Gold Coast (Saturday) Betting Preview & Tips

Betting tips for every race at Gold Coast. Today’s best bet is in race 4.

Fri, 6 Oct, 1:52 AM

Another Gold Coast meeting metropolitan meeting with mostly big fields. The track will be wet for the first time in a while which usually means horses getting to the outside have a chance at the finish. These days usually produce plenty of upsets so we will look for value.

QUADDIES (races 7,8,9,10)

Skinny Play: 6,10/5,10/6,13/10,12

Wide Play: 4,6,10,11/3,5,10,13,15/5,6,11,13/4,6,10,12

Next Best Bet: R2 – 4. MIRACLES APLENTY

Best Roughie: R6 – 6. COOROI CHASE

R1 - 11.42am. MEMBERSHIP AT AQUIS PARK QTIS 2-Y-O Colts & Geldings Plate - 900m.

No3 RAINS APLENTY Has trialled very well in Toowoomba and form out of those trials has stood up well. Looks hard to beat in this small field.

No2 BRINKMANSHIP The first of the Spirit Of Boom breed to race and has won a Gold Coast trial in very good fashion. Has a heap of early pace.

No1 BOLTER Won a Sunshine Coast trial in very nice fashion and has plenty of ability. Drawn the rails which is always an advantage this track and distance.

No5 CURSE FREE Is trained this track which is a help. Trialled okay for this and has a knock out hope.

R2 - 12.22pm. VILIS FAMILY BAKERY QTIS 2-Y-O Fillies Plate - 900m.

No4 MIRACLES APLENTY (NEXT BEST BET) Has trialled very well in Toowoomba where has shown plenty of speed. The Toowoomba trial form has stood up well and looks very hard to beat here.

No7 ROSA'S CHARM Another who has trialled well in Toowoomba and has a handy barrier. She looks as though she wants further than 900m but will be running on here.

No5 MISS ESTER We liked her trial at the Sunshine Coast and she does have some pace. Not the worst by a long way.

No2 BABY BOO Won a Doomben trial like a handy horse and should race well from a perfect draw here.

R3 - 12.57pm. VILI'S CELEBRATING 50 YEARS Class 3 Plate - 1200m.

No3 HI HARRY At first start in six months scored an easy win this track in midweek class. Gets in well now with an apprentice's claim and the one to beat.

No8 AQUA VITE Very good second here last start behind a smart horse. Chance again if can reproduce that run.

No4 HONOUR ‘N’ STRENGTH Has always shown ability but his racing style means he often strikes trouble. He should have won a far harder race than this first-up last campaign. Respect.

No2 EXCEEDINGLY Two runs from a spell have resulted in a Sunshine Coast win and a Doomben third. Looks ideally placed here.

R4 - 1.32pm. PFD QUEENSLAND OPEN Handicap - 1400m.

No2 DREAMS APLENTY (BEST BET) Has had two runs from a spell and finished second both times to smart horses. Still only 0.5kgs over the limit and should nearly lead here. Will be very hard to run down now he is fit.

No3 DREAM FINNISH Stormed home to win first up at Ipswich in handy time. Up to 1400m now and has a strong second-up record.

No1 FRESPANOL Can mix his form and has to give most of these plenty of weight. But suited this distance and if can reproduce his Doomben win from three runs back he will be hard to beat.

No5 DANCE OF HEROES Resuming here and can go well fresh. On his day he has been placed in very good company. The trick is to predict his day.

R5 - 2.07pm. TASTE THE DIFFERENCE OPEN Handicap - 2200m.

No3 LOVING HOME Form has been very strong since coming north and good Ipswich winner last start. This trip is ideal now.

No2 VASSAL Has had no luck this area but always about the place. Good second to Loving Home at Ipswich and there shouldn't be much between them again.

No9 STANLEY Rarely has a horse had so much bad luck in middle distance races of late but he is rarely far from the place money. Should get the run of the race from barrier one.

No10 METEOROLOGIST Giant horse who generally races well this track and distance.

R6 - 2.42pm. COULDN'T YOU GO A VILIS QTIS 3-Y-O Handicap - 1200m.

No1 SNITZKRAFT Quality three-year-old who ran a class record when resuming at Ipswich after an ordinary winter carnival. Has to be hard to beat here again.

No6 COOROI CHASE (BEST ROUGHIE) Run much better than it looks on paper when unplaced first-up at Ipswich. Ran a very fast final sectional and is a definite chance here.

No3 MISS EXFACTOR Backed as though unbeatable when third at Ipswich after being slow to jump. Barrier manners are the biggest worry but has trialled very well of late.

No2 COLOSIMO At first attempt to be ridden back in the field stormed home to win at Ipswich two weeks ago. Hard to beat on that run.

R7 - 3.22pm. FREEDOM FUEL GOLD COAST Ratings Band 0 - 70 Hcp - 1400m.

No10 RED HANDLE This is a wide open race but Red Handle has been racing well enough to trouble these at this distance from the good barrier with a top jockey.

No4 REVALDOR Form doesn't look all that flash but this distance suits and he has been crying out for a soft track.

No6 D'HARMONY Has had a few issues over the years but on his day would win this. Not a bad run last start.

No11 WE BUILT THIS CITY He will be big odds here but we liked the way he hit the line when third at Ipswich last start and he has a good record this track and distance.

R8 - 4.02pm. AQUIS FARM Ratings Band 0 - 70 Handicap - 1400m.

No15 SNAPCHAT GIRL Just a run in three-year-old company first up at Ipswich but better placed at the weights at this distance. She has won this track and distance in fast time.

No13 DEER MOUNTAIN Former NSW galloper who had solid form that area before easily winning a midweek race this track. Ready for this class now.

No5 AMERICAN DIVA Gets a long way out of her ground but can really finish fast. Interesting she is first-up at 1400m after an ordinary trial.

No10 PROLIFIC BELLE Consistent placegetter who is trained this track and usually races well here. Good each-way hopes.

R9 - 4.37pm. VILIS FAMOUS FLAKY PASTRY Benchmark 80 Handicap - 1800m

No6 SHOCK ALERT NSW visitor who was a last-start Kembla Grange winner and looks to be very well placed this track and distance.

No5 KINCAPLE CHIEF Winner this track and distance last start and has been most consistent of late. This is tougher but has strong claims.

No13 KUTTAMURRA AL Took 20 starts to win a race and has now won three and been second from past four starts. Trainer thinks 1800m is his best distance.

No11 ENDLESS DAYS Will be big odds here but likes this track and soft going. No luck last start when fourth here.

R10 - 5.17pm. MOET ICE PARTY DERBY DAY Benchmark 90 Handicap - 1100m.

No10 SIR DONALD This is a very hard race but Sir Donald always races well this track and goes very well first-up. No official trial but has had a jump out. Hard to beat.

No4 ANOTHER WHISKEY Has been racing well enough before good win at Doomben last time. This sort of race suits very well as last start win was in open company.

No6 GRACIDA Has won four races in a row over 1000m distances in fast time. The barrier is no help at all from this start with so many fast horses drawn inside him, but still rates highly.

No12 GATLINBURG Has been in a purple patch of form winning his past three starts this type of race. Still down in weights and should get a chance to storm home late.
