Gold Coast (Saturday) Betting Preview & Tips

Betting tips for every race at Gold Coast. Today’s best bet is in race 7

Fri, 1 Sep, 1:56 AM

A usual Saturday standard Gold Coast meeting. The track is playing well and there has been no rain. It played to front runners last week and will probably do the same again as it should be very fast.

QUADDIES (races 6-7-8-9)

Skinny Play: 4,6/3,8/1,4/2,4

Wide Play: 2,4,6,7/1,3,4,8/1,3,4,7/2,4,6,7

Next Best Bet:  R6 – 3. DANSEZ

Best Roughie: R4 – 4. ENDLESS DON

R1 - 12.33pm. SKY RACING QTIS Three-Years-Old Class 1 Plate - 900m.

No1 MAHARNI Good winner this course and distance last start in handy time. Up in weight but hard to beat again.

No3 GIRL IN A MILLION Well beaten in much harder races in two starts last campaign. Won only other start very easily. Should be hard to beat here.

No2 WARFACE Won at Ipswich over 1200m last start. Coming back in distance but has solid form.

No6 SPITLOCK Can go very fast and stop just as quickly. This far easier than last start and has been placed here this distance.

R2 - 1.08pm. Moet Ice Party Derby Day Maiden - 1100m.

No3 BERAHT Has been running some good races in far harder company than this. Not far away at Doomben last start and should be hard to beat here.

No8 WASHINGTON STREET Two runs have been only average but he is reportedly pretty smart on his track work and expected to go better with race experience.

No2 TAY SWIFT Had some good form in previous campaigns and resuming here. Trialled okay at Doomben recently.

No5 OLD MATE First starter here but has trialled solidly for a race like this. Respect.

BERAHTGold Coast 04:08 - Winner

R3 - 1.48pm. SKY RACING Maiden Handicap - 1300m.

No8 COMPLICIT Scratched on Wednesday to run here. First start was solid and should be fitter now. Has trialled nicely.

No10 BIA TYCHE Never far away and has run five minor placings. Will find the right race soon and this could be it.

No2 SOLARCRAFT Had three trials before first-up second in a similar race. This distance should suit and drawn a good barrier.

No4 THE TINMAN His three starts have been just fair but he did show improvement last time when fourth in a similar race. Has trialled okay previously.

R4 - 2.23pm. CANARY BAR CAULFIELD CUP Class 4 Handicap - 1800m.

No5 WALWA Getting close to another win and drawn a decent barrier here. Should get the run of the race.

No4 ENDLESS DON (BEST ROUGHIE) Doesn't win many but we liked the way he got home at Ipswich last start over 1700m. This type of race suits very well. Value chance.

No2 THERMAL UNIT Has good form this track and distance and last start got caught in a pocket before being pushed back through the field. Better placed now.

No1 BINARY Had good form leading into last start when tailed off a long last. The track was far too hard that day and give another chance here at this distance.

R5 - 2.58pm. SKY RACING Class 2 Handicap - 1400m.

No2 DEVIL’S FIRE Has been a consistent placegetter and second again in a similar race last start. Always a hope these type of races.

No4 HANOVER SQUARE Had been struggling for form until last start when second this track and distance. One of the main players.

No7 TEMUJIN'S MOON Always about he place in these type of races and has the pace to overcome the poor barrier.

No6 KICKSTART MY HEART Good winner this track two starts back and then no luck last time. Each-way here.

R6 - 3.38pm. THE BEER SHED OCT 7 Fillies and Mares Class 1 Handicap - 1200m.

R7 - 4.18pm. PINK RIBBON CUP 23RD SEP Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 1 Handicap - 1200m.

No1 HAPPY HOOVES (BEST BET) Trialled very well with an impressive win before first-up third this track. Has the pace to overcome a bad barrier and has an apprentice's claim here. This isn't very hard and a lot fitter now.

No3 FALKIRK DRIVE He is much better than last start when last this track in July when struck trouble. Can race well fresh here.

No4 HARLEY HOG Only won one race but has runs even minor placings and a couple of fourths. Always an each-way hope.

No7 FREDDIE FOX TROT Won a strong northern rivers maiden last start in good style. This harder but rates highly.

R8 - 4.58pm. SKY RACING Class 5 Handicap - 1200m.

No2 I AM THE SCULPTOR On his day he is up to better city class but can be hard to catch. Resuming here but has won first-up and has had two trials.

No4 ALWAYS SACRED Has been very disappointing this campaign but is down in class here. Continues to trial well so respect.

No7 JOBIWOOD We liked his trial win before two most recent starts when just okay. Ready to do better now.

No6 MORE THAN MONEY Three most recent runs have been solid without having much luck. Has an ideal barrier draw here.
