The rail will be at five-metres for the entire circuit and the track is rated as a Soft 7 (Friday).
The weather is going to be cool and with cloud on the Sunday, there is little chance of the track drying out much so keep an eye on the pattern of racing in the early events.

No4 DANGER IN DEVON has been knocking on the door with four placings at his past five starts. He is rock hard ready for this trip on his last-start second over 2200m in a maiden at Pakenham on August 20. That was his third run over a longer distance.
No2 CHOUXTING THE MOB ran a most solid fourth over 2200m in a maiden here on August 25. That was his second start over a middle-distance and would expect to come more forward with the run under his belt. Has top jockey Damien Oliver to aid.
No9 PRESSING MATTERS struck a bog track but ploughed through the slash well to finish fifth over 2350m at Warrnambool on August 24. He was the $2.70 favourite that day and with three runs over the journey to his credit is fit.
No8 MIREBEAU is a former Sydney galloper now racing in Victoria. Still under his handlers Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott and he gets his chance of a breakthrough win here on his boxing fourth over 1600m last start on August 20.

No13 SWORN EVIDENCE is a daughter of champion sire Redoute’s Choice and showed she had inherited ability with her strong second over1000m in a 3yr maiden at Sandown on August 23. That was her debut and she is bound to be fitter.
No1 AMTHAAL is resuming from a spell and was highly-fancied at her two starts at Morphettville and Pakenham at her debut campaign. Hails from the State’s leading juvenile yard of Team Hayes and would pay close attention despite having no trial form.
No10 REMEMBER THE NAME is race-hardened now with four runs under her belt. She has claims here on her last-start good fourth over 1400m at Flemington on April 25. She plummets down in class and hails from a top Melbourne stable.
No4 CEREBELLUM was a solid effort to finish third over 1300m in a F&M maiden at Seymour on August 19. That was her first start back from a spell and she has drawn the rail so should get a soft transit here.

No11 TAVISTOCK ABBEY faces a tricky field here with many making their debuts. He has the form on the board with a second here in a maiden over 1300m in July, He did trial well to finish second over 950m at Taralgon on August 21.
No3 HEAVENLY THOUGHT was entitled to peak on his debut run when finishing a good second over 1100m in a maiden at Echuca on August 21. Will have the Darren Weir polish and has experienced jockey John Allen to steer from gate (14).
No6 JOHNNY VINKO is a staying bred 3yr making his debut. He was given a 950m trial at Taralgon where he did a good job to run second on August 21. He gets the experienced jockey Stephen Baster to ride and would respect.
No10 SAM SLICK will sport blinkers at his third career start. He ran a top third in a 1212m maiden at Sale on August 17 from a 30-day break. He was caught deep and fought all the way to the wire. His draw in (15) is a setback.

No6 GUNN ISLAND (NEXT BEST BET) looks ready to fire right to the top here on his two good placings this campaign. Latest he ran a strong third over 1200m at Sandown on August 16. He was well-supported into $6.50 and expect a bold showing. Has Michael Walker as his new pillion and drawn on the rail he gets a soft run.
No11 SOGNANI she ran a great second over 1400m against her own sex at Bendigo on August 13.
No4 BEST HOFFA has been racing in good stead and again looms with claims here.
No5 BIG PHIL another ultra-consistent galloper with each-way prospects here.

No2 POTEMKIN (BEST BET) looks primed to claim a hat-trick as he is racing in outstanding fashion. Latest won 1400m at Echuca on July 27 at the odds of $5. Lachlan King’s 2kg claim drops his weight to 58kg and he drew (2). Trainer Mike Moroney is enjoying a golden vein of form as well.
No3 LYNCH MOB bounced back from a spell with a maiden win. Would respect here.
No1 SKULDUGGERY This is his fourth start back and is now at his peak.

No11 BIRDS OF TOKYO she ploughed through the mud to post an imposing win over 1700m at Warrnambool on August 24. She drops 2kg to 55kg and gets a change of rider with Michael Walker her new partner. Good chance.
No10 KEVIN’S TIME has been the No1 pick with punters at his past three starts. He won at Echuca in July before finishing a good second over 1600m at Bendigo on August 13. He drops from 59.5kg to 55.5kg and gets Dean Yendall to ride.
No2 THUNDER TEDDINGTON has been well prepared for a big showing fresh with two trials. Latest he smashed his rivals by 4 lengths over 1430m at Taralgon on August 21. The blinkers go off and he is from an astute yard.

No9 PLATINUM is from the yard of Godolphin trainer James Cummings who is doing a great job since he took the reins from John O’Shea in June. He was a talented two-year-old and expect him to run a bold race first up with Andrew Mallyon to steer.
No5 ZOOBA MAN showed he was on track for a good effort with a cosy trial win over 950m at Taralgon on August 21. He showed plenty of promise last campaign and won his maiden at his third start over 1406m. Bears thought here.
No3 KAZIO gets a nice drop in class on his last start 11th over 1100m at Caulfield on August 19. His prior form in the provincials was rock solid last campaign and would expect further improvement here. He has the experienced Luke Nolen to ride.
No8 ROYAL APPLAUSE is resuming from a spell and she has a solid first-up record of two placings from her two starts fresh. She has drawn the rail and gets top jockey Mark Zahra to ride and she has been placed in the city on a Saturday.

No6 MODERN WONDER she is bound to strip fitter on her first-up fourth over 1100m at Caulfield on August 19. She is a multiple stakes-placed mare facing a competitive field but not up to stakes company and expect her to run strongly.
No5 ANOTHER COLDIE has gone from strength to strength with two Morphettville wins this campaign. Latest he ran a solid sixth after being held up at a vital point in the race over 1400m at Flemington on April 25. He gets the Darren Weir polish fresh here.
No1 STAR FORTUNE is resuming from a good spell and has an outstanding record fresh of four starts for three wins and a second. With Lachlan King’s 2kg claim his weight drops to a more comfortable 59.5kg and worth watching.
No4 VALLIANO has the blinkers going back on and the winkers coming off here. Latest he ran a solid fourth over 1400m at Caulfield on July 15. He is from the in-form yard of Team Hayes and gets top rider Mark Zahra to ride.

No6 RIKIBOBBY gets top provincial jockey Dean Yendall to guide. He has been knocking on the door with placings at his past two starts in higher grade. Latest was second over 1700m here on July 16. With two runs over the metric mile now is ready.
No2 ZELENUS is a son of noted wet track sire Helenus. He broke through for a terrific win over 1400m in a maiden at Echuca on August 21. That was his third start and there is room for further improvement. Will have admirers.
No12 ANGELIC SPIRIT was a fighting winner in a maiden at Sale before elevated in class where she ran a strong fifth over 1300m at Sandown against her own age and sex. This 3yo filly gets her chances here, despite her wide alley in (14).
