Betting tips for every race at Ipswich. Today’s best bet is in race 1.

Ipswich continues to have a massive workload and is backing up after a meeting last Friday. There has been some rain about and the track should be softer than recent meetings but it should play the same again with early pace dictating whether all horses have their chances.

QUADDIES (races 5,6,7,8)

Skinny Play:  1,2/2,6,2,7/12,13

Wide Play:  1,2,8,9/2,5,6,8/2,4,6,7/7,8,12,13

Next Best Bet: R5 – 2. ISLA TRISTANA

Best Roughie: R4 – 10. GUN BOLT

R1 – 1.43pm. CHANNEL 7 Class 5 Handicap - 1690m.

No2 SLYDINI (BEST BET) Has been racing well in better company than this. Good third last start at the Gold Coast and suited here with testing out of the track. Should nearly win this.

No1 LIBERTY ISLAND Likes to roll along in the lead and should be able to do that here. This suits better than last-start defeat in the Ballina Cup.

No4 CANONGATE Good second at the Gold Coast last time and rarely far from the money but doesn't win too often.

No3 DEVIL'S FIRE Another who is rarely far away but doesn't win often. Recent form good enough to trouble this field.

R2 - 2.18pm. SCHWEPPES Fillies and Mares Maiden Handicap - 1350m.

No5 HI LIZZY Engaged in two races but recent form suggest she would win this. Last start not far away in a three year old at Doomben which was far stronger than this. Seconds in good maidens two previous runs.

No1 WOODDITTON Has been placed in all starts and deserves a win. This isn't very hard and has an apprentices claim here.

No6 CASINO EVIL Has been placed only once in 10 starts but has run some fair races this class. Each-way in a weak race.

No3 MISSY ATTITUDE At least has been placed in this company and although latest effort only fair rates a mention here.

R3 - 2.53pm. CITY OF IPSWICH QTIS Three-Years-Old Fillies Maiden Handicap - 1200m.

SCRATCHED No4 HOLY SNITZ First starter who has impressed at the trials including time when won well. The stable has a great strike rate first-up in maidens.

No6 MISHANI ELECTRA Her stable is flying and she has been second at her past starts in races not much tougher than this. Strong each-way claims.

No5 LA SCOPA Trialled well and then at first run was a strong third at the Gold Coast. Will be further improved.

No9 RIVER FLYER Fought on pretty well last start in a similar race and not the worst here.

R4 - 3.28pm. SIRROMET Colts, Geldings and Entires Maiden Handicap - 1350m.

No10 GUN BOLT (BEST ROUGHIE) Very good run when third at only start at the Gold Coast. Has trialled nicely and should be running home hard here. Will be good odds because of his barrier.

No11 LICKETY SPLIT Much better run when second last start at the Gold Coast and has the rails here. A definite threat.

No1 CORNFORTH Has had nine starts for six seconds and three thirds. But he is getting hard to tip for a win although he will win one day surely.

No3 TEN TAUBADA’S Great run first-up when second from a bad barrier. Has drawn wide again and that makes it hard but a show here.

R5 - 4.03pm. SKY THOROUGHBRED CENTRAL Fillies and Mares Class 3 Handicap - 1200m.

No2 ISLA TRISTANA (NEXT BEST BET) Has good form for a race like this having won at Rosehill and being placed at Randwick last campaign. Excellent first-up second this track last time and is a second-up winner.

No9 WINTER BRIDE Former NSW provincial performer who was a strong winner only start this area at the Gold Coast. Looks the main danger.

SCRATCHED No8 TAY SWIFT Strong maiden winner first up and another sound effort last start. One of the chances here.

No1 SHEEZALADY Has won this track this campaign and never far away although paying the price with big weights. Best chance would be to lead by herself.

R6 - 4.38pm. RAY WHITE IPSWICH Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 3 Handicap - 1200m.

No8 SPLITZ Very promising and has won two of his three starts by running the opposition into the ground. Has the early pace to overcome the barrier here.

No5 BREAK TIME Has won his past two starts this track and while this is tougher he should be in the finish again.

No2 GO THE GANTRY Has been placed past three runs in the northern rivers and at the Gold Coast. Each-way again here.

No6 CHARLIE'S DUST Racing well in Toowoomba and won that track two starts back. Never far away.

R7 - 5.13pm THE QLD TIMES Ratings Band 0 - 65 Handicap - 1690m.

No6 MONTRER DAME Has run three seconds from four starts this track including two latest runs when didn't have much luck. Gets his chance here.

No4 KNOCKOURA Good run at Lismore when second last start and has been most consistent of late. Each-way here.

No2 DUKE OF CHRISTOPHE Winner this track two starts back and then no luck in harder race at the Sunshine Coast last start.

No7 RAMATUELLE Has been going okay in the northern rivers and won there two starts back. This distance suits around this track.

R8 - 5.50pm. THE QLD TIMES Ratings Band 0 - 65 Handicap - 1350m.

No13 CREIDNE Trialled well before strong first-up win. Up in class here but looks promising.

No12 ZAP Won two races in good fashion and then a handy third last time this track when not suited by the way the race was run. Chance here.

No7 SILVERWIN Expensive horse who was much better at second run this area when winning at the Gold Coast. Can be hard to beat here.

No8 LUNA FIORE Forget last-start Sunshine Coast failure and go on previous solid form which gives her a hope here.
