across from gate 12 and would respect.

SCRATCHED No7 MECUM had to work hard to keep his nose in front on the line for his maiden win over 1200m at Mildura on August 18. That was only his third start and with Ethan Brown’s 3kg claim has his handicap reduced to 56kg.

VALUE RUNNER: No7 MECUM

R5 – 2.45pm. Sheamus Mills Bloodstock Handicap – 1000m.

SCRATCHED No3 MODERN WONDER gets her chance dropping down to midweek class. With former WA apprentice Jordan Turner’s 1.5kg claim she will carry 60kg against her own sex. This is milder than her first-up fourth over 1100m at Caulfield on August 19.

No2 UNIQUE LOVELY has been on a winning rampage and is chasing a fourth straight victory here. With apprentice Brandon Stockdale’s 2kg claim will carry 60kg. This is her biggest weight to date at seven starts but she should cope.

No1 MOTOWN LIL is another high-weight mare where apprentice Ethan Brown’s claim is crucial bringing her weight down to 59kg. She ran a great second over 1200m at Flemington on May 7 at her last start. Has a rock solid record fresh.

No4 WORLD OF HOPE with the strength of Dwayne Dunn in the saddle could lift her to win. She has been honest enough without winning chasing steadily to run ninth over 1100m at Caulfield on August 19. This is easier here.

VALUE RUNNER: No4 WORLD OF HOPE

R6 – 3.20pm. The Importer Handicap – 1000m.

No6 SPEEDEOR (BEST BET) was highly fancied in the betting behind Heatherly in last Saturday’s Carlyon Stakes (1000m). Heatherly ran a cracking second to the Group 1 Goodwood placed Missrock in the feature race. On the strength of his past three wins at the provincials and at Flemington he rates highly here carrying 53.5kg with Ethan Brown’s 3kg claim.

No9 BARTHELONA covered a lot of ground fresh and should repeat again here.

No3 SUPER MAXI showed he was tuned for this with a trial win at Rosehill.

No15 BIT OF A LAD is rock hard and expect a good showing again here.

No9 MANAPINE looms to have handy each-way claims on exposed form.

No12 UBIN THUNDERSTRUCK if ridden a shade closer he can figure in the finish here.

R8 – 4.30pm. Thecovehotel Handicap – 1400m.

No6 CAMBODIAN PRINCE has impressed at winning at two of his five starts. He pulled up distressed when finishing last over 1600m here on March 1. Forget that run and with top jockey Regan Bayliss to steer can get back on the right track.

No5 MAI SHINY CHOICE with a draw on the rail and two straight wins under his belt he makes a compelling case. Latest had to fight hard to claw to a narrow win over 1400m at Pakenham on August 20. Drops a kilo to 58.5kg.

No13 RED GATEAU (BEST ROUGHIE) has excellent form on country tracks with two straight wins at Bairnsdale and Seymour. Latest he ripped away to a 2¼ length win over1400m at Seymour on August 19. With Ben Thompson’s 1.5kg claim he carries 54.5kg.
