A usual Gold Coast midweek meeting. The track is playing well with all horses having their chances of late. There is sign of rain so the track should be very fast.

R1 - 12.33pm. CHRIS MUNCE NEW ATA PRESIDENT QTIS Three-Years-Old Maiden Handicap - 1800m.
No1 SURPRISE BULLET (NEXT BEST BET) Has been improving with recent racing and placed past two starts in far stronger races over 1600m. This distance suits and looks very hard to beat.
No2 COUNTRY LUCK At second race start caught the eye with a third at Beaudesert. This isn't much harder.
No8 SHE SALUTES Was third last start at Ipswich but beaten a long way. Down in class and this distance should suit.
No3 GRANVILLE ISLAND Bred to win the Melbourne Cup and this distance should suit better than last start when midfield at Doomben over 1650m.
VALUE RUNNER: No2 COUNTRY LUCK
R2 - 1.08pm. UBET WAYNE WILSON MEDAL ATA FUNCTION OCT 5 Fillies & Mares Maiden Hcp - 1200m.
No2 SWEET CAVIAR (BEST BET) Scratched on Saturday to run here in what is an easier race. Has been third in handy maiden company past two starts and should nearly win this.
No6 LA SCOPA First starter who has trialled twice for debut here. Liked her last trial and has a good barrier.
No4 CREIDNE Form isn't flash but resuming here after two trials which were solid. Ready to improve.
No3 FATZ Improved a great deal when second at last start in Toowoomba behind a horse who has won again since. Each-way claims.
VALUE RUNNER: No3 FATZ
R3 - 1.43pm. SKYPOINT OBSERVATION DECK Fillies & Mares Class 1 Handicap - 1400m.
No6 FELINO BEL Handy filly on her day who is in slightly easier class here than last start fourth this track. Ready to win a race like this.
No3 MAGIC KITTY Last start Dalby winner from an in form stable who rarely runs a bad race. Each-way in this.
No1 DEER MOUNTAIN Has solid form in NSW provincial and country tracks. Well bred and trialled nicely recently.
No4 CAPA CAYLEE Winner this track three runs back and not a bad run when fourth at Toowoomba last time when had little luck.
VALUE RUNNER: No1 DEER MOUNTAIN
R4 - 2.18pm. MELBOURNE CUP GALLERY RESTAURANT Colts, Geldings & Entires Class 1 Hcp - 1400m.
No5 OUR NICK (BEST ROUGHIE) Won his first start and then unlucky next two runs. Should have run second at the Sunshine Coast last start instead of fourth. Looks great value here.
No3 PUNKENSTEIN Former Hong Kong galloper who was huge odds when he won an Ipswich maiden. Only needs to improve a touch to be in the finish.
No1 CASCATA ROSSA Has had a mixed career and it was just a run when fourth at Ipswich last start. Might be better suited this track and distance.
No2 SKYSCRAPER Has been showing a lot of pace in his races and knocking up the final 100m. Fitter now and this isn't overly hard.
VALUE RUNNER: No4 OUR NICK
R5 - 2.53pm. MELBOURNE CUP DOME PACKAGE Colts, Geldings & Entires Maiden Handicap - 1200m.
No4 LORD ARCHER Very good run at first start and the flat when well beaten last start although had no luck. Would win this if he repeats his first run.
No5 KIMHORSEDASHIAN Apart from having a strange name he has shown some ability and will be fitter for first-up run at the Sunshine Coast in a harder maiden than this.
SCRATCHED No1 CALL THE COPPERS Should have broken his maiden status a long time ago. Has been minor placed all six of his starts but can never draw a good barrier and that has happened again here.
No14 LAKOUDIS Probably the unluckiest horse in Brisbane with seconds his past two starts. The day he has some luck he will win a maiden.
VALUE RUNNER: No14 LAKOUDIS
R6 - 3.28pm. SPRITZER SOIREE PINK RIBBON CUP Class 2 Handicap - 1800m.
No8 FUTURE EVENT Has been racing very well and won this track and distance last start. He is suited this distance and at the weights.
No7 ERCOLANO Scratched Saturday from a harder race to run here. Has won at 1000m and having third run back from a spell.
No1 KUTTAMURRA AL Has finally found form and won two before good second last start in a harder race over 2200m. Back in distance but rates a hope again.
No3 BAR FLY BARRISTER No champion but tries hard in his races and this distance suits nicely.
VALUE RUNNER: No7 ERCOLANO
R7 - 4.03pm. CANARY BAR CAULFIELD CUP Class 5 Handicap - 1400m.
No3 BRACTEATE Has run two good thirds since resuming from a spell and has also had a strong trial. This suits with the only down side the barrier.
No5 D'HARMONY Form is solid enough and doesn't have much luck. Should have finished closer when sixth at Doomben in a Saturday race.
No2 SLYDINI Probably wants a wet track to show his best but good recent trial winner and then not far away in far tougher race last start.
SCRATCHED No6 FLEUR D'ORAGE A noted wet track horse who is racing solidly on dry tracks. Not the worst here.
VALUE RUNNER: No2 SLYDINI
R8 - 4.38pm. ATA CELEBRATES 50 YEARS Class 3 Handicap - 1200m.
No5 AGHNA Quality mare who won two trials before good first-up second behind a promising horse. This is short of her best but should still be very hard to beat.
No2 HI HARRY Had very good form last campaign and resuming here. Usually better after a few runs but has had two trials this time and ready to race well.
SCRATCHED No9 REAL CUTE Was once just a 900m horse but racing with more stamina now and isn't far away from winning a race like this.
No6 NEVER SO SIRIUS Racing very well with two wins and then unlucky in a Highway race at Rosehill before good second at Ipswich last start. Chance again.
VALUE RUNNER: No2 HI HARRY
