This looks a tough meeting for a Sunday card. The false rail will be four metres to the 600m position and at the true position for the remainder of the course.

With showers forecast the track rating of a Soft 5 (Saturday) could be downgraded.

There are plenty of chances on the eight-race card and suggest watch for betting moves and any track upgrade or downgrade.

R1 – 12.45pm. City Of Ballarat 3YO Maiden – 1200m.

No3 EPTIMUM showed he was on target for a big effort fresh with a strong second in a 1000m Gold Coast trial before coming down to Victoria. Not here to play marbles and with Ryan Maloney riding respect.

No5 MILORD showed plenty of pace at his debut when finishing off well to claim third in a 1200m maiden at Pakenham on September 12. Top jockey Michael Walker again rides and has a far superior gate in one.

No6 NIGHT FALLS was impressive at winning a trial over 700m at Avoca on June 6. Hails from the top yard of Darren Weir and the red hot Group 1 winning jockey Damian Lane is riding here at his debut. Lovely-bred three-year-old.

No9 WEAPON Having his first start back from a spell and showed enough at his debut when finishing fourth over 1100m at Morphettville on March 3. Looked spritely at his trial finishing second over 800m at Cranbourne on September 8.

VALUE RUNNER: No6 NIGHT FALLS

R2 – 1.25pm. Whitford Liquid Waste Maiden Plate – 1200m.

No10 FULL TWIST will be sporting blinkers for the first time. At his only start he ran a fair seventh over 1100m in a maiden at Bendigo. He is from the leading stable of Team Hayes and gets top apprentice Beau Mertens to ride from gate four.

No5 GOLDEN ROAD has been in good form this campaign and can loom as a danger. Latest ran a close third in a busy finish over 1200m in a maiden at Seymour on September 7. The gate is perfect in one to utilize his speed.

No11 HOT HUSSLER has been knocking at the door being placed at all three starts. Latest she found the winner too strong when finishing a sound third over 1000m in a maiden at Warracknabeal on September 2. Been there.

No3 COSSASTOCK nicely bred 4yo who showed good form when finishing a strong third over 1206m in a maiden at Benella on September 4. Was the top pot that and from barrier two and with Mark Zahra will be fancied again.

VALUE RUNNER: No3 GOLDEN ROAD

R3 – 2.05pm. Eclipse Ford Maiden Plate – 1400m.

No14 HOLY MIND appears the omen bet on a Sunday. With the scratchings of many runners come in high here and would forgive last start when ran 11th over 1206m in a maiden at Benella on September 7. Was the $4.80 hot shot but there was a glitch.

No6 DALAHOUSE is drawn to have a soft run throughout and the multiple withdrawals helps the cause here. He did trial well to finish fourth over 900m St Arnaud on July 4. The distance of the trial was far too short and better suited here.

No13 HIYAAM is a nicely bred filly from the stables of Mick Price. She ran a handy fifth over 1400m in a maiden at her debut at double-figure odds. She will benefit from the multiple scratchings here and the distance will suit.

No8 OWN SWEET WAY would expect improvement on her debut third over 1200m in a maiden at Warrnacknabeal on September 2. She is from the stable of former British trainer Matt Cumani and from gate five has claims.

VALUE RUNNER: No8 OWN SWEET WAY

R4 – 2.45pm. Porter Plant BM64 Handicap – 2000m.

No2 TORREGGIANTE showed class to boot away to a smart win over 1800m at Sandown on August 30. He is a winner at two of his past three starts and from barrier six should get a cosy run here. Looks a safe bet.

No3 RETICENT the field was spreadeagled when coasting to a 1½ length win over 1726m at Geelong on September 3. Carried 58.5kg and jumped from gate 12 that day, Goes up to 60.5kg here but has a superior draw in eight.

No4 RIKIBOBBY was a clever winner over 1520m at Geelong on September 3. Was well liked at $4.20 and took control in the last strides for a fighting win. It was another 1¼ lengths back to the third horse. Most reliable and rates well.

No5 AMENDMENT will be chasing a second straight win here after striding to a 3¾ length thrashing over 1606m in a maiden at Benella on September 4. He goes up in grade here but has the in-form James Winks to partner.

VALUE RUNNER: No5 AMENDMENT

R5 – 3.20pm. Sportsbets Power Play BM64 Handicap – 1400m.

No8 ARTIES DREAMWINNER has been having a peach of a campaign and with the in-form Linda Meech to ride makes good appeal. Latest fought hard to finish a sound third over 1300m at Sandown on September 6. Easier grade here.

No2 LAUGHING HEIR ran into a hot one last time when never throwing in the baton to run second over 1400m at Bendigo on September 14. Gets top heavy weight rider Brad Rawiller to ride here from an excellent draw in gate four.

No11 ROYAL DISGUISE was stretched right up in class and battled on okay when running 11th in the Atlantic Jewel (1200m) at Moonee Valley on September 9. She gets experienced jockey Noel Callow to ride and plummets down in class.

No6 ZOOBA MAN (BEST ROUGHIE) trial form was good before running a sound first up fourth over 1221m at Geelong on September 3. Lightly raced rig with plenty of upside and gets top apprentice Beau Mertens to guide here. Command respect.

VALUE RUNNER: No6 ZOOMBA MAN

R6 – 3.55pm. Hygain Winners Choice BM70 Handicap – 1000m.

No9 WORLD OF HOPE should be suited here with a good tempo on. Likes to get back and will find this easier than when finishing seventh over 1000m at Sandown on August 30. One of the good chances.

No2 SANG CHOI BAO his trial form was excellent before finishing third over 1121m at Geelong last start back in December. Has the winkers removed and gets top jockey Brad Rawiller to steer first-up. Would pay to respect.

No7 INDIAN THUNDER should relish the drop in class here on his last start seventh over 1000m at Sandown on September 6. He did win over 1050m at Morphettville three starts ago and with Damian Lane to guide is an each-way chance.

No5 MAGNESPRIT with the scratching of All About Nicci gets a chance here to shine and battled on gamely last start to run a close seventh over 1000m at Pakenham on August 20. Will be fresh and gets the in-form jockey Luke Nolen to guide.

VALUE RUNNER: No7 INDIAN THUNDER

R7 – 4.25pm. Mortimer Petroleum Gold Nugget – 1600m.

No7 KIWIA (BEST BET) has been in blistering form winning two of his past three starts. He trumped them as a red hot $1.90 favourite over 2400m at Caulfield on July 29. Ace trainer Darren Weir has the polish on this bloke and he has a perfect record over this distance here with one start for one win. Has finished inside the placings at the past six of his seven starts.

No1 RAW IMUPLSE is a stablemate to Kiwia and makes appeal on recent outings.

No4 FIRENZE has been in the money at past six of seven starts. Cannot ignore.

No8 MR WONDERFUL is proven on the soft tracks and will be up on the speed.

VALUE RUNNER: No8 MR WONDERFUL

R8 – 4.55pm. Hygain Winners Choice BM64 Handicap – 1200m.

No5 CASINO FOURTEEN (NEXT BEST BET) is having his first start for new trainer Robert Smerdon. He is unbeaten fresh with a record of one start for one win and was smothered in a trial when finishing sixth over 1190m at Cranbourne on September 4. Gets the experienced Noel Callow to ride and this 3yo has plenty of upside. Can kick off on a high.

No8 HURRY has the speed to lead and likes the soft tracks and can go well fresh.

No10 LINGUIST is racing fresh and would expect to be powering home at the finish over the short.

No11 WILL’S BID has an excellent first-up record and has the winkers back on.

VALUE RUNNER: No11 WILL’S BID
