With the AFL football final on Saturday between Adelaide and Richmond, Victoria’s feature racing switches to Friday night at Moonee Valley.
The Group 1 Moir Stakes (1000m) has attracted a high-class field of sprinters, with Russian Revolution having his shot at gaining a berth in the Everest with a critical win at the elite level.
The eight races are all high-grade and most competitive as the spring rolls on towards the Caulfield Cup, Cox Plate and Melbourne Cup.
The false rail will be at the four-metre position and the track should be perfect for the first night meeting of the spring. Rated as a Good 4.
Unfortunately, rain is forecast and it will be cold, so keep an eye out for a downgrade of the track rating.
