BEST BET: R3 – 1. GRAND FINALIST
Next Best Bet: R1 – 1. AUGUSTUS
Best Roughie: R5 – 4. MALZOOM
No1 AUGUSTUS (NEXT BEST BET) comes out of better races than this and looks well suited here dropping back from the midweek level. From barrier 7 he should be able to roll forward here and dominate the race. He looks to be better than these and if he doesn’t win here, I would be worried.
No5 LANGLEY gets blinkers on for the second start here and was good enough on debut.
No4 BULLET SHOT comes out of the same race as Langley last start and was solid enough.
No9 STATE OF PLAY should appreciate the step up in distance here, and will appreciate the wide open spaces.
VALUE RUNNER: No9 STATE OF PLAY
No10 ROSE OF SAVANNAH looks much more suited here than in R1 over 1600m, if she was to run here she would be very hard to beat.
No8 JAWHARA was good enough on debut and gets the blinkers on here which should sharpen her up.
No1 FABRICATOR was solid first-up and has a good record without winning. Up to 1400m now suits him well.
No3 ITASCA has been consistent enough and now gets the blinkers on.
VALUE RUNNER: No8 JAWHARA
No1 GRAND FINALIST (BEST BET) comes out of a really good race on debut behind Bratislava where they ran wicked time there. The barrier trial coming in was very good and in solid time. From gate 2 he will jump and run them along here and give them a beating.
No4 SPENCER comes out of some nice races in his first prep and should be respected.
No6 IKABA trialled well going into the first prep and didn’t live up to it on raceday, the trials coming in this time were good.
No7 STANLEY PARK should be much fitter for the fresh run and should appreciate the blinkers.
VALUE RUNNER: No7 STANLEY PARK
No6 BRIGHT IDEA is brilliantly bred and was solid enough on debut in an ok race and gets a tongue tie on here.
No2 DAPHNE ANN improved a hell of a lot trial to trial and if that upward swing continues she will run well here.
No1 BOUNDING BADGER has been running well enough as of late and should go well again.
No7 CAPER has been doing a good enough job at the trials and should run well here.
VALUE RUNNER: No1 BOUNDING BADGER
No3 CREVETTINE comes out of some nice form races and must be well thought of to be a 5yo mare who is still racing.
No2 RIGHT AS RAIN has been trialing up well coming into a fresh run and brings a strong SP profile into this.
No1 CHARLIE CHAP resumes after taking on some better 2yo races last time in and should run well on the home track.
No4 MALZOOM (BEST ROUGHIE) has had a stable change since the last prep and comes out of some good races, the trial was good and I am wary.
VALUE RUNNER: No4 MALZOOM
No1 PARLAY VOUS comes out of better races than this and is yet to live up to the wraps on her, she gets blinkers here and should be hard to beat,
No2 RAIDEN is in on Friday also, and looks a chance here if he runs in this.
No5 KNOTTED has trialled well coming into this, the run last start at the midweeks wasn’t too bad and should be respected.
No4 SHARPSBURG looks next best in a race which drops away fast.
VALUE RUNNER: No5 KNOTTED
No8 MOSS TRIP ran last first-up, but was only beaten four-lengths by Super Ex who takes on a better race at Randwick today, second-up way down in grade, respect this runner.
No3 CLEVANICC didn’t run the 1600m out with the big weight last start, back to 1400m down in weight suits.
No1 READY SET SING was just beaten last start in a nice enough race at Goulburn, the form around him is solid.
No9 PENULTIMATE STAR should be peaking up third-up from a spell here and has been running in some good races.
VALUE RUNNER: No1 READY SET SING
No6 DELAIDES BOY broke the maiden in strong fashion last start and could well go on with it here.
No3 PERPETUAL MOTION had to just win at Bathurst by turning up and he did by seven lengths, he should run well here.
No1 ANTHONYS BEST gets a good claim at the weights here down to 60kgs. Second-up he should run well.
No5 TOO CHIC was good last start and should run well yet again here.
VALUE RUNNER: No5 TOO CHIC
