Kembla compliments Epsom day, with what is a very underwhelming card. 60 acceptors for eight races, don’t give the punters much of a chance to find each-way value. Thankfully with diluted fields finding a winner becomes a touch easier. Track good, rail +4.
QUADDIES (races 5-6-7-8)
Skinny Play: 5,11 - 6,10 - 1,2,5 - 2,3,5
Wide Play: 5,10,11 - 3,6,10 - 1,2,3,5 - 2,3,5,8
BEST BET: R3 – 7. SACHER TORTE
Next Best Bet: R1 – 2. TOKYO KING
Best Roughie: R8 – 5. CHAYANNE
No2 TOKYO KING (NEXT BEST BET) finds possibly the worst race I have seen at provincial level in a long long time. He gets a good claim for JVO to carry just 57kg here and has been running in some okay races and if he doesn’t win this, a hurdle career beckons.
No4 UNDERGROUND has the least convictions against him and 2400m suits.
No1 BLUE SEAL will be in front of the judge as they go around on the first lap and that’s it.
No3 KINETON will likely earn a cool $1380 for running last here!
VALUE RUNNER: 2/4 exacta
No3 SHOCK ALERT comes out of a good race last start behind Fortensky, I am tipping Sambro at Randwick, so he has to go on top here.
No4 VICTIME DE L’AMOUR was quite poor when favourite fresh, I am expecting an improved effort here.
No1 ORCYM SAM drops back from the big weights he has been carrying as of late and only has 55kg.
No2 CANNON RUN is a first four chance.
VALUE RUNNER: No4 VICTIME DE L’AMOUR
No7 SACHER TORTE (BEST BET) just smashed them first-up from a spell running a very slick 32.7 for his last 600m there. The form has since been franked and I like the way how Cummings is placing his horses at the moment, getting them confidence at the provincials before taking them to town, this looks another.
No1 NEXT LEVEL has the big weight to carry, but has been trialing in good order.
No2 RUTHLESS AGENT comes out of a good highway last start where the form has stood up well.
No3 MELBERRA STAR resumes here and has sprinted well fresh in the past, watch betting.
VALUE RUNNER: No2 RUTHLESS AGENT
No4 SPARKLY STAR has been trialing in good style coming into the debut run and Gerald has his team flying at the moment.
No9 SMARTYPY gets a good jockey change here and should take a lot of benefit from the debut run.
No3 EASY EDDIE started odds-on in debut and didn’t run up to expectations. He has trialled very well coming in.
No6 EQUAL BALANCE comes out of a good race on debut and should improve.
VALUE RUNNER: No4 SPARKLY STAR
No5 RULER comes out of an awesome race behind Malahat and Kementari on debut. The trials have been good and blinkers fresh shows intent.
No11 WARRANTY looks to be a nice filly and has been trialing up quite well coming into this.
No10 SUTTON FOREST is very well bred and has trialled in good fashion coming into a debut run.
No9 SANSA will get back here and come at them with one withering run late, the trials have been good.
VALUE RUNNER: No10 SUTTON FOREST
SCRATCHE No6 GRAND FINALIST was quite poor as a short priced favourite last week, he must have come through it well to run again so soon, expect improvement.
No10 LIFELINE PRINCESS won well at Bathurst last start, and while this is a step up, she won with authority there.
No3 HAMMOND LANE drops in grade from a good race last start and with the blinkers on should improve.
No9 KINDA TANGY brings the outside form to this and has been going well enough for a race like this.
VALUE RUNNER: No9 KINDA TANGY
No2 GRAND FINALIST as mentioned above runs here or in R6, whatever race he runs in he is hard to beat.
SCRATCHED No1 BLUETWENTYTWO gets a soft run of it from the gate here and comes out of a good race fresh.
No5 IT’S A NEW DAY comes out of a good race and backs up quickly out of that race and should run well again.
No3 LORD KINGSLEY has been trialing quite well coming into the fresh run and brings good form to this
VALUE RUNNER: No5 IT’S A NEW DAY
No8 MATRON WILSON was solid enough first-up in an ok race and the step up to 1500m is quite suitable.
No5 CHAYANNE (BEST ROUGHIE) gets a soft run of it on the map here and gets in with no weight after the claim and should run well.
No2 NEVER BEEN ANOTHER gets the blinkers on here and comes out of some good races and the step to 1500m suits.
No3 LIGHTNING NIC has been going well enough and brings Don’t Give A Damn form. More than good enough for this.
VALUE RUNNER: No5 CHAYANNE
