Doomben (Wednesday) Betting Preview & Tips
Betting tips for every race at Doomben. Today’s best bet is in race 1.
Back to Doomben after a two-week break but be very careful as there has been the first rain in Brisbane in months. Doomben is the best drying tracks in Queensland but after rain the surface can be like glue. Usually we would say back horses with wet form but Doomben can develop fast lanes so it is wise to tread warily early, until a pattern emerges.

Best Roughie: R4 – 5. NATURAL FORCE
R1 - 12.43pm. Cowan Restoration Maiden Handicap - 1660m.
No1 DARING DEEDS (BEST BET) Never thought we would make him a special in anything. But he has run four seconds and a third from his past five starts and has been placed all four starts this track. This is so weak he has to win doesn't he?
No3 SHAOLIN KUNGFU Having first start this area but has been placed three times at the NSW provincials. Has to be a chance in this weak race.
No4 INVERARAY Has been placed four of 11 starts and usually about the pace. Lacks something at the finish but again this is very weak.
No7 D'AMORE D'MERRIER Has fair form for a race like this. Is bred to win a Doncaster and might be ready to show something now.
VALUE RUNNER: No3 SHAOLIN KUNGFU
R2 - 1.18pm. JOHNS LYNG GROUP Fillies and Mares Class 3 Handicap - 1050m.
No2 VINTAGE BEAUTY (NEXT BEST BET) Very fast but can stop quickly. This distance and track suits after minor placings past two starts at the Sunshine Coast. Has a good soft track record.
No1 PEKING ROAD Won at the Sunshine Coast three runs back and form since has been okay. Has been placed only soft track start.
No4 COLLAR’S UP Has some pace and capable of doing better than recent runs. Placed in soft going.
No3 INVINCIBLE STORM Placed at the Gold Coast last start and has good wet track statistics.
VALUE RUNNER: No1 PEKING ROAD
R3 - 1.53pm. BAY BUILDING GROUP Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 3 Handicap - 1050m.
No1 I'VE GOTTA NEL Had strong form last campaign and has had trials for some back run winning one. Has good soft track record and looks well placed here.
No4 CHIN CHUN Has won only one of his 27 starts but usually about the place. Has not been worse than fourth at last five starts and placed twice on soft tracks.
No2 VALFIERNO Strong winner at the Sunshine Coast last start and has raced well on heavy tracks previously. Respect here.
No5 ALL PLUCK Another professional placegetter with a win and four minor placings at past five starts. All his wet track runs have been good.
VALUE RUNNER: No5 ALL PLUCK
R4 - 2.28pm. ATA CELEBRATES 50 YEARS QTIS Three-Years-Old Maiden Plate - 1350m.
No7 TROMMELSCHLAGEN Deserves to win just to hear the race caller pronounce his name in a tight finish. But does have solid form on wet tracks and in general. We really liked his recent trial win.
No5 NATURAL FORCE (BEST ROUGHIE) Good third at first start at Ipswich and then run off his legs at the Gold Coast next start. Is bred to be a champion wet track horse.
No9 DON'T STUTTER Never as any luck and ran into a smart horse when second at the Gold Coast last start. Drawn poorly again but that might not matter on a wet track.
No1 BOLD ASSASSIN Two runs have been solid enough and fitter now. Has a good barrier here and an each-way hope.
VALUE RUNNER: No5 NATURAL FORCE
R5 - 3.03pm. MORSE BUILDING CONSULTANCY Maiden Handicap - 1350m.
No2 LORD ARCHER Placed two of three starts and hit the line well when second at the Gold Coast last start when winner ran smart time. This distance is ideal.
No3 PAGE ONE Good trial winner before first-up second at the Sunshine Coast. Another suited this trip.
No10 FORTUNATELY Had handy NSW country-provincial form before coming north where he had two trials. Has been placed several times on wet tracks.
No6 FAIRLIGHTING Yet another well bred horse joining Toby Edmonds stable. Has good NSW country and provincial form so a chance here and has been placed all four runs in the wet.
VALUE RUNNER: No6 FAIRLIGHTING
R6 - 3.38pm. ADVANCED BUILDINGS Class 2 Handicap - 1660m.
SCRATCHED No5 SHARP SPEEDO Has run home strongly for minor placings at his past two starts. He has very good form on wet tracks and this looks ideal.
No3 ZOFF OF THE WORLD Good win last start at Ipswich and has won and been second only two starts on wet tracks.
No8 PUNKENSTEIN Surprise winner two starts back and then not a bad run when second at the Gold Coast last start. Chance again here.
SCRATCHED No9 FLYING PARIS Has run second at his past two starts at the Sunshine Coast. Form in South Australia was solid previous campaigns and not the worst here. Has won twice on wet tracks.
VALUE RUNNER: No9 FLYING PARIS
R7 - 4.13pm. INTEBUILD Ratings Band 0 - 65 Handicap - 1200m.
SCRATCHED No4 VALLESECO Last two runs in harder races just oaky but a good Sunshine Coast winner three runs back and he won well his only soft track start.
No5 CALL THE COPPERS Minor placed six times before finally winning a race in the northern rivers last time. Can go on with it now.
No2 FALKIRK DRIVE Has a record of running into trouble in his races but was a good winner for us at his last start at the Gold Coast. If his luck holds he can win this.
No11 STORM GIRL First-up here but has had two trials and has a solid wet track record. Has been placed twice first-up.
VALUE RUNNER: No11 STORM GIRL
R8 - 4.50pm. RESTORX SERVICES Class 5 Handicap - 1350m.
No5 MYSTICAL RENEGADE Has been second at past two starts and had no luck either time. Has won three times in wet going and this looks suitable now.
CALL THE COPPERS No6 IRON GEORGE Gave nothing else a look in when strong Sunshine Coast winner. Both starts this area have been very good. Wet track form is okay for this.
No4 CRUISE POWER Has always shown plenty of ability and back in form with a Sunshine Coast win last time. Has won in soft going.
No10 KAPSTAR Bobs up now and again at big odds in these type of races. It was the vase when he won last time at the Sunshine Coast. Soft track form is handy.
VALUE RUNNER: No6 IRON GEORGE
