A rare Saturday metropolitan meeting at Ipswich as Doomben is given a much needed rest while it has to carry the closed Eagle Farm for another six months . Again virtually no rain for two months and the track is rock hard. But as always with early pace all horses can win especially those coming wide in what is a relatively short straight.

BEST BET: R1 – 1. SNITZKRAFT

Next Best Bet:  R6 – 9. OUR BEEBEE

Best Roughie: R9 – 3. STAR OF NIGHT

R1 - 11.42am. DAIMLER TRUCKS BRISBANE QTIS 3-Y-O Colts & Geldings Handicap - 1200m.

No1 SNITZKRAFT (BEST BET) Showed well above average ability in first campaign with two wins. Then didn't handle the soft tracks when had only two starts in the winter. Has barrier one and looks too good for this field.

No6 SPLITZ Trialled very well and then showed brilliant pace to easily win a maiden. Failed next start in Saturday class but deserves another chance.

No3 NOBLE HUSSLER Raced in much better company than this in the winter and was not disgraced. Had no luck at all only other first-up run and looms as a knock out horse.

No4 WARFACE Has won his past two starts in very good fashion against weaker fields. This is his big test but has an each-way hope.

VALUE RUNNER: No3 NOBLE HUSSLER

R2 - 12.22pm. CNE CONCRETE PUMPING QTIS 3-Y-O Fillies Handicap - 1200m.

No5 MISS EXFACTOR Very smart filly who was second to Houtzen (Magic Millions winner) and beat Shogun Sun (Sydney winner) at her two starts. Won a trial earlier this month.

No4 DANSEZ Winner two of past three starts including one this track. Always a hope these type of races and has a top jockey.

No1 SNAPCHAT GIRL Quality filly who won three on end last time over more ground. Entered for some big races in the south and has to be a chance although this may be too short.

No8 BIMINI ROAD Has been racing very well at the mid weeks and a last start winner this track. The big worry is the barrier against this slick field.

VALUE RUNNER: No4 DANSEZ

R3 - 12.57pm. CITY OF IPSWICH SPRING STAYERS CUP OPEN Handicap -1350m.

No3 SOMEDAY Hadn't won for nearly four years when scored at Doomben last start. Injury prone galloper but should be very hard to beat here. Should get a sit just off the pace.

No4 FLAMBOYER There is no doubt he needs a wet track to do his best but he was a very close fourth in the Eye Liner Stakes this track and distance in the winter. Should lead these.

No1 CHARLIE BOY Has not won for two years and being hampered by big weights and hard tracks. But does like 1350m and is getting down in the weights.

No6 LONDEHERO Who would know with him as on his day he can beat quality fields on others he couldn't beat a pack of maidens. This suits if he is in the right mood.

VALUE RUNNER: No1 CHARLIE BOY

R4 - 1.32pm. CITY OF IPSWICH SPRING STAYERS CUP OPEN Handicap - 2150m.

No2 OUTRAGED Very strong winner last start at Doomben and has won three times this track. This race looks ideal and there should be a good early pace which will suit.

No3 MY DIAMANTINE Was expected to run in the Newcastle Cup last week but wasn't ready. Good winner at 1600m first run back and this looks suitable.

No6 LOVING HOME Very well backed last start but got shunted back to the tail of the field and had too much ground to make up. Chance here.

No7 CAUTHEN'S POWER Has gradually been building up to form and well placed in this race at this distance and with a light weight.

VALUE RUNNER: No 6 LOVING HOME

R5 - 2.07pm. FOLSOM PRISON Class 3 Plate - 1000m.

No5 MOVING PRESS Has always shown plenty of ability and has trialled well for return here. Goes very well fresh and rates highly.

No10 ICE FROST Good strong win this track last start gives her a good hope against what is a low class field.

No8 YARRAPOWER Former NSW galloper who has good form around the provincials. Now with a big betting Caloundra stale so keep very safe for local debut.

No2 DUTY DUDE First-up run was just ordinary but stable is usually competitive when comes up from the northern rivers and does have some good all-around form in previous campaigns.

VALUE RUNNER: No2 DUTY DUDE

R6 - 2.47pm. IRON JACK BEER BenchMark 85 Handicap - 1200m.

No9 OURBEEBEE (NEXT BEST BET) Very smart horse who won four races before having no luck in stakes races during the winter. The dry track here suits as do the weights. Very hard to toss and has won twice first-up.

No3 LE CHEF The 2015 Magic Millions Classic winner who has come back from a retirement to strike old form with two wins last campaign. Goes well fresh and not harshly weighted here.

No1 FIERY HEIGHTS Always about the place in similar company earlier this year. Has had two trials for comeback here winning one in nice fashion.

No6 MISHANI SLEUTH Consistent placegetter before good last start win. Always an each-way hope these races.

VALUE RUNNER: No3 LE CHEF

R7 - 3.27pm. CATTLE CREEK Ratings Band 0 - 70 Handicap - 1200m.

No13 PASSION TO WIN If you back the winner of this you deserve life membership of the punters hall of fame. It is a truly nightmare race but the 13 got away with blue murder in front here last start and won. As good as any here.

No5 IGNITE THE LIGHT Has never even got close to the wraps on him early. Winner this track three starts back and has the pace to be in the lead for a long way.

No15 FREDDIE FOX TROT Has won his past two starts in good fashion at the provincials. Shows he is on the up which is more than most of these.

No1 IRON GEORGE Had good southern form and just run down when second at Toowoomba at first start this area. Deserves some respect.

VALUE RUNNER: No1 IRON GEORGE

R8 - 4.07pm. HANS TRAILERS Benchmark 75 Handicap - 1666m.

No2 SPRING TYCOON Has always shown ability and good win last start. Out to a more suitable distance now and does look well placed here.

No4 CAPETOWN HUSSY Overcame a wide barrier to score a most impressive win at Doomben last start and should have no trouble with the 1666m.

No3 THE AMATEUR Another who has always shown plenty of potential and good midweek winner last start. Has the pace to overcome the bad barrier here.

No8 BEAUMARIS Is probably better at the Sunshine Coast where has won twice recently. But has been placed this track and rates an each-way.

VALUE RUNNER: No8 BEAUMARIS

R9 - 4.47pm. CHANNEL 7 No Metro Wins Handicap - 1350m.

No1 ARENA SALON Has found a new lease of life winning two and being second once from past three starts. Has a 3kgs claim here and a handy barrier. Hard to beat.

No3 STAR OF NIGHT (BEST ROUGHIE) Rarely runs a bad race although dogged with feet problems. Has a good barrier here and should get a nice run just off the pace.

No6 BOURBON ROAD No champion but always tries and has been rewarded with a win and two seconds past three runs in similar races. Has claims again.

No12 BERGERAC Promising horse who once again has drawn a bad barrier. Will need luck to win this tight track but has class edge on these.

VALUE RUNNER: No3 STAR OF NIGHT
