Gold Coast (Saturday) Betting Preview & Tips

Betting tips for every race at Gold Coast. Today’s best bet is in race 4.

Fri, 22 Sep, 1:51 AM

A usual Saturday standard Gold Coast meeting with handy fields and some value. As we keep saying the track is playing well and there has been no rain. It played to front runners on Wednesday and will probably do the same again as it should be very fast.

R1 - 12.38pm. Remax Maiden Plate - 2200m.

No3 SIDEWALK TALK Good effort when third at Ipswich last start over 2150m and looks like this is ideal. Should win this poor maiden.

No9 ROTHA'S ROSE Plugs away in these sort of races and should be at least fit.

No2 SHADOW EMPIRE Was taking a huge step up in distance when fair fifth over 2150m at Ipswich last start. Fitter now.

No5 VANQUISH Former Melbourne horse who is bred to sprint but showed some staying ability first go at a middle distance when mid field at Ipswich last start.

R2 - 1.13pm. SPRINTQUIP QTIS Three-Years-Old Fillies Maiden Plate - 900m.

No5 FLOREANA First starter who has not had an official trial. But very well bred and reported to be smart.

No3 COSMIC VIEW Has some fair Newcastle form and trialled well at the Gold Coast for debut this area. Looks hard to beat.

No9 MIRACLE STAR Two race starts have been good seconds over 800m and should have no problems with 900m here.

No11 SOZZLED Placed at Gatton before handy trial win recently. Chance here.

R3 - 1.48pm. GRIFFITH UNIVERSITY Maiden Plate - 1300m.

No4 SILVERWIN Caught deep but showed little when thrashed at Doomben first start this area. On best southern form would win this.

No6 CLEARFIELD (BEST ROUGHIE) Has had a few chances to win a maiden but gets his chance here on last start third this class.

No9 MAJOR LUCK You need a big heart to back him but someone does all the time even though his form is ordinary. Reported to have ability.

No7 LAST CRY Was ordinary only race start but has had three solid trials and this isn't hard.

R4 - 2.23pm. WPIAS PINK SPECTRE Fillies and Mares Class 1 Handicap - 1100m.

No1 VANILLA JEWEL (BEST BET) Only poor run in four starts last campaign was when she got decked at her first run. Other form good for this race and has had two trials to be ready for come back here.

No5 WINTER BRIDE Another well bred mare having her first start this area. Has solid NSW country form and has trialled nicely of late.

No3 CLOVERLEIGH LASS Form last campaign was ordinary but we liked her two recent trials and should go well fresh here.

No2 LADY CAROLYN Resuming and has had a fair trial. Has won this track and has the inside barrier.

R5 - 3.03pm. SIMMONS LIVINGSTON & ASSOCIATE C,G&E Class 1 Handicap - 1100m.

No2 FEAR FACTOR Having first run in six months but caught the eye with good trial win this track recently. This isn't very hard.

No3 BOLD XAVVI Placed behind two very smart horses at Doomben last campaign. Won a recent trial with only down side being usually takes a run to hit his best.

No1 PRESS CENTRE Hasn't run for nearly a year and form over more ground looks his go. But no official trial he has raced against some good horses without being disgraced.

No4 GENERAL SIDERIUS Just fair last couple of runs but has pace and a light weight.

R6 - 3.43pm. STONE GROUP LAWYERS Class 2 Handicap - 900m.

No8 REAL CUTE Has shown more stamina since joining this stable and scratched Wednesday to run here.

No10 ZUKAZ Resuming here without a trial. Has run well against some very good horses.

R7 - 4.23pm. BIRBECKS JEWELLERS PINK RIBBON CUP Class 4 Handicap - 1200m.

No2 BOLD PEAK Freshened since last start failure in a tougher race and usually goes well this type of class.

No4 PROLIFIC BELLE Always tries hard and battled away in a recent open class trial. Always an each-way hope.

No1 CHARLIE CAT Can be a handful and resuming for a new stable. Trialled okay recently and on best form would win this but has plenty of weight.

No6 PLANET AMERICA Good second first-up when could lead that is the key here to him.

R8 - 5.03pm. GCTC PROUDLY SUPPORTS PRC RACEDAY Class 5 Handicap - 1800m.

No8 SIDERO STAR (NEXT BEST BET) Good winner two starts back and the charged home late for unlucky fourth last start. Only needs some luck to be in the finish.

No3 KINCAPLE CHIEF Another who runs home strongly in his races and strong third last start gives him a hope here.

No5 CANONGATE Fitter for two runs from a spell and has won this track and distance.
