Small fields on the eight-event card make it difficult for punters to find a lot of value.

The opening race has an odds-on favourite in Glam Guru, who faces five opponents and that is before final scratchings are taken on Saturday morning.

The false rail will be at the three-metre position from the 1200m to the winning post and at the true position for the remainder of the course.

The track rating is anticipated to be a Good 4, but with rain forecast on Friday and a cool day on Saturday the track may deteriorate. A low maximum of 16C is forecast for Saturday.

No1 DANGER DEAL is a stablemate to Glam Guru. He is also entered for Moonee Valley on Friday night so watch if scratched. Won his maiden over 1050m here in style when pulling out courage to score a fighting win on September 9.

No3 LIBERATORE will have AFL Bulldog fans following. Showed his determination to post a narrow win in a 1400m maiden at Cranbourne on September 20. He was at odds-on that day and delivered. He can take his next step here at his third career start.

No5 LOSTARC is a maiden at two starts but in a field of six gets his chance. He ran well to fifth over 1200m in a maiden at Balaklava on September 13. He was specked at long odds that occasion and will be at double figures here. Place claims.

VALUE RUNNER: No3 LIBERTORE

No4 RIOLI with the Adelaide Crows playing in the AFL final today he could be an omen bet named after one of football’s greatest families. Started his career on a high with a win over 1000m in a maiden at sale on September 10. Strong chance in a small field.

No2 PHELPS GLORY showed plenty of grit to post a narrow win over a 1000m trial here on a heavy 8 track on September 8. Has won and been placed third at three starts and has two important gear changes with the blinkers going on and a tongue-tie on for the first time.

No5 DEXELATION started his career on a perfect note with a narrow win over 1200m in a maiden at Strathhalbyn on September 6. Gets in well at the weights on 54kg with apprentice Dylan Caboche’s 2kg claim.

VALUE RUNNER: No5 DEXELATION

R3 – 2.02pm. Nicki Egerton Memorial Handicap – 1200m.

No6 HUSSYBAY had a heap of excused when got stalled in heavy traffic first-up before finishing sixth over 1200m here on September 9. The trainer has gone for top jockey Jamie Kah to ride this time and from gate two he should get a cosy run.

No2 ROCK STATUS is going to strip much fitter than at his first start back when finishing fifth over 1050m at Balaklava on September 13. Has a good record of four wins at 10 starts and goes well second-up. Makes appeal in a small field.

No1 COUNTER SPIN hails from the top stable and with Raquel Clark’s 2kg claim will carry 58.5kg. Came in for support when finishing a good fourth over 1200m here on September 9. The veteran 7yr had won at his prior start here over 1200m.

No4 EVIL DREAMS is on the quick back up after a disappointing seventh over 1000m here last Saturday. The trainer had high expectations of a big result being backed into $5 on that day. Give him another chance.

VALUE RUNNER: No4 EVIL DREAMS

R4 – 2.42pm. Transformer Services Handicap – 1050m.

No12 INVISIBLE GIRL was held ultra-tight before finishing off well to run fourth over 1000m here on September 16. Joe Bowditch keeps the ride and she has a perfect second-up record of one start for a win. Has no weight on 54kg and barrier two.

No1 BAROOD has the 3kg claim of apprentice Victor Wong to reduce his impost to 57.5kg. Hit the line hard when winning over 1100m at Bendigo on September 14. He was specked at double figure odds that occasion and is a good chance.

No4 ARIZONA WILDCAT is resuming here off a long spell. Was given a trial but did nothing when finishing 11th over 1000m here September 8. Has an excellent record fresh and has upcoming Victorian apprentice Chris Caserta’s 3kg claim dropping his weight to 54.5kg.

No7 BROWN BEN can claim revenge on his second to Balf’s Choice in the Balaklava Cup (1600m) on September 13. He stormed home from a long way back that day and Perth hoop William Pike rode the winner a treat in front.

No2 BALF’S CHOICE was ridden brilliantly by William Pike to win the Balaklava Cup on September 13. He goes up 3kg to 57kg, but he does get Adelaide’s top rider Jamie Kah to partner at his return to the city. Has five fence pickets from his past six starts.

No2 MILES OF KRISHAN will have leading Victorian jockey Andrew Mallyon to partner here. She is first-up here after running a close third in the group 3 Queen Of The South (1800m) here back in early May. Goes very well fresh and is against her own sex.

No3 MODEL DRAGON has an excellent record of five wins at nine starts. She is resuming here from a 19-week spell. She was given a soft trial finishing sixth over 1000m here on September 8. That was on a bog track and had three weeks to improve.

No1 BEAUTIFUL FLYER (BEST ROUGHIE) has been freshened up since her steady fifth over 1100m here on September 9. With a 3kg claim she will carry 56.5kg and she is now having her third start back from a spell. Expect a forward showing from a rails draw.
